Sure seems like theres tons of people from maine on the forums, i would love to meet and greet once i am up there! How are the plants liking the rain? Ill probabaly end up doing single roofs per plant to pretect from elements.

Ha ha the Beast Coast. Reminds me of the famous comic book encounter between the Beast from the East and the Pest from the West.

When do plants normally start to flower in Maine ??

Around mid August is when the daylight hours are short enough to induce flowering. You should be seeing little budlets the 1st week of September.
If you have anything that isn't showing by then, youll definitely want to think about the poly pullovers - just to trap some heat come October.

Had you acquired MOB, you would probably be seeing pistils by now.

Sorry for delay here's a couple pics! There bushing out nicely! About 3.5' tall here's 4 of em!

Well the way there growing they'll be rootbound in the 3 gallon in about 10-14 days I'm guessing then I'll be putting in final pots. Not sure if I classify them as early starts?

So I should def go bigger pots huh? 45 seems quite over kill haha idk though first outdoor !
waterlab,
I looked into building a living super soil, but it's too expensive for my limited income. So I went with a 50/50 mix of western Ma. native topsoil/aged cow poop compost. Dug 5 holes, 3X3X3 & and mixed in the compost, I then used one bag of fox farms ocean forest on top 6 inches . Planted two 2 ft. cloces, and 3 two ft. tall from seed, on 6/1/. So far they're growing great . Now I'm looking for an inexpensive way to feed them organically, . So far I've feed them high N bat poop & 4/6/2 all purpose natural mix from down to earth. Thinking about making a cow poop compost tea ?? Yum yum !! If I was gonna go with pots, then I'd think about 20 gal. fabric bags !! You rototill a spot for the legal 6, the other 7 you gotta hide and to do that it takes spreading them out over that 7 acres. The two here and one over there method !! Is Maine gonna legalize pot come nov. ?? I think we're gonna here in Ma., but can't be sure till we vote !! All the big politicians & the police are against it !!
Does moose eat pot like deer ?? I ask the tough questions !! May your be plentiful !!

With all those ferns growing around you, those soils are leached of calcium. Try some calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate and some calcium nitrate as well, use some super phosphate (calcium phosphate) and in your budding cycle, a good chelated calcium.
