First Grow, Green Giant x Matanuska Thunderfuck

Hey Guys, made the switch over from overgrow to icmag just now. Here are some pics of my first grow. 2 plants, DWC, 3 weeks of 12/12. Took them a while to start growing flowers but they seem to be doing well. Check out my pics and let me know how I'm doing. Any advice woudl be greatly appreciated. I can't seem to find anyone else who has grown this strain, its from Spice Brothers. Also any direction as to what nutes are good would be appreciated.

Plants look good. How many weeks left you think? I hear thunderfuck is amazing. Sorry I cant help with the nutes, Im an organic soil type guy.

I think I have atleast 4 more weeks left. This is my first grow and I'm unsure but right now the buds are mostly white hairs and still pretty small, been going almost 4 weeks now of 12/12. They stretched out for the first week and a half and then started showing signs of flowering. When will my buds look like something that you can smoke besides a bunch of white hairs.?

Dont worry white hairs are good it means plant is very healthy and is still growing buds. The buds will take at least 4 weeks but probably more like 6 or 7 and then after you harvest you still need to dry and cure. Be patient you wont regret it those look like they still will fatten up quite a bit in the coming weeks.You could also trim away the bottom buds that are not getting good light and the energy will go into the bigger buds. medicaluser420 thanks a lot for the info. I was getting worried because this is my first grow and things just seem to be progressing slower than I had hoped. You answered my next question which was gonna be about trimming away the lower portions. How far down would you say is best to cut. Like the branches on the lowest 3rd of the plant?

Good job so far. Most strains go 8-9 weeks so don't worry. Most strains also put on the most weight during the last two weeks. Can't help you with the nutes but if you go light and ever other watring you'll be ok. Best of luck.

You're certainly headed in the right direction. I have grown thunderfuck, but I can tell you the smoke is extraordinary. You'll be in for quite a reward in 6-8 weeks. Good Luck.

I noticed u had a date on the bottom right side of ur pics..u mean to tell me u got them pictures developed? ha!

Haha no way man. My digi camera puts the date on there for me to easier track the progress of my grow.

good job man.... I grew AK x Green Giant (spice bros) for my first grow also a couple years ago.... The green giant creates amazing short internodes, i found them to be very hardy plants, easy to clone, able to take on heavy ferts (though not reccomended)
It's fun to watch the "white hairs" turn into big juicy buds over the next month, make sure you don't get over ancy and cut early.... I would recommend buying a flim loop at least 10x magnfied.... it will bring you to a whole new world.... on the leaf/bud surface you can watch the trichs grow and swell and turn amber.... after a couple grows you can pin point the kind of high you'd like to harvest.

- looks like 4-5 mo weeks
- trim all "sucker" budsites during the first 3 weeks of flower.... little shoots growing off main stem getting no light.
- DON'T FROGET TO FLUSH! - your beautiful buds will taste like ass if you don't 2 weeks straight water

So I went into my grow room today and one of the budsights that was fairly large but on the outerpart of the plant had fallen to the ground. I think the stem is to weak to support the bud growing on it. Any suggestions on what I do with the branch that has fallen?

I am going to try and tie it up otherwise I'll just leave it be, sucks but I should still have a good yield. I am a little suspicious, I think my kitten may have snuck in and attacked the branch. No way to know, oh well. Would it be bad to chop off the branch all together?

jsut chill bro.. It takes time... You can't set up a room just right overnight just as you can't make pot grow or finish or dry overnight..

Patience...

but it looks to me like around another month to chop
