Why not do six big Cali-style plants and stay legal?
Save yourself the hassle and risk of guerilla growing?
I used to grow like that before Maine went medical, but now I stay in my limits and grow huge plants . Just sayin.
Good luck with your grow!

Ya next year o will be, right now I'm a little behind and can't grow Cali style plants. When I have the means for indoor/outdoor on my owns pot I will. For now I'll let my adrenaline flow, n continue to grow ;)

I've grown on both coasts a lot and am interested to see what people can pull off. My friends there still are amazed with 2 lb plants.

It's hard to grow Cali style Maine. Growing season is shorter, way less sun. There's a lot of over watering from rain that happens.

If you planted high you can topdress and sidedress a lot of material through the season and the roots will grow right in to it where it counts the most. On top where all the O2 is.

Have fun. It's an addicting lifestyle.

Hey welcome! There's not many places to plant high where I am, it's gonna be a pretty dry season so rain shouldn't be an issue!

I'm not really amazed by 2lb plant, awesome yes! Amazed eh, my buddy grows his 6 outdoors every year and averages 3.5-4 per.

The holes I dig have awesome awesome soil in the ground, can tell very rich in vitamins!

Here's a pic of the 3 I have in fenced are, the other 5 are in a different area about 150 yards away, tried to take a pic but can barely see them to many ferns lol

All 8 plants took very well to the transplant though and very green!

Not sure if said it or not to lazy to look back haha but mixed a seafood compost with sunshine and filled the holes with that!

Well, there all growing nicely! A couple of them are stretching a bit, which is strange because there getting same sunlight as rest of them! Will get some pics later when head out!

Had some rain yesterday today was gonna go water, maybe will just give them there food:)

Great to see another east coast outdoor run!

Welcome! It's my first outdoor so prob won't be an exciting show haha but getting there!!

I have a question I have a very strong sativa outdoors that's stretching like crazy !! Like 4-5" in between the nodes. Is this normal sativa activity? Huge! Leaves, skinny finger like.

Wondering if I could top it and use it for a clone and then maybe will grow bushier??

Yup sounds like a sativa... is she in a full sun spot? (as in not stretching for light)

Looks like youre off to a good start. You can top those sats if you want to. still plenty of time before flowering starts.

A couple of suggestions. Anything with dense buds that runs longer than 8 weeks has a high potential for mold come mid-sept or so. Probably more so being on the coast - fog.
Consider putting some posts/lines up so that you can cover them if rain is in the forecast - esp. in mid-sept again.

I grew OD here for 4 years and mid-sept is when I would really have to start watching for issues.

Im on the fence about deer control. Ive had deer bed down right next to my plants and never touch them. I think if they have plenty of more desirable food around they'll leave the plants alone.

Liquid Fence is a good repellant. Its made from putrescent egg solids. Spray enough of it around and itll keep humans away too.

Thanks for the info!!! Ya I was thinking about topping them today, I'm not very good at cloning haha but don't wanna waste the plant, what's easiest way ???

That's a great idea! There def longer running strains, so I'll keep that in mind about a canopy!! Not gonna effect them if I block any kinda light from em of it's gonna be wet for a few days in flower?

And I haven't had one issue with deer, only fenced in 3 of em and rest of em never got touched. And there's deer out there every morning! Plenty of ferns, and other food out there for em. Plus I have a food plot that they love 😜

Clear poly will work fine. Only put it up if its absolutely necessary and pull it down as soon as possible. Itll be totally fine if you cant pull it down for a couple days.

I did it for individual plants. Hung a line over the plant. Then tied down the 2 back (north) corners. I left the poly bunched up at the back end until I needed it. Then I just pulled it along the line and tied off the front corners.

I used painters drop cloth poly because it was cheap/super lightweight and I didn't care if it only lasted for a month.

Edit: Just make sure air can still flow under the poly.

Will keep that in mind if it comes down to it!! It don't normally get foggy here during later months of the year just spring, and have a quick spurt of it during the summer...fall seems to be pretty dry where I am. When do plants normally start to flower in Maine ??

Typed out a whole thing and it deleted, gotta love it haha. I haven't been on much, work got in the way. But here's an update plants looking great. Only gave them nutrients once and was at 1/4 strength so there doing well considering!! I broke one of the branches to test it out I like it widened it right out and only took two days to recover and could take the support stick off. Will be breaking a few more branches on same
