First grow, 4KW Vertical

Definitely a vert grow. Ever heard of Heath Robinson? He grew trees like this using 3 lights and 2 plants set up like this:

0 x 0 x 0

0 = light, x = plant

Yielded 74.4 ounces off of 1800 watts. No stadium, coliseum or octagon-thingy.

Yeah but how long time did he veg these trees for? Compare this grow to his space ship grows and it's clear that it's two completely different concepts. Anyways, it's just a word so who cares, but as said, if you want to maximize g/w/month I would be surprised if this set up was able to compete with a multilevel vert set up.

Btw. 74.4oz/1800 W is "only" 1.15g/W. He squeezed 2.14g/W out of his flooded vert in less time.

Not to be a joykill, but you can hardly call this a vert grow. Only thing that's vertical are the lights hanging top to bottom. If you wish to gain the benefits of vertical growing, you should at least have more than a single level of plants (set up in a stadium, coliseum or octagon-thingie). At least don't be disapointed that your yield closer to 1 than 2 g/W not even counting the many watts needed to veg those big plants.

just my 2p worth

The only thing needed to be a vertical grow would be the bulb hung vertically between the plants, which he has done. This would be known as a vertical tree grow. Ever seen krusty's grows before?
Different areas have different penalties for plant counts. If he is in a medical state plant count means the difference between being totally legal or going to jail. Not everyone wants to or can run hundreds of plants stacked on top of each other.

This was with _2_ plants, not hundreds. It was to test the idea, and see what can be done with low plant numbers and lots of light.

exactly.

just for future reference, a vert grow is any grow that uses no reflector and has foliage/buds on all 360 degrees of the bulb.

Tree vertical grows are done to restrict plant numbers for legal reasons and its funner to grow big plants. SOG verts are simply bud factories, lawyer fees are expensive.
