That Elijah is some good stuff. He was one of the original makers. He is given credit in some places for charring the first barrels. Being a good Baptist Preacher he felt sinful not reusing the corn whisky barrels for the whisky he made with his extra corn so he set fire to the inside to clean it out and used it again. And like all good Baptist he recognized good whisky right away. And Bourbon was born.

I have been going straight to 6 inch too and they don't do as well I think I'll go back to smaller pots next time. Could it be that the slow dry out time affects the feeding cycle.
