This has been a boring summer, 1 camping trip, we will be going to mission beach next month. Last summer we did Disney land, Sand Diego zoo, and sea world. And camping and the beach.

Probably going to do one more campout next weekend.

More yummy food talk. Can't beat in-n-out. Double-Double animal style, all day long. We have family that live in Colorado, in-n-out is their first stop every time. Juicy Lucy sounds familiar, and delicious. I have done the stuffed burgers bomb for sure, I like cheddar and bacon. Or jalapenos.

Pop Rocks sorry to hear about the mites, that's always a freaking pain in the ass brother.

Fiddynuts, deadhead night sounds like a super chill event. I had a lot of friends who were all about the dead. We used to go to something called "Dead on the mountain " back in the mid 90s, awesome shows no Jerry Garcia though. We would get lots of kind bud, shrooms , acid and hash their. It was a trip, about 8,000 ft in elevation, up past a ski resort . People would camp along side the road. I was kinda surprised no body ever walked off the side of the mountain while tripping on acid or shrooms.
Good afternoon Packerfan.

I hear you on feeling that you didn't get everything in that you wanted to this summer. I never seem to get as much done as I thought I would. Only one long weekend up north for me. Let's try to make the next couple months count and have some fun.

I wish we had in n out here in wisco. I have great memories of them. I use to hit the one in Sacramento on my way back from Tahoe when I'd go snowboarding up there. I think that the in n out equivalent around here is a place called culvers. They cook the burgers fresh to order and they are very similar. Fast food that is still food, and it's tasty, unlike mcshitty and other places.

The July Lucy was invented in St. Paul Minnesota I think. It's a burger with the cheese on the inside. Stuffing bacon and jalapeño in there wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit.

Dead on the mountain sounds like a great time. Jerry was in pretty bad shape in the mid 90's and died in 95 so that might be why he wasn't there. He was a great musician and leader but the music and scene will go on without him like it has. It seems like the other members of the band have played with so many other people over the years that there will always be someone who can keep the music going. You are right that there has always been great buds, shrooms and acid at the places where dead heads show up. The dead Would show up here every summer and play at least two but sometimes as many as four shows in back to back days. Alpine valley is a ski hill where thay would play and it's in the middle of farm country. A lot of farmers would wake up in the morning to find a bunch of heads sleeping in there fields. I think they got banned from playing alpine for a while in the late 80's because of that.

What's up fiddynuts, culvers sounds good to me. Their is a little hole in the wall spot near me that makes so.e awesome burgers, they grind the meat every morning. I am pretty sure they are chefs, they wear the chefs hat. I can't stand most fast food.

The dead are more of a scene than just a band.

So, I think I told you about the wife's cousins band, that came in second at the battle of the bands. Well they would up getting a recording contract with Wright Records. Pretty stoked about that. They are all under 20 years old. Definitely cool, the youngest is still in high school. That kid is going to be a freaking stud. Signed to a record label in high school.

Good afternoon Packerfan.

It's too bad there arnt culvers in Cali. They have spread to most of the country and there are a bunch in Arizona. They have frozen custard which is like ice cream but richer and more delicious. They started their first location in wisco and have been doing it right ever since.

That burger place by you sounds good. I think a lot of chefs get sick of the fine dining scene and open up modest places so they can cook what they want. When you find a nice local place like that it's great to support them. The fact that they grind their own meat means they are very particular about what goes into the mix and what the meat/fat ratio is. That's a good sign that they are going the extra mile and have high standards.

You are right that the dead and all the incarnations over the years are more of a scene these days, and have been since they developed the following long ago. It's about more than the music when you go see them.

That's so cool that the kids did so well and got a record deal. They must be on cloud 9. I never had any musical talent but would have given anything to be in a band in high school. All the hard work and practice they put in is paying off for them.

Are you saying you would prefer Culvers over some good ol' fashioned Gilles, Kopps or even Leon's? ..lol

When we lived out west my wife kept telling me we should open a custard stand...sooo rich, sooo smooth, sooo good and hard to find out west....AND they have recreational weed so lets keep something for us..jk.. share custard with the world, it may just bring peace!

We have a place called Freddies steak burgers that has frozen custard it's pretty awesome.
We are getting a cracker barrel here. Can't wait to get some good southern cooking.

Good afternoon Badfishy.

I never had a Juci Lucy out but I've mad them a bunch of times at home. Takes a little bit to get the meat and cheese ratio right but worth the effort. I know how it is to get a taste for something that you can't get anymore, when I lived out west I'd get a taste for a local specialty that I couldn't get there and it would bug me for days. Hahaha where you going to get a ponza rotta in Cali?!

Good afternoon caljim.

Sounds like you know your way around MKE. That's great I'm not the only cheese head around here. You are right Gilles, kopps, and Leon's are all so such classic burger places and each has such a unique style. I love them all and would never be able to choose a favorite.

You are right custard is just so good. My wife (girlfriend at the time) moved to the SF Bay Area for a few years in the late 90's and we couldn't find it anywhere. We, like you guys thought it would be a great busness to get into there. She ended up starting a pet care and dog walking busness and had a lot of fun doing that. I got to ride my bikes on some of the best roads in the country and work at some cool bike shops there. Loved it there but Wisconsin is home.

Welcome to my little jungle and don't be a stranger. Actually it's not very jungle like right now I don't have any plants going at the moment except a couple outside at a friends house and my bros house. Gotta get some shit done in the house and then I'll be back up and growing soon. Getting beans popped in a week or so.

Good afternoon Packerfan.

That's great you have a source for custard. Maybe it's getting more popular and widespread than it was back when we were there. Or maybe it just never got warm enough in the Bay Area for ice cream and custard LOL.

Good home style cooking at Cracker Barrel for sure. When I'm on a road trip I always hit a Cracker Barrel or two for some good eats.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

My weekend was busy but all and all it went well. I know what you mean with moving plants. With little plants I've been able to stash them in a cooler for transport but the couple times I've had to move bigger plants it gets sketchy. I moved a few bags seed plants to a buddy's house before my first grow and they were pretty big. Also the autos I took to my bros a couple weeks ago were too big to hide in a cooler. Both times it was hard to make it not look like a car full of pot plants. If we had stopped at a traffic light and a cop stopped next to us it would have gone badly. I hope none of the neighbors were looking out their windows while I was taking them out to his truck. Funny thing a couple weeks ago I was getting done with work and walked by a car in the parking lot and saw a single pot plant in the back seat. There was a chick in the drivers seat and she looked nervous too. She didn't even put a sheet over it to hide it or anything. I felt like asking her about the strain but decided that would probably freak her out even more. Too bad we still have to sneak around.

That's great that your plants have a new home. The plants I've put outside this year all loved it. They are super happy in their natural environments. I think outdoor would be a lot easer than the indoor growing I've been doing. Speaking of I'm going over to harvest 4 of the first outdoor autos tonight after work. She has one more that is growing much bigger and looks like it will go another month. The 4 we are taking down tonight are small and will be easy to harvest.

I know how you feel with all the space. I haven't had any plants in the house for a couple weeks or more and it's lonely without them. Gotta pop some seeds soon as well.

You are right that kids seem a little diffrent today, but that growing up will always be a time of discovery and development. I can't take credit for the 'free range kids' term because I saw that in a meme. The picture was a kid going off a home made jump on his bike without a helmet on. It fits perfectly though.

You are right that good music will never go out of style. I love the way listening to a song can bring you right back to where you were the first time you heard it. I can here a song that I haven't heard since I was a kid and it takes me back in time. Sometimes I'll here something I use to listen to a lot and it's amazing how it can jar old memories.

Sounds like you'll have some nice time to chill next weekend. It's nice to have a couple days to yourself from time to time. Looking forward to the rest of summer and some nice fall weather. A couple more busy weeks then it's gravy after that for me.

/had to throw in an extra "haha" for you there
you are preaching to the choir about growing outdoors, man
i am all about that big grow light in the sky!
i spent more years growing in the full sun (or as close as i could safely get) than i have indoors
/back in the day, an indoor set-up seemed like such a luxury
plus i live in one of the best places on earth to grow cannabis outdoors
/coastal so cal: heavy sunlight and mild temps
i am also a firm believer in a thing called terroir, the influence of the local microclimates on plants, so this should be a bit different from the other stuff of the same plant grown indoors
one day fiddy, i see the market for weed evolving to mimic the wine market and regional varieties will be celebrated
but enough of my ramblings man
...
that is cool about you pulling down some autos tonight!
its always fun to harvest
is this all for her or did you guys work out some kind of deal about the split
hopefully you will at least get a nice bud or two to sample and i cant wait to hear how it smokes!

What's up jungle mates, not much going on here babies are chugging along, probably going to be time for a feed soon. I have a couple weaklings that will get the ax if they don't get their act together. Trashed 4 clones yesterday, they were getting a little yellow. I don't want to sell weak clones.

Another harvest fiddynuts, your going to need more jars. A good problem to have.

Pop Rocks, wild times moving plants. I had a plumbing issue at the old house. I had to move a 6.5 x 6.5 tent to my moms along with 48 3 ft. Plants, and 60 clones, that was an experience. Definitely a crazy experience, took 10 trips to get it done. It took a week to get the plumbing issue fixed, then I had to put everything back together and move it all back. Picked up thrips in the move. No bueno.

Supposed to get my mendobreath babie anyday.

Yesterday was a glorious day, I left the a.c. off for the whole day. Made a batch of bubble hash. Realized I have more trim than I thought. Even after sending 3 pounds to the wax man. Still have over 5 pounds. Going to run a couple batches of bubble today.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

Yep plants seem so happy outside. They seem to take care of themselves as well. They arnt picky about getting a watering schedule or anything. The only issue I see is that it would be hard to control pests. And rippers I suppose. I'd be a little freaked out if I needed a big outdoor harvest to get me through the whole year. I'd have one shot and if I messed it up I'd be buying buds for the rest of the year and that would suck. But it seems like healthy plants are pretty good at fending off pests. So far I've had no issues with anamal damage to the plants. There are deer on the property but so far they have left the plants alone. I have pissed around the plants a couple times and my friend put some Irish spring soap chips down when we first planted them.

I think you are right that regional varieties of plants will become, like wine, something for the cannabis lovers to get into. There will be some microclimates that are so good the buds grown there will be sought after like a cab grown in the Rutherford region of Napa. I haven't smoked enough outdoor of the same strains to be able to terroir but I believe it exists. How about a vintage 2001 sun grown in Napa with a 16 year cure on it. Only 250 a gram hahaha. But seriously I do think your right and I can't wait until I'm free to sample buds from all over the world.

The harvest went well last evening. I letting her keep all the buds since I'm in good shape right now and she won't be able to grow until next summer. The first 4 plants arnt going to yeild a lot. These are the ones we didn't get to transplant until way late and they were flowering already. No ones fault we just couldn't get our schedules to sinc up for a couple weeks and I think that made all the difference. It has a nice fruity scent to it and decent trichome coverage. She dosent smoke a lot so it should go a long way for her. The one remaining plant she has is a diffrent strain and is stacking really nice. It looks a long way from finish so I hope the weather holds out long enough for her. I think that one plant might yeild twice as much as the other 4 combined.

Good afternoon Packerfan.

I hope the weaklings ca ch up for you. I've had some that were rents at first turn out to be great plants. I've also had some that never recovered and had to let them go. Luckily I had enough girls from the other seeds I popped and it never affected a run.

Lucky for me my friend has jars for caning and she is going to handle the cure for herself. I think I have like 14 full jars at home and I do only have a few more empty. I need to find the 1/2 gallon ones to be a better storage solution. Either way your right it's a good problem to have.

That's crazy you moved all those plants to your moms. I've heard of renters putting all their plants and grow equipment in a rented moving truck when their landlord comes for inspection once a year.

I bet it was nice to have the windows open all day yesterday. It's been really mild around here the last couple weeks and my AC has been off too. Lights and fans off, AC off, my electric bill is going to be nothing this month.

5# of trim sounds like a lot of bubble. Good thing you have the big bags. It would take me days to process that in my 5 gallons. Good luck. Are you going to make rosin with that?

I am already done making the hash, just have to collect it and dry it. And it only took 3 hours. Probably not going to make rosin out of this batch. I have another 1.5 pounds of my trim to make bubble and then rosin. I have 45 grams of shatter so I am pretty set on dabables for a while. Probably going to sell the hash the way it is, and probably make some edibles. I want to make some hard candy so It will last a while. I need to start taking edible befor bed. I haven't been sleeping much lately. Back and shoulder are pretty wreaked lately.

I got a helper here , he cleaned out the shed now he's handling the yard. Going to setup the drip system soon.

Wow that was a quick run. Those big bubble bags must be the shit for that. Nothing wrong with good bubble hash as is.
Hard candy edibles sounds good. I like to make some of them sometime myself. I had some great Carmel candies a while back that the chick who gave them to me said she made. I need to find a good recipe for that too.
That's great you have a helper. Take advantage and get ahead of the game a little.

that looks like a really nice slab of hash, packerfan
it looks soft and the color is really nice
how does it smoke?

i like your idea of moving the plants inside of coolers, fiddy!
these gals were kind of big but you could easily move plants in 1g containers in a big coleman cooler
even one of those lunch pail type coolers would work for clones ir smaller plants
that was nice of you to let her keep all the plants
did you guys trim them up too?
be sure to advise her on good drying technique
dont let a good harvest be ruined by bad drying practices
i bet she is super happy wiht the results and both of you should be proud of your efforts!
thats real fruit of the land shit where you guys are providing for yourself through good honest work
she knows exactly what went into the weed and should feel a special connection to plants she grew out herself
sounds like you get where im coming from when i talk about fine herb!
indoor grown can be a very homogeneous product but fine outdoor is a different thing all together
i love the consistency of indoors but you can beat a nice landrace grown in its native habitat
i am so ready for this weekend, just a couple more days to go

Hey jungle mates, hash smokes pretty good. I was real happy with the way it pressed out.I am hoping it last longer this way. I am thinking of making some medicated pies for the holidays.

The shed is all cleaned out. Ready to get on some upgrades now that the weather is getting cooler, I don't mind going outside so much.

They busted a grow up in the mountains by where we went camping, 7800 plants classic cartel grow. Camp sites and trash everywhere. These assholes give all growers a bad name.I used to lnow a guy who grew up in the mountains, dude had garbage bags of dank blueberry.
