Tess,

Can't help but note your watering day comment and couldn't help but note a lot of leaves begging for water. Was that by accident or are you working a plan?

How often are you watering? Any idea of how much water per plant when your watering days hit?

Lookin pretty.:woohoo:

Thanks ya'll!

Im now able to water every other day and will start tomorrow at 33 gallons instead of 50 every 3. Ive been meaning to but have had to deal with some other stuff. Its interesting you notice. I cant tell at all from the pics. I see wind though! It was raging yesterday. I need more support asap.

Edit...looking again, I see the huge SA slightly drooping on the tip. That one must have not been watered by the time my gf brought up the camera with lunch.

Actually the last two times on the second day before watering on the third I saw a few plants leaves twist away from the sun so I know every 2 days at this point is best.

I haven't tested the soil yet but I don't see any major leaf twists or burning at the tips. Ive been feeding around 350 ppms. I got on my ladder yesterday and looked. Squished a caterpillar between my fingers on my dragons fruit cola.

I might get around to take some basic readings later today...

Burning? I'm sure those monsters can handle high EC. I got burnt leaf tips last year only when I hit 1500 ppm. They got pure water every other watering. They were very small plants, too. I think the tds was probably higher than 1500 because my meter was underreading when I calibrated it.

Just FYI.

It looks like you're in for a massive harvest!

In my experience ive found that when the tips of branches, and most growth in general, are "praying" but one or two nodes down from the tips of branches you see a droopy leaf here and there, that can be a symptom of too much water. Its usually accompanied by slightly "taco" looking leaves trying to dissipate moisture. Also the branches get very stiff and woody while the leaves and petioles are kind of limp...

Not saying that's what's going on with you, just an observation ive had before that I'd thought I'd share. In my own garden this summer even...but luckily took care of it. Watering is a fine balance

Plants look great man, really niiiiice.

Ive observed that too Jointed. Only time I overwatered this year was March in their 4"x4"s.

Started the mounds on once every 7 days. Now I'm at every other.

I'm starting to think my basic tests are useless. Hand full of samples taken show pH around 6.4 except one that said 6...odd...looks great. I used 6.5 pH water this time instead of 5.1 last time 'cause I forgot. Ppms are all still way low but again I'm not taking deep samples at all. 200-300. Center of mound. I guess I'll just keep feeding as is.

Tess,

Can you go in this page and tell me what would be the nearest spot to calculate your evaporation rates? You don't realize it, but you are irrigating MUCH MUCH less than nearly anyone that I have talked to! And not by little, we are talking about folks putting on 100's of gallons PER DAY per plant! They are also pushing conductivity up over 1200 ppm, so part of the issue lies in their need to have to keep things wet to tolerate that conductivity.

From some other numbers that I have calculated, your irrigation at 50 gal every 3 days, seems real close to the plant requirements.

Realize that as wind increases, there is more evaporation.

Realize that when the plant goes into flowering, there is more evaporation.

Congrats guy....
