Fireknot farm 2016

Good lookin out Tess and Outlaw.

Since we are on the topic. You guys picking them off mainly before the sun hits em or all day? I have been alternating BT and Spinosad. How are y'all treating for cats? Spray in the AM or PM? Any thoughts or tips appreciated.

Keep up the great work Tess!

BT once a week here in the evening apparently aint good enough. Would love to hear others' techniques. Also what other folks are using on adult cats? Is that what spinosads for?

I've been squishing them in the afternoons.

Cool. Thanks. I have been using BT in the evening. I read it degrades in sunlight and they need to eat it to be effective so hopefully they eat it during the night/early morning. I spray Spinosad in the AM since it kills on contact.

Thats just how I do it but would also like to hear any other successful techniques.

Spinosad on the night of the quarter moon (9th) and then on night of full moon and last quarter moon.

Also spray surrounding oak foliage if possible

I got caterpillars already, been finding about a dozen or so the last couple mornings. Is BT pointless to use if the cats are already burrowed in your buds? its a spray kill oncontact right?

O

Oakhills

BT bacteria dies the moment the Suns rays hit it. Though the BT toxin remains some claim. I don't necessarily believe it. BT influences the flavor of the flowers.

Spinosad lasts a bit longer in my experience, 4-7 days. Caterpillars have to ingest it though. I spray a fine mist on the tops of the plants, where the moths lay their eggs, and the emerging caterpillars die off before they burrow into the dense flowers.

Just my two cents....

Javelin is BT and is encapsulated and will give you extended control, doesn't break down so fast in the sun.

If your worms are in the large adult stages, at some point, neither spinosad nor BT will work. You need to think about something a bit stronger....

Just came in from spraying BT...lol. Thanks for all the input y'all. Thats why I love ICMAG!

As Oakhills said, and from what I have seen in the past, once they burrow in to the density its probably to late?

I'll spray Spinosad on the 9th in the PM.

Realize that spinosad will work on worm eggs, there is a residual. As the worms emerge, they nibble the egg casing on the way out and die off quickly.

Do not depend on BT only.

When the climate changes, this is the time that worms can get the worst.

Thanks Slownickel. Been doing both Monterey Garden Spinosad for a few years in combo with the Monterey BT and done ok. Still lose some choice buds though...I suppose mother nature will have her cut but I'm always looking for a more effective method!

Hi All. if one wants to produce CBD oil on a large scale hydroponically ( 5000 plants+) will there be a market to sell it to ???. I have been growing tomatoes ( 10 tunnels, 9000 plants) successfully for a couple of years and would like to explore this avenue. I have done some research on the subject and will be able to do it but do not know who will buy it on this scale.
