I've had US Customs snag 1lb of weed and 30 vials of steroids... They sent me a letter with the option to claim my items and have the case forwarded to the prosecuting attorney... Or abandon them for destruction. Can you guess what i did? I never used that address again, and I've been fine so far.

first - never use fedex or ups. it has been said numerous times throughout the years. about 8 threads on this site alone.

second - baby cakes??? cmon. use a real name and real address from the phone book as the shippers address. it has to match just in case.

third - glass jar containing product. then vac seal the jar with contents. never ship in zip lock or plastic bags.

Another situation like this around me happened to a family member . He worked for ups though 13yrs. when the 8grms was sent to him and realized the delivery guy didn't have brown socks on lol .Cousin busted his ass . Told him u don't work for ups your socks don't match the uniform . They would've sent u home for that lol. And im not expecting packages

i see mention of customs confiscations along with the OP's in the USA confiscation(presumably)
be careful with equating the 2, they aren't quite the same
inside the USA, it's a crime, but 4g may well be below the action threshold, depends a lot on jurisdictions
it may just be a very low priority, but if free time comes up, who knows? a knock and talk maybe if the address looks worth checking out
things at customs though are at port of entry, and may have not technically entered the USA, different procedures are in play
though if was 100 lbs+ or so, i'd be surprised if a visit wasn't done

I use USPS to receive or send seeds. Sending cannabis by mail is risky I don't recommend doing it.

If you need to send things, use USPS, because it is a felony to open a usps envelope or package without a warrant.

And I'd wager some employees have figgured out a skim plan. Increasing the odds of interception with return addys etc. and somehow loosing part of the original shipment

Now, if I have to go thru an airport, I will mail bud to myself, usually in padded envelopes and CD cases. It's worked in checked baggage, but not lately.

As far as a I know, personal use amounts are not pursued. The sender obviously didn't research drug shipping methods and messed up the packaging. The standard for shipping contraband is USPS if that is something you want to do. Sorry to hear about your loss.
