im sure eggo will learn to behave off leash, but hes new and still a pup in some ways
ukie was terrible about running loose when she was young and i cant tell you how many times i had to chase her down the street because someone left a door open
luckily i was much younger then and still had the wheels to get after her
one of my friends had an invisible fence and while it works i think training goes a long way to making a good dog
one thing my sister told me was sometimes when you chase after the dog they think its a game and will keep running, but its hard when you live where there are cars and other things that could hurt your pet
thats great that you kept two mothers of the same plant
like you said, that ensures you will be able to take a lot of cuts at once
im going to have to kick my self into gear here soon and im with you brother lets make this the best year ever

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
Yes, Eggo is young and has a lot to learn yet. I'm hoping that as he continues to bond with us that he will want to stick around more. We are defenatly looking into those invisible fences or possibly fending in some part of the yard for him. It will be nice to be able to let him out and not have to stand there and hold the leash while he explores the yard. He really seems to like it outside and I'm sure he will want to be out a lot when the weather is nicer. We are on a pretty quiet street but just a couple blocks from a much busier street and it sure would suck if he got tangled up with a car. I think you're sister is right that the chase can be a game to them and can encourage them to run.

I've been wanting to go with a more natural style of growing as well brother. Every time I've started delving into the organic and no till threads I get intimidated by all the ingredients and cook time and so many different mixes. This run I made a big step by amending my soil with the rock powders and using molasses. I feel like this is the start of a process that will lead to me building my own soil and not having to rely on bottles of nutes. I'm not going to change everything overnight but I hope to change a bit every run. Even though this grow is not yet finished I feel that the changes I made in the soil have improved this run allready.

Hey Fiddy
I'm glad you're liking the 653 rock powder amendment. I bet you will get better terps from the added Gypsum. Don't be discouraged by cook times , as you see just adding the extra calcium helps. IMHO if you just chuck in the mix and soak it down with some microbe/fungi tea it helps a lot and any cook time you let it go is better than none. Four weeks works well for me but I use it when I need it cooked or not. I like to bubble some WC with some corn syrup, azobacker, myco and massive P for a couple days then pour it on the amended soil mix.
Even with a longer cook time on the mix I don't think you can altogether get rid of the bottles. You can cut it by 75% or so and if you're using expensive nutes that means a lot to me. But to push the girls to their peak I think more is needed. Currently I'm still using the fishy ferts for that. I tried adding more things (feather meal, bone char, Horse manure) to the mix but just never was happy with my efforts.
This run I have in now I'm using a trick I got from growingcrazy. I'm disolving 1/3 cup of gypsum into 8 oz of fish hydrolysate before adding it to the 5 gal of water. So far so good. More calcium and sulfur who could ask for more?
Enjoy the warm spell:tiphat:

Good afternoon Rodehazrd.

The 6/5/3 is helping a lot on this grow I think. I just have the one plant under my 600w where usually I'd have 4 and she is just starting to show some deficiency and fade the last couple days. She is getting a lot of light and would be showing deficiency much earlier in my old mix I'm thinking. I'm going to let her start to fade as she is at about week 7 anyway.
I think I'm going to get a few big plastic bins and use them for mixing and cooking soil indoors. I still have to get some of that mamouth P and maybe a couple of other things so that I can pump up the micro heard. You are probably right that I won't be able to completely get rid of the bottles but it feels good being closer to natural and I don't mind using a little of the stuff.
I like that trick with the gypsum you got from growingcrazy and might have to try that as well. Like you've said in the past, no such thing as too much Calcium.
The warm up has been nice but all this rain is causing a lot of problems up here. The ground is cold and the air temps are right at freezing and we are getting a lot of ice on roads, trees and everywhere. I'm afrade that my car doors will freeze shut on me. It's raining hard right now and is supposed to get really cold later so I need to get some salt for the walk at the house.

happening brother
hope everyone is having a great week
its nice to be able to let the dog loose outside and my buddy swears by his invisible fence
you could also build a dog run if you dont want to fence in the whole yard
thats great that your new mix is working better than your old one and im sure it will only get better over time
so do you have any plans for the weekend?
mrsChickys step mom is coming out to visit us this weekend
we are taking her and my mom out for dinner this sat night
we were also planing on going for a nice walk but that might not happen; my moms been having some problems with her hip lately so i dont want to have her push herself too hard
hope your week is wrapping nicely and you have a great weeeknd brother

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
I'm hoping that as I continue to add to the new mix it will keep getting better. I will evaluate after each grow and try to keep things heading in the right direction.
It's going to be a busy weekend for me brother. Tonight I'm going to a bar to see one of my favorite GD tribute bands. It's been a couple of months since I've seen any live music and I'm looking forward to it. This will be a nice warm up for our JRad show in Madison next week Sunday night. It's going to be nice to be around the kind folk again. It's the wife's birthday next week so we are going out for dinner with some of my family tomorrow evening for a little celebration. Then, on Sunday we are headed to her moms house for more birthday fun. That is going to keep me hopping for the weekend. It sounds like you have plenty going on this weekend as well. I hope you have a great visit with the moms. It's nice to see people that you don't get to see often.
I hope you had a great week and your weekend rocks.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
Wow I think I'm more tired after this weekend was over than when it began. I was out way past my bedtime on a school night on Friday, and the weekend just got busier as it went on. The show was at a cigar bar, which through a loophole in the law still allows smoking inside and the cigar smoke was thick. I'm not a huge fan of cigar smoke but it was good cover for us hitting the pot pipes and no body messing with us . The concert was fun and now I'm ready for the bigger show on Sunday in Madison. This JRad (Joe Ruso's almost dead) show on Sunday is going to be huge. He (Joe) was the drummer for further, a band that had the original grateful dead rhythm guitar and bassest, allong with the currant dead and co keyboard player. JRad does a very technical dead show with so many timing and tempo changes that it keeps you guessing and dancing all night. It's at a pretty new venue that is getting great reviews and should be a great place to see that type of concert. The crowd at these shows is usually really cool, like anything there can be a couple of bad apples but is overwhelmingly made up of people who just want to hear the music and have a good time. Dinner on Saturday for the wife's bday was good, as was the party at her moms on Sunday. I think she really enjoyed seeing everyone and having her special day.
I hope your weekend was good. Did you go through football withdrawal? Did you see any of that new football league that was supposed to be starting up? I was too busy to see any of it.

it sounds like you had a really fun weekend man!
i hope you have as much fun at the next show you have lined up, so the bands called almost dead?
man, when was the last time you smelled smoke indoors? i bet it was fun lighting up inside like old times
im not a fan of cigars too but they make a great cover for pot smoke like you said
im glad to hear your wife had a fun birthday and its nice that everyone could get together and cellibrate; to me thats better than gifts of things
no, im not really missing the football that much
i was feeling a little under the weather this past weekend so i just mostly chilled and read
i think it will be fun to get back outside now that football is over and the weather is starting to get nice again
im hoping to get back on the bike more frequently and get back into shape
i dident get to see any of that new football league this past weekend but im hearing cool things about it so im definitely going to check it out
do they have a team in your area?

Yep, it was a great weekend just went by too quickly. I'm glad the wife enjoyed her day and got to visit with family.
Sunday's show should be great. There is a pre and post party with another dead cover band at a bar close to the venue so we are going to make a day of it. I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm also looking forward to getting the hell out of town and down to Alabama in a couple weeks. We got another few inches of snow last night and I'm ready for spring. The weather down south should be great compared to what we are use to up here.
You are right it's been a while since I've been in a smoky bar. Wisconsin was one of the last states to ban smoking so up untill a few years ago the bars and restaurants were full of smokers. I use to smoke and didn't mind it as much, but now I don't particularly like breathing in tobacco smoke. You are right that it's a great cover up for smoking weed though.
That's unfortunate that you weren't feeling good over the weekend and I hope you feel better this week. Did you still get to hang out with your and the Mrs moms?
I'm glad you aren't having football withdrawal LOL. I heard some good things about the new football league but don't know if there are any teams around here.
You are so right that with football over and spring getting close now is the time to start getting out and getting some exercise again. Do some mountain biking for me because the trails here won't be open for a long time.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
That's great your mom and her mom get along well. I have friends who's parients and spouses parients don't get along and it really sucks around hollidays and other family events. They have to do everything with each side separately and it seems like such a waiste. The conflict is usually about something petty anyway and it just seems like some people will find a way not to get along with others no matter what. Anyway that tofu place sounds interesting and sharing a meal and conversation with people is the best. Botanical gardens are grate places for moms arnt they.
Sunday should be a great time and I'm looking forward to it very much. I've been hearing great things about this bar that is having the pre and post party. One of the people that I was talking to at the show last Friday night was saying it's her favorite spot in Madison. That are even allowing vending and a small 'shakedown street' in their building so there should be some good drugs going around. I haven't seen JRad live yet but I've seen some shows on YouTube and they look like they are going to be a lot of fun. I'm so glad I have Monday off!
I really shouldn't be complaining about a few inches of snow, I choose to live in this climate after all. And as long as the temps stay above 0-10 im pretty happy. But the more snow we get the longer it will be before the trails open when it does warm up.
It sounds like some rain and a warm up will be nice for you guys. It still trips me out when you talk about scraping ice off windshields way down there. The secret to not having to scrape up here is to keep your ride in the garage at night.

do you ever check the green out when you go?
how does it stack up against your home grown?
i have a few friends who give me weed all the time so i get to see whats around pretty frequently

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
An old car that has done you well for a long time is a great thing. I'm seeing a lot of problems with newer cars that my friends and coworkers own and I know manufacturers can do better. I believe that they were building better cars in the 90's and up untill the mid 2000's than they are now.
The rain will be good for you guys. I loved how green the grass in the hills would get in the east bay when I lived there. It should help keep the wildfire danger down too.
I don't remember if you mentioned the Mrs mom had passed or not but my heart goes out to her. I haven't lost a parent but my wife's dad passed a couple years ago and it was difficult. She was very close to her dad. That is really cool her step mom is cool and they get along well. It's also very interisting that her mom has a twin and that she is local to you guys. I hope she can share good memories with her moms twin and they can help support each other. My dads mom passed when I was pretty young but has a sister that is still around and reminds us of her a lot. It's kind of like having grandma around when we see her.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the venders have at the shakedown street on Sunday. I'd like another tie die shirt or something like that. I'm sure there will be plenty of party favors and I may stock up if I find some nice fungus. When I see buds around here it's usually very average commercial. Over dry with little flavor or scent. The one exception to that is the bud I traided to one of the band members of the band I saw last Friday. I traded a nug with him last summer and it was very fresh, local, and tasty. I will keep my eyes open and I'd love to find some fire. Usually my weed kicks everyone else's weeds ass, but that says as much about the product we get here as it does about my stuff.
We really don't celebrate Valentine's Day but it's a good excuse to cook a nice dinner for the wife so that what I've got going tonight. I'll probably take it pretty easy Friday and Saturday because Sunday is going to be a long day and night. I can't get too carried away because we will have to drive home for Madison sometime on Sunday night and it's a good 60 or so mile drive. Luckly I've got Monday off and don't have to be in a hurry to get back.
Eggo is doing great and I can't wait to get him out to the dog park and let him run and see how he interacts with other dogs.
I hope your week is going well brother.

thats so cool you were able to swap a nug with a member of the band and i wonder if he will remember your face
if not, break out a bag and see the light go on!
thats rad that they might hae some fun treats and i hope you hook up on some nice fungus
im going to have to look around my area and see what out there, i would really enjoy some fun like that and im sure the mrs would too
yeah the old pathfinder is still a great daily driver
solid safe and dependable
she has a few comsmetic problems but i know what to expect out of her and she gets me where im going
thats a great idea to cook a fun diner for the mrs and i hope you too have a great evening
what are some of her favorite foods?
yeah, i was surprised the first time i met her moms twin
you can tell them apart once you get to know them, her auntie is very fashionable and rocks this super cute pixie look
we just went out wiht her a couple weeks back
we all went to old town for some good mexican food and her step brother was there too

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
Yep I want to see how he does with other dogs and get some good exercise to boot. So far we've met a couple of labs on our walks and he has gotten along with them well. He didn't get along with my bros lab but it seemed like it was my bros dog that was not liking Eggo. My bros lab is old and loosening his sight so he probably didn't want to deal with the young pup. The foster we got Eggo from had several other dogs so he is defenatly use to being around other dogs. I think that the barking he does at dogs walking by on the street is more a playful bark than an aggressive one. We shal see soon.
My smoke is pretty good and there is always room for improvement. I do think the guy would remember me because I see the band every couple months and it's always a small crowd. The last couple shows have been in the bitter cold so we don't smoke out in the street during the break between sets but we did puff at a few of the shows last summer and fall. They are playing at one of my bros buddy's bar on 4/20 so if it's nice outside I'm sure we will be standing in the circle passing the pipe. I will be breaking out a bag for sure, hopefully some of the gorilla girl, and I hope that shit is as good as I think it's going to be.
An a to b driver is just fine. Safe and dependable are at the top of my list and cosmetics are all the way at the bottom. If I had a dependable older car I'd be fine driving it but since I don't and need a good winter car I did upgrade last fall. I gotta say I love my Subaru. In the 90's I had this old Subaru that got me all over the country snowboarding. I loved that car and my new one reminds me of it. The all wheel drive has been nice this winter too.
I can always find an excuse to cook someone a meal LOL. The wife isn't too picky about food, she even likes sea food and stuff that I don't. She dosent eat a lot of meat, but likes a good steak once in a while. Last night I cooked pasta with chiclken breast and a creamy parm sauce, and broccoli for a veg. It is something I've made for her before and she really likes it. I did add too much lemon juice and it kind of took over but it turned out pretty good.
I hope your week is wrapping up nicley and you are ready for a kick ass weekend brother!

if nothing else i can spend the next few days nursing her back and feeding her good food
we picked up a big bag of clam meat the toehr day and im going to fry them up in some coarse flour and corn meal
that chicken dish sounds awesome, did you use the wide fetuchinni noodles?
its fun to cook, but its even better when your cooking is well recieved
that sounds like a fun venue and i hope you guys enjoy your show!
it sounds like eggo will do great around other dogs even if he didnt get along with your bros dog
like you said, older dogs are less social sometimes (hahah, im that way too now soemtimes)
but im sure he will mix well and you guys will both enjoy the trips to the dog park
im rolling up a few and getting ready to go to my buddies place as soon as the mrs gets home
a friend game me some alien og his son grew out and its pretty good

What's up haven't posted in a while. Been crazy busy. I haven't forgotten about those care packages. I haven't had a chance to get to the post office. I my have some news about a new career venture, a career involving my favorite hobby. I will know more in the next few weeks.

We have had my bro in law here for a few weeks. Grr, in laws wtf. He gets stupid when he drinks. So, my wife doesn't want him drinking when he's here. So, I bring home flowers yesterday, go to get a vase out of the cabinet, to find my big hug of Crown royal and Kraken rum, are damn near empty. I had a couple drinks out each one on new year's eve. I was pissed. The wife bitched him out. When he showed up. Then this morning she found an empty bottle in the trash. I have never been around alcoholics who hide their drinking. It's like living with a teenager.

Fiddynuts hope you have a great time at the show. Hope you score some fungus. I have been getting some albino penis envy, they are crazy big. Most of them weight at least an eight. I have not been able to try them, but am looking forward to getting out to the lake for a fishing "trip" when the weather warms up some. I hope that lonely girl is good to you, she looks really nice. Mine are 5 days in. I will tentatively harvest on 420. Funny I didn't plan it that way.

Pop Rocks, how are you doing my brother. Sorry to hear about the wifes injury. My whole family is sick. We are celebrating Valentine's on Saturday. I got a heart shaped ribeye and some bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cream cheese. Probably going to make squash or asparagus to go with it. I got the same love of cooking, especially when you have people you love, to cook for. I hope you guys aren't getting hammered with this storm we are getting. If you can't find the fungus you want down their, I got you here.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

hey right on p'fan, i might have to take a drive up one day soon
yeah we are getting hit really hard by the rains and the roads have been a mess
but the other day was kind of warm and it reminded me that spring is right around the corner

we picked up a big bag of clam meat the toehr day and im going to fry them up in some coarse flour and corn meal
that chicken dish sounds awesome, did you use the wide fetuchinni noodles?
its fun to cook, but its even better when your cooking is well recieved
that sounds like a fun venue and i hope you guys enjoy your show!
it sounds like eggo will do great around other dogs even if he didnt get along with your bros dog

a friend game me some alien og his son grew out and its pretty good

you have a great weekend too fiddy!
/same goes for the rest of you goons

Good morning pop_rocks.
I'm sorry to hear that Mrs has a sore leg. You don't realize how much you need those legs to get around untill they start bothering you. Ice and heat are a great way to get the blood flowing which promotes faster healing. My wife uses one of those tens devices when she gets her nerve pain, but she also used it on her sore neck a while back and said it worked well. I hope your Mrs is back on her feet quickly. I'm sure you'll take great care of her. Good food seems to make everything feel better and I'm sure some pan fried clams will be great.
I usually do use wide fettuccine but this time I used a short curly pasta who's name I can't recall. You are right, it's nice to cook a meal but even nicer when someone really enjoys it!
I hope you had a god time at your buddies house. Is that the one who you grew out the outdoor with last year? Have you guys game planned for his upcoming grow this year? It sounds like he had fun doing it and would be down to do another.
Well my bro and I have some driving to do today to get to Madison and we are getting a few inches of snow as we speak which will make the drive a lot slower. We are going to have to leave extra early and be extra carful on th roads. I'm a good driver in snow but the same can't be said for others out there. I think that to get a drivers license up here you should have to know how to drive in bad weather, otherwise you end up being a hazard to your self and others.
I hope your Sunday is going great and your getting to relax. I'll see if I can get some pics from the show tonight and post them up for y'all.

Good morning Packerfan.
I hope you get some good news about the new job soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
I think you've mentioned your brother in law before and he sounds like a piece of work. Those kind of drunks are unstoppable and you should try to get all the alcohol out of the house if there is any left. It's sad for the guy and obviously for the family. I hope he isn't staying much longer for your sake.
I've heard great things about those penis envy shrooms. I've heard they can be really strong and you might want to start with a small dose. Some super intense things happen when you get a really high dose. I usually take enough to get a great buzz but not enough to melt my face off LOL. I'm actually thinking about getting a spore kit and trying my hand at fungus farming.
I hope your new batch is good and a 4/20 harvest would be epic!
