Greetings friends and jungle tribe.
When I left for vacation a few days ago my seedlings weren't looking very good. I planted them in a new soil that I hadent used before. It's a peat and ewc soil mix and I think it was too acidic for them. They came up quickly but seemed to stall out after a week or so. I noticed some rust spotting on the first set of leaves and also the sucker leaves were yellowing. I've not seen the yellowing before and knew this wasn't good. I assumed that the ph was too low and they weren't able to absorb nutrients. I knew I had to transplant into a known good soil and potted them up before leaving for vacation. They were very young and fragile and I had to be very careful with the transplanting. Not being here to see if they would recover was a little rough on me. I had no idea until I got home if they would be alive or not. I was worried that I might have killed my plants.
I was pleasantly surprised that they had bounced back nicely while I was gone. They grew a couple nodes while I was away and the new growth looks good. I think they will be fine.
Here they were right after transplant.
And here they are today.
I'm super glad they are bouncing back and I don't have to start new seeds. I don't think I'll be messing with popping seeds in anything other than happy frog from now on either. It's almost time to set the veg tent back up and get them out of the temporary closet grow set up.
