"November Rain"
Best Lyrics And Musical Compostition as Judged By Kaus

When I look into your eyes
I can see a love restrained
But darlin' when I hold you
Don't you know I feel the same
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
And we both know hearts can change
And it's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain

We've been through this such a long long time
Just tryin' to kill the pain
But lovers always come and lovers always go
And no one's really sure who's lettin' go today
Walking away
If we could take the time to lay it on the line
I could rest my head
Just knowin' that you were mine
All mine

So if you want to love me
then darlin' don't refrain
Or I'll just end up walkin'
In the cold November rain
Do you need some time...on your own
Do you need some time...all alone
Everybody needs some time...on their own
Don't you know you need some time...all alone

I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you

Sometimes I need some time...on my own
Sometimes I need some time...all alone
Everybody needs some time...on their own
Don't you know you need some time...all alone

And when your fears subside
And shadows still remain
I know that you can love me
When there's no one left to blame
So never mind the darkness
We still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
Even cold November rain

Don't ya think that you need somebody
Don't ya think that you need someone

DRum Roll Please...... Best 90's Hip/hop/rap,funniest song goes to

SKi-Lo
And I Wish

Hey, this is radio station W-S-K-E-E
We're takin' calls off the wish line
Making all your wacky wishes come true

Hello

1-I wish I was little bit taller,
I wish I was a baller
I wish I had a girl who looked good
I would call her
I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat
and a '64 Impala

I wish I was like six-foot-nine
So I could get with Leoshi
Cause she don't know me but yo she's really fine
You know I see her all the time
Everywhere I go, and even in my dreams
I can scheme of ways to make her mine
Cause I know she's livin phat
Her boyfriend's tall and he plays ball
So how am I gonna compete with that
'Cause when it comes to playing basketball
I'm always last to be picked
And in some cases never picked at all
So I just lean upon the wall
Or sit up in the bleachers with the rest of the girls
Who came to watch their men ball
Dag y'all! I never understood
Why the jocks get the fly girls
And me I get the hood rats
I tell 'em scat, skittle, skibobble
Got hit with a bottle
And put in the hospital, for talkin' that mess
I confess it's a shame when you livin' in a city
That's the size of a box and nobody knows yo' name
Glad I came to my senses
Like quick-quick got sick-sick to my stomach
Overcome with my thoughts of me and her together
Right?
So when I asked her out she said I wasn't her type
(rpt 1, 1)

I wish I had a brand-new car
So far, I got this hatchback
And everywhere I go, yo I gets laughed at
And when I'm in my car I'm laid back
I got an 8-track and a spare tire in the backseat
But that's flat
And do you really wanna know what's really wack, What
See I can't even get a date
So, what do you think of that?
I heard that prom night is the bomb night
With a hood rat you can hold tight
But really tho' on figuero
When I'm in my car I can't even get a hello
Well so many people wanna cruise Crenshaw on Sunday
Well then I'm gonna have to get in my car and go
You know I take the 110 to the 105
Get off on Crenshaw tell my homies look alive
Cause it's hard to survive
Livin' in a concrete jungle and
These girls just keep passin' me by
She looks fly, she looks fly
Makes me say my, my, my
(rpt 1, 1)

I wish I was a little bit taller...
I wish I was a baller...
I wish I was a little bit taller y'all
I wish I was a baller (3)

Hey, I wish I had my way
'Cause everyday would be a Friday
You could even speed on the highway
I would play ghetto games
Name my kids ghetto names
Little Mookie, big Al, Lorraine
Yo you know that's on the real
So if you're down on your luck
Then you should know just how I feel
Cause if you don't want me around
See I go simple, I go easy, I go greyhound
Hey, you, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Ahhhh, yes, ain't that fresh?
Everybody wants to get down like that
(rpt 1, 1)

I wish, I wish, I wish...

K's Choice - Not An Addict

Breathe it in and breathe it out
And pass it on, it's almost out
We're so creative, so much more
We're high above but on the floor

It's not a habit, it's cool, I feel alive
If you don't have it you're on the other side

The deeper you stick it in your vein
The deeper the thoughts, there's no more pain
I'm in heaven, I'm a god
I'm everywhere, I feel so hot

It's not a habit, it's cool, I feel alive
If you don't have it you're on the other side
I'm not an addict (maybe that's a lie)

It's over now, I'm cold, alone
I'm just a person on my own
Nothing means a thing to me
(Nothing means a thing to me)

It's not a habit, it's cool, I feel alive
If you don't have it you're on the other side
I'm not an addict (maybe that's a lie)

Free me, leave me
Watch me as I'm going down
Free me, see me
Look at me, I'm falling and I'm falling.

It is not a habit, it is cool I feel alive I feel...
It is not a habit, it is cool I feel alive

It's not a habit, it's cool, I feel alive
If you don't have it you're on the other side
I'm not an addict (maybe that's a lie)
I'm not an addict... I'm not an addict... I'm not an addict...

Come down off your throne
And leave your body alone
Somebody must change

You are the reason
I've been waiting so long
Somebody holds the key

Well I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and I can't find my way home

Come down own your own
And leave your body alone
Somebody must change

You are the reason
I've been waiting all these years
Somebody holds the key

I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
Oh and I'm wasted and I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
Still I can't find my way home
And I aint done nothing wrong
But I can't find my way home

JB adds:
Sometimes I feel like I just woke up so far from home
Sometimes I feel like a motherless child
Sometomes I feel like a bird up in the sky
Sometimes I just feel so far from home

Band: Jerry Garcia

Album: compliments of

song name: Mississippi Moon

Lyrics:
You tell me you're lonely, I know how you feel
Leaning up at the bars, rocking back on my heels
She's a wild bird that wanders, too easy to stray
I knew she had to lose me to find her own way

~Chorus~
Oh Corey, I'll be coming soon
Through the Louisiana pines to the Mississippi moon
Through the Louisiana pines to the Mississippi moon

A wave on the ocean, a whirlwind on the sand
I took a notion that her ship could not land
then light me a candle in the forest so deep
honey lay down here beside me, angels rock us to sleep

for some reason this always get stucks in my head

Culture Shock - Messed Up

Culture Shock - Messed Up

Me & you & we, messed up
Inside our heads it's a wounderful mess
What we really think is anyone's guess
That's why we say "No" when we really mean "Yes'
Keeping our egos one step ahead
And you can't trust anyone really
Cos they don't know how you're feeling
Put the walls up to the ceiling
So the world can't hear you breathing

Me & you & we, messed up
Watching the rest of the world stay back
Faces distorting the fiction to facts
Making the first move is mental attack
So we sit & have a nightmares - nightmares
As we relax
And you can't do anything really
Cos they watch you while you're dreaming
That's why we're scared of sleeping
Cos the world can hear you screaming

Messed, messed, messed, messed
Messed, messed, messed, messed

Me & you & we, messed up by
Social security
Split parent family
Playground violence
Immature male volence
Bully boy heroics
Jokes about spastics
Couldn't play fooball, couldn't play fooball, can't play fooball... didn't have sex
Funny face out of place
Nervous wrecks
Nervous wrecks
Nervous, nervous, ne-ne-Nervous
Nervous wreck

Me & you & we, all messed up
That's all of us & our social wars
Staring & twitching across the floor
When our eyes met it scared me to death
Until one of us smiles we'll all stay depressed
But then we'll all go on forever!
Because we're all messed up, together!
And there's no-one worse or better - no-one
Not then, not now, not never - never
Not then & not now & not never, ever

You - you
And me - and me
And we - and we - all messed up
You & me - you & me
Me & him - me & him
Him & her - him & her
Her & you, messed up - messed up - up - up

I & I, U & U, all of us - all of us
All of them, everyone you ever knew - all of us
Messed up! Messed up! Up, messed up! Up, up
And me & you we keep on smiling!

Good Day Sunshine

Good day sunshine, good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.
I need to laugh, and when the sun is out,
I’ve got something I can laugh about.
I feel good in a special way,
I’m in love, and it’s sunny day.
Good day sunshine, good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.
We take a walk, the sun is shining down,
Burns my feet as they touch the ground,
Good day sunshine, good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.
And then we lie beneath a shady tree,
I love her and she’s loving me.
She feels good, she knows she’s looking fine,
I’m so proud to know that she is mine.
Good day sunshine, good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.
Good day sunshine, good day sunshine.

Have a wonderful day everybody

The Devil Went Down To Jamaica

the devil went to jamaica
he was lookin' to sell some weed
he was doin' fine
they were standin' in line
it was excellent weed indeed
when he came across a young man
who was likewise peddelin' pot
and the devil slid down the beach to the kid
and said "boy lemme tell you what"
i guess you kinda figured i'm a reefer head of course
and after all this time
i guess that i'm
a connoisseur of sorts
now your stuff smells ok
but this could tranquilize a horse
i'll bet a million in cash
against your stash
coz i think mine's better than yours
the boy said "my name's johnny and you ain't smoked nothin' yet"
one hit of this grass
will kick your ass
you got yourself a bet
johnny roll a ball of hash
and make sure it's the bomb
coz the devil's got the kind of stuff
they smoked in vietnam
you'll get a million smackaroo's
in cash if you cash if you can cook,
but if you can't devil'll get your dope
the devil packed a bong
with a little acapulco gold
and resin flew from his fingertips
as he fired up his bowl
he filled that chamber all the way
and he took a mighty hit
as they passed it back and forth
it gave'em both a coughin' fit
when the bowl was finished johnny said
"hey man that stuff was great"
but fill your lungs with some of this
and prepare to vegetate
cannabis,apeeva,sweet mary jane
the devil's in the back yard fryin' his brain
zig zag filled with a diggity dang
hold on tight it'll hit you like a tank
the devil nodded off because he knew that he was stoned
and he asked if he could buy an ounce of the stuff that johnny owned.
johnny said "devil just come on back if you ever wanna catch a buzz"
i done told you once you son of a bitch,
mine's the best there ever was
then they
fired up doobies one by one,
ain't gonna stop 'til the bag's done
green as a bullfrog,
sticky as glue
granted you'll get high,
yes i do

Wildwood Weed
Jim Stafford

The wildwood flower grew wild on the farm,
And we never knowed what it was called.
Some said it was a flower and some said it was weed,
I never gave it much thought ......
One day I was out there talking to my brother,
Reached down for a weed to chew on,
Things got fuzzy and things got blurry,
And then everything was gone!
Didn't know what happened,
But I knew it beat the hell out of sniffin' burlap.

I come to and my brother was there,
And he said, What's wrong with your eyes?
I said, I don't know, I was chewing on a weed.
He said, Let me give it a try.
We spent the rest of that day and most of that night,
Trying to find my brother, Bill.
Caught up with him, 'bout six o'clock the next morning,
Naked, swinging on the wind mill!
He said he flew up there.
I had to fly up there and bring him down,
He was about half crazy .....

The very next day we picked a bunch of them weeds,
And put 'em in the sun to dry.
Then we mashed 'em up and chopped 'em up,
And put 'em in the corncob pipe.
Smokin' that wildwood flower got to be a habit,
We didn't see no harm.
We thought it was kind of handy,
Take a trip and never leave the farm!

All good things gotta come to an end,
And it's the same with the wildwood weed.
One day this feller from Washington came by,
And he spied it and turned white as a sheet.
Then they dug and they burned,
And they burned and they dug,
And they killed all our cute little weeds.
Then they drove away,
We just smiled and waved ..........
Sittin' there on that sack of seeds!

Y'all come back now, hear?

{Note: I reckon its not really part of the lyrics, but I love the line in the recording about, "A big old puff of that Wildwood Weed, and next thing you know, you're just wanderin' around behind the little animals!"}

Brand New Colony

I'll be the grapes fermented,
Bottled and served with the table set in my finest suit
Like a perfect gentlemen
I'll be the fire escape that's bolted to the ancient brick
Where you will sit and contemplate your day

I'll be the waterwings that save you if you start drowning
In an open tab when your judgement's on the brink
I'll be the phonograph that plays your favorite
Albums back as your lying there drifting off to sleep...
I'll be the platform shoes and undo what heredity's done to you...
You won't have to strain to look into my eyes
I'll be your winter coat buttoned and zippedstraight to the throat
With the collar up so you won't catch a cold

I want to take you far from the cynics in this town
And kiss you on the mouth
We'll cut out bodies free from the tethers of this scene,
Start a brand new colony
Where everything will change,
We'll give ourselves new names (identities erased)
The sun will heat the grounds
Under our bare feet in this brand new colony
Everything will change, oOo oOo...

Illegal Smile
When I woke up this morning, things were lookin' bad
Seem like total silence was the only friend I had
Bowl of oatmeal tried to stare me down... and won
And it was twelve o'clock before I realized
That I was havin' .. no fun

Chorus:
But fortunately I have the key to escape reality
And you may see me tonight with an illegal smile
It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while
Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone
No I'm just tryin' to have me some fun

Last time I checked my bankroll,
It was gettin' thin
Sometimes it seems like the bottom
Is the only place I've been
I Chased a rainbow down a one-way street... dead end
And all my friends turned out to be insurance salesmen

Repeat Chorus:

Well, I sat down in my closet with all my overalls
Tryin' to get away
From all the ears inside my walls
I dreamed the police heard
Everything I thought... what then?
Well I went to court
And the judge's name was Hoffman

Ah but fortunately I have the key to escape reality
And you may see me tonight with an illegal smile
It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while
Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone
No I'm just tryin' to have me some fun
Well done, hot dog bun, my sister's a nun

John Prine Sam Stone

Sam Stone came home,
To his wife and family
After serving in the conflict overseas.
And the time that he served,
Had shattered all his nerves,
And left a little shrapnel in his knee.
But the morphine eased the pain,
And the grass grew round his brain,
And gave him all the confidence he lacked,
With a Purple Heart and a monkey on his back.

Chorus:
There's a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes,
Jesus Christ died for nothin' I suppose.
Little pitchers have big ears,
Don't stop to count the years,
Sweet songs never last too long on broken radios.
Mmm....

Sam Stone's welcome home
Didn't last too long.
He went to work when he'd spent his last dime
And Sammy took to stealing
When he got that empty feeling
For a hundred dollar habit without overtime.
And the gold rolled through his veins
Like a thousand railroad trains,
And eased his mind in the hours that he chose,
While the kids ran around wearin' other peoples' clothes...

Repeat Chorus:

Sam Stone was alone
When he popped his last balloon
Climbing walls while sitting in a chair
Well, he played his last request
While the room smelled just like death
With an overdose hovering in the air
But life had lost its fun
And there was nothing to be done
But trade his house that he bought on the G, I. Bill
For a flag draped casket on a local heroes' hill

Repeat Chorus

John Prine souvenirs For Steve Goodman

All the snow has turned to water,
Christmas days have come and gone.
Broken toys and faded colours are all that's left to linger on.
I hate graveyards and old pawn shops,
For they always bring me tears.
I can't forgive the way they robbed me of my childhood souvenirs.

Memories, they can't be boughten.
They can't be won at carnivals for free.
Well it took me years to get those souvenirs,
And i don't know how they slipped away from me.

Broken hearts and dirty windows
Make life difficult to see.
That's why last night and this morning
Always look the same to me.
And I hate reading old love letters
For they always bring me tears.
I can't forget the way they robbed me,
Of my sweetheart's souvenirs.

Memories they can't be boughten,
They can't be won at carnivals for free.
Well it took me years to get those souvenirs
And i don't know how they slipped away from me.

John Prine (suprise.) Your flag decal wont get you into Heaven any more

Your Flag Decal Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore
While digesting Reader's Digest
In the back of a dirty book store,
A plastic flag, with gum on the back,
Fell out on the floor.
Well, I picked it up and I ran outside
Slapped it on my window shield,
And if I could see old Betsy Ross
I'd tell her how good I feel.

Chorus:
But your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
They're already overcrowded
From your dirty little war.
Now Jesus don't like killin'
No matter what the reason's for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.

Well, I went to the bank this morning
And the cashier he said to me,
"If you join the Christmas club
We'll give you ten of them flags for free."
Well, I didn't mess around a bit
I took him up on what he said.
And I stuck them stickers all over my car
And one on my wife's forehead.

Repeat Chorus:

Well, I got my window shield so filled
With flags I couldn't see.
So, I ran the car upside a curb
And right into a tree.
By the time they got a doctor down
I was already dead.
And I'll never understand why the man
Standing in the Pearly Gates said...

"But your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
We're already overcrowded
From your dirty little war.
Now Jesus don't like killin'
No matter what the reason's for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more."

Jerry Reed Amos Moses
Primus covers this one very well!
Amos Moses
Jerry Reed

Yay! Here comes Amos!
Now Amos Moses was a Cajun.
He lived by hisself in the swamp.
He hunted alligator for a livin';
He'd just knock them in the head with a stump.
The Louisiana law gonna get you, Amos.
It ain't legal hunting alligator down in the swamp, boy!

Now everybody blamed his old man
For making him mean as a snake:
When Amos Moses was a boy
His daddy would use him for alligator bait- Tie a rope around his waist and throw him in the swamp! (Ha-ha-ha!) Alligator bait in the Louisiana bayou!
About forty-five minutes southeast of Thibodeaux, Louisiana Lived a man called Doc Mills South and his pretty wife Hannah.
Well, they raised up a son that could eat up his weight in groceries- Named him after a man of the cloth; Called him Amos Moses. (Yay! Ha-ha!)

Now the folks around south Louisiana
Said Amos was a hell of a man-
He could trap the biggest, the meanest alligator And just use one hand.
That's all he got left 'cau' de alligator bit it! (Ha-ha-ha!) Left arm gone clean up to the elbow!

Well the sheriff caught wind that Amos
Was in the swamp trappin' alligator skin, So he snuck in the swamp: "Gonna get de boy,"
But he never came out again.
Well, I wonder where the Louisiana sheriff went to . . .
Well you can sure get lost in the Louisiana bayou!
About forty-five minutes southeast of Thibodeaux, Louisiana Lived a cat called Doc Mills South and his pretty wife Hannah.
Well, they raised up a son that could eat up his weight in groceries- Named him after a man of the cloth; Called him Amos Moses!

Sit down on 'em, Amos!
Make it count, son!
About forty-five minutes southeast of Thibodeaux, Louisiana . . .

Johnny Cash Long Black Veil

Ten years ago, on a cold dark night
Someone was killed, 'neath the town hall light
There were few at the scene, but they all agreed
That the slayer who ran, looked a lot like me

The judge said son, what is your alibi
If you were somewhere else, then you won't have to die
I spoke not a word, thou it meant my life
For I'd been in the arms of my best friend's wife

Chorus
She walks these hills in a long black veil
She visits my grave when the night winds wail
Nobody knows, nobody sees
Nobody knows but me

Oh, the scaffold is high and eternity's near
She stood in the crowd and shed not a tear
But late at night, when the north wind blows
In a long black veil, she cries ov're my bones

Repeat Chorus

I think this is from the American Beauty Album (i think)
Greatful Dead
Friend of the Devil
-------------------

I lit out from Reno, I was trailed by twenty hounds.
Didn't get to sleep that night 'til the morning came around.

Set out runnin', but I take my time.
A friend of the Devil is a friend of mine.
I get home before daylight, just might get some sleep tonight.

Ran into the Devil, babe, he loaned me twenty bills.
He spent the night in Utah in a cave up in the hills.

Set out runnin', but I take my time.
A friend of the Devil is a friend of mine.
I get home before daylight, just might get some sleep tonight.

I ran down to the levee, but the Devil caught me there;
Took my twenty dollar bill and vanished in the air.

Set out runnin', but I take my time.
A friend of the Devil is a friend of mine.
I get home before daylight, just might get some sleep tonight.

Got two reasons why I cry away each lonely night;
The first one's named sweet Anne Marie, and she's my heart's delight.
Second one is prison, baby, the sheriff's on my trail
And if he catches up with me, I'll spend my life in jail.

Got a wife in Chino, babe, and one in Cherokee.
First one say she's got my child, but then it don't look like me.

Set out runnin', but I take my time.
A friend of the Devil is a friend of mine.
I get home before daylight, just might get some sleep tonight.

Got two reasons why I cry away each lonely night;

You can borrow from the devil
You can borrow from a friend
the Devil give you twenty
and a friend will give you ten

Set ou runnin', but I take my time
A friend of the Devil is a friend of mine.
If I get home before daylight, just might get some sleep
tonight
