Song- For Yasgur's Farm
---------------------------

Who am i but you and the sun
A sad reflection in everyone
Was it me who let you walk away
Were you the one
Or is it we're the same

What are we in time going by
The simple story of a younger life
Happy dreams and somehow through the day
We haven't come so far to lose our way

Look at me, i believe it's true
You're a part of me
I'm a part of you

Love is only what we come to knew
The walking, breathing and all with you
A crystal passing reflected in our eyes
Eclipsing all the jealousy and lies

Look at me, can't you see it's true
You're a part of me
I'm a part of you

Quiet as the voices in a dream
Without two shadows the things i've seen
Remember the evening i let you walk away
Were you the one
Or is it we're the same

Look at me, i believe it's true
You're a part of me
I'm a part of you

Bruce Cockburn, once a small-time Canadian lyricist and guitarist, musician extraordinaire, (he's from Ontario, though he once played a benefit in Dawson City, Yukon for $6.00/head, as well as playing the Farago Folk Festival in Faro, Yukon Territory in the late 70s) had been engaging in a world-wide tour to help fund the movement to end the violence in Nicaragua and El Salvador. He was touring by bus mostly, giving 100% of the proceeds, beyond costs, to the Peace in Central America folks, CISPES & PJALS. Both of whom were facing covert actions by the Feds for their peace-oriented interference in foreign policy and the associated (illegal) warfare.

He played the Paramount Theatre a couple nights sometime in the Fall of 1987. I still have the T-shirt. It doesn't fit anymore, and I'm donating it to another Bruce C. fan soon..

We arrived at the Paramount, and there were artisans from Central America weaving rugs and creating other 'goods' on the side-walk, vending crafts to fund the peace movement in C. Amerika.

It was incredible. Virtually a one-man orchestra; Bruce in this nearly-ancient theatre venue, and a stand of bells and pipes that he would kick in various plaes to extract specific sounds, while alternately playing a variety of electric and accoustic guitars. On 'Stolen Land,' he incorporated a Native drummer and traditional drum as his sole additional accompaniment.

The song below was banned on 'some' U.S. radio stations, and was written following Bruce Cockburn's spending some time in various refugee camps in C. Amerika, often times tending to or observing the children there, some of whom were badly injured during Ronnie Ray-gun's illegal war(s) that he worked through Poindexter and Ollie North.

Song- If I Had a Rocket Launcher

Album- Stealing Fire

Artist- Bruce Cockburn

Date- Sometime in the early mid-80s
-------------------------------

Here comes the helicopter --
second time today
Everybody scatters
and hopes it goes away
How many kids they've murdered
only God can say
If I had a rocket launcher...
I'd make somebody pay

I don't believe in guarded borders
and I don't believe in hate
I don't believe in generals
or their stinking torture states
And when I talk with the survivors
of things too sickening to relate
If I had a rocket launcher...
I would retaliate

On the Rio Lacantun,
one hundred thousand wait
To fall down from starvation --
or some less humane fate
Cry for guatemala,
with a corpse in every gate
If I had a rocket launcher...
I would not hesitate

I want to raise every voice --
at least I've got to try
Every time I think about it
water rises to my eyes.
Situation desperate,
echoes of the victims cry
If I had a rocket launcher...
Some son of a bitch would die

Have You Ever Been Experienced ( To Electric Ladyland )

Have you ever been (have you ever been) to Electric Ladyland?
The magic carpet waits for you so don't you be late
Oh, (I wanna show you) the different emotions
(I wanna run to) the sounds and motions
Electric woman waits for you and me
So it's time we take a ride, we can cast all of your hang-ups over
the seaside
While we fly right over the love filled sea
Look up ahead, I see the loveland, soon you'll understand.

Make love, make love, make love, make love.

The angels will spread their wings, spread their wings
Good and evil lay side by side while electric love penetrates the sky
Lord, Lord I wanna show you
Hmm, hmmm, hmmm
Show you

Don’t Close Your Mind

(Chorus)
Don’t close your mind
There are places yet to be found
In space and time
Places where there are no limits or bounds

Happiness beyond your fondest dreams
Trivial move so it seems
Make them take away the screen

Don’t close your mind
Don’t close your mind

A life where giants seem so small
A life where midgets can be tall
A life where you can handle all

(Chorus)

Happiness beyond your fondest dreams
Trivial move so they seem
Make them take away the screen

Don’t close your mind, don’t close your mind
Don’t close your mind, don’t close your mind
Don't close your mind

A life where giants seem so small
A life where midgets can be tall
A life where you can handle all
I love you

The Coup - We Are The Ones

[Chorus=
We - we are the ones
We'll seal your fate, tear down your state, go get yo' guns
We - we came to fight
It's yo' disgrace, smash up your place, that's just polite]

***
Once upon a time when crack was gold
And hip-hop was not yet platinum sold
I scoured the streets for stacks to fold
My mood like my hair was relaxed and blowed
I hated police and my teachers were beasts
My heat in the trunk of the classic Caprice
The one university, I knew the deal
So I cooked it, bagged it, put it on sale

Now philosophically you'd be opposed
to one inhaling coke via mouth or the nose
But economically I would propose
that you go eat a dick as employment froze
And I felt like an abandoned child
Left to fend for myself in the wild

While every courtroom, judge and gavel
were there to bury me under the gravel
Or at the bottom of the finest malt ale
Observe; you'll find without fail
That in every neighborhood and penitentiary
There exists many others who are similar to me and

In later years I lost some peers
Who mixed burners with Belvedere
And took shots from gung-ho cashiers
The world was cold yet hell was near
So I seek for a kilo
And my stack got a little bit taller like Skee-Lo
A street CEO
There was all of this hell well and not one hero

The intensity was fortified
As I clenched five digits on the forty-five
Barely down at the retail store, I would detail more
But I don't wish this action to be glorified
There was a plan I was eager to listen
To not sleep in the park in the fetal position
Having to wipe off canine fecal emission
Otherwise I'd survive without legal permission

It's an equal division and then we go to prison, which is a little decision
All I wanted was a Regal to glisten
And my kids would have meat in the kitchen and complete ammunition
It's a given once the people are driven that

Get your work up! Get your work up!

We are born from the mildew, the rust, the heathenous lust
The dreams in the dust, the evidence flushed
The grieving is just, they're thieving from us
Insulted and cussed, this evening we bust
Appears unstable and under the table
We like free speech, but we love free cable
We're taught from the cradle the Bill Gates fable
Which leads to high speeds in Buick LeSables

We have no excuses just great alibis
And poker faces you can't analyze
Our politicians sell our soul and our cries
With blood on their hands they can't sanitize
We're the have-nots, but we're also the gon'-gets
Not just talkin 'bout the Lex with the chrome kits
You can get that by yourself with the four-fifth
Let's all own shit then toast with Patron hits

Curtis Mayfield - Move On Up

Hush now child,
and don't you cry
Your folks might understand you
by and by
Move on up
towards your destination
You may find
from time to time
Complications

Bight your lip
and take a trip
Though there may be
wet road ahead
You cannot slip
So move on up
and peace you will find
Into the steeple
of beautiful people
Where there's only one kind

So hush now child
and don't you cry
Your folks might understand you
by and by
Just move on up
and keep on wishing
Remember your dreams
are your only schemes
So keep on pushing
Take nothing less -
not even second best
And do not obey -
you must have your say
You can past the test

Move on up!

masters of war

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

I'm Shady

Who came through with two glocks to terrorize your borough (huh?)
Told you how to slap dicks and murder your girl (I did!)
Gave you all the finger and told you to sit and twirl
Sold a billion tapes and still screamed, "Fuck the world!"
(I'm Slim Shady..) so come and kill me while my name's hot
And shoot me twenty-five times in the same spot (Ow!)
I think I got a generation brainwashed
to pop pills and smoke pot til they brains rot (uhh-oh)
Stop they blood flow until they veins clot
I need a pain shot, and a shot of plain scotch
Purple haze and acid raindrops
Spike the punch at the party and drink pop (gulp gulp)
Shaved my armpits and wore a tank top
Bad Boy, I told you that I can't stop
You gotta make em fear you 'fore you make em feel you
So everybody buy my shit or I'ma come and kill you

I got mushrooms, I got acid, I got tabs and aspirin tablets
I'm your brother when you need, some good weed to set you free
You know me, I'm your friend, when you need a minithin
(I'm Slim Shady..) I'm Shady!!

[Eminem]
I like happy things, I'm really calm and peaceful (uh-huh huh)
I like birds, bees, I like people
I like funny things that make me happy and gleeful (hehehe)
like when my teacher sucked my wee-wee in preschool (Woo!)
The ill type, I stab myself with a steel spike
while I blow my brain out, just to see what it feels like
cause this is how I am in real life (mm-hmm)
I don't want to just die a normal death, I wanna be killed twice (uh-huh)
How you gonna scare somebody with a gun threat
when they high off of drugs they haven't even done yet (Huh?)
So bring the money by tonight - cause your wife
said this the biggest knife she ever saw in her life (Help me! Help me!)
I try to keep it positive and play it cool
Shoot up the playground and tell the kids to stay in school (Stay in school!)
Cause I'm the one they can relate to and look up to better
Tonight I think I'll write my biggest fan a fuck you letter

I got mushrooms, I got acid, I got tabs and aspirin tablets
I'm your brother when you need, some good weed to set you free
You know me, I'm your friend, when you need a minithin
(I'm Slim Shady..) I'm Shady!!

[Eminem]
Yo.. I listen to your demo tape and act like I don't like it
(Aww that shit is wack!)
Six months later you hear your lyrics on my shit
(What?? That's my shit!)
People don't buy shit no more they just dub it
That's why I'm still broke and had the number one club hit (Yup, uh huh)
But they love it when you make your business public
so fuck it, I've got herpes while we on the subject (uh-huh)
And if I told you I had AIDS y'all would play it
cause you stupid motherfuckers think I'm playin when I say it
-- Well, I do take pills, don't do speed
Don't do crack (uh-uhh) don't do coke, I do smoke weed (uh-huh)
Don't do smack, I do do shrooms, do drink beer (yup)
I just wanna make a few things clear
My baby mama's not dead (uh-uhh) she's still alive and bitchin (yup)
And I don't have herpes, my dick's just itchin
It's not syphilis, and as for being AIDS infested
I don't know yet, I'm too scared to get tested

I got mushrooms, I got acid, I got tabs and aspirin tablets
I'm your brother when you need, some good weed to set you free
You know me, I'm your friend, when you need a minithin
(I'm Slim Shady..) I'm Shady!!
(Ha hah-ha, ha! Ha hah, hah..) I told you I was Shady!!
(Ha hah-ha, hah-ha! Ha hah, hah-ha, hah-ha, hah-ha)
Y'all didn't wanna believe me!
I'm Shady!!

People get ready
There's a train a commin'
You don't need no baggage
You just get on board
All you need is faith
To hear the diesels hummin'
You don't need no ticket
You just thank the lord

So people get ready
There'a a train to Jordan
Picking up passengers
Coast to coast
Faith is the key
Open the doors and board them
There's hope for all
Among those loved the most

There ain't no room
For the hopeless sinner
Whom would hurt all mankind
Just to save his own
Have pitty on those whose
Chances grow thinner
For there is no hiding place
Against the kingdom's throne

People get ready
There's a train a commin'
You don't need no baggage
You just get on board
All you need is faith
To hear the diesels hummin'
You don't need no ticket
You just thank the lord

Open your heart and let the sunshine in
Open your heart, let the sunshine in

Sun is shining on my world
Sun is in my shoes
While I´m passin´ through this life
This job is spent with you
Wrap my dreams in silver paper
Gonna give them all to you
Use them on some rainy morning
And they´ll tell you what to do

Open your heart and let the sunshine in
Open your heart, let the sunshine in
Open your heart and let the sunshine in
Open up your heart and let the sunshine in

Life is what you´re reaching through
When your path is spied
Wait until some rainy morning
You´ll be satisfied
Gonna wrap my dreams in silver paper
Give it all to you
Use it on some rainy morning
It´ll tell you what to do

Open your heart and let the sunshine in
Open your heart, let the sunshine in

Steppenwolf - "The Second" - 1968

Steppenwolf - "The Second" - 1968

DON'T STEP ON THE GRASS, SAM

Words and music by John Kay

Starin' at the boob tube, turnin' on the big knob
Tryin' to find some life in the waste land
Fin'ly found a program, gonna deal with Mary Jane
Ready for a trip into hate land
Obnoxious Joe comes on the screen
Along with his guest self-righteous Sam
And one more guy who doesn't count
His hair and clothes are too far out

While pushin' back his glasses Sam is sayin' casually
"I was elected by the masses"
And with that in mind he starts to unwind
A vicious attack on the finest of grasses

Well it's evil, wicked, mean and nasty
(Don't step on the grass, Sam)
And it will ruin our fair country
(Don't be such an ass, Sam)
Well, it will hook your Sue and Johnny
(You're so full of bull, Sam)
All will pay that disagree with me
(Please give up you already lost the fight, alright)

Misinformation Sam and Joe
Are feeding to the nation
But the one who didn't count counted them out
By exposing all their false quotations
Faced by a very awkward situation
This is all he'd say to save the day

Well it's evil, wicked, mean and nasty
(Don't step on the grass, Sam)
And it will ruin our fair country
(Don't be such an ass, Sam)
Well, it will hook your Sue and Johnny
(You're so full of bull, Sam)
All will pay that disagree with me
(Please give up you already lost the fight alright)

You waste my coin Sam, all you can
To jail my fellow man
For smoking all the noble weed
You need much more than him
You've been telling lies so long
Some believe they're true
So they close their eyes to things
You have no right to do
Just as soon as you are gone
Hope will start to climb
Please don't stay around too long
You're wasting precious time

Repeat Chorus

Album: In The Falling Dark

Song: Gavin's Wood Pile

Year: 1975
-------------------------------
working out on Gavin's woodpile
safe within the harmony of kin
visions begin to crowd my eyes
like a meteor shower in the autumn skies
and the soil beneath me seems to moan
with a sound like the wind through a hollow bone
and my mind fills with figures like Lappish runes of power...
and log slams on rough-hewn log
and a voice from somewhere scolds a barking dog.

i remember a bleak-eyed prisoner
in the Stoney Mountain life-suspension home
you drink and fight and damage someone
and they throw you away for some years of boredom
one year done and five more to go --
no job waiting so no parole
and over and over they tell you that you're nothing...
and i toss another log on Gavin's woodpile
and wonder at the lamp-warm window's welcome smile.

i remember crackling embers
coloured windows shining through the rain
like the coloured slicks on the English River
death in the marrow and death in the liver
and some government gambler with his mouth full of steak
saying "if you can't eat the fish, fish in some other lake.
To watch a people die -- it is no new thing."
and the stack of wood grows higher and higher
and a helpless rage seems to set my brain on fire.

and everywhere the free space fills
like a punctured diving suit and i'm
paralyzed in the face of it all
cursed with the curse of these modern times

distant mountains, blue and liquid,
luminous like a thickening of sky
flash in my mind like a stairway to life --
a train whistle cuts through the scene like a knife
three hawks wheel in a dazzling sky --
a slow motion jet makes them look like a lie
and i'm left to conclude there's no human answer near...
but there's a narrow path to a life to come
that explodes into sight with the power of the sun.

a mist rises as the sun goes down
and the light that's left forms a kind of crown
the earth is bread, the sun is wine
it's a sign of a hope that's ours for all time.

(Burritt's Rapids, November 17, 1975)

(* "Lappish runes" -- Lapp Shamans covered their drums with striking magical symbols, which were then used to divine, contact spirits, etc.)
(* "English River" -- river system in north-western Ontario, polluted with mercury for the next hundred years by the Reid paper company. Nobody is doing much about the fact that the native people who live along its course have lost both food and livelihood.

Another amazing old Bruce Cockburn song.

30+ years ago I used to sing this song while hitch-hiking, walking along the highway, often with a 70 lb pack and a 30 lb. duffle, along with my old Norwegian Elkhound; she was a sweety. Simple and free times. Adventure and few constraints.

Oh i have been a beggar
and shall be one again
and few the ones with help to lend
within the world of men.
One day i walk in flowers
one day i walk on stones
today i walk in hours
one day i shall be home

I have sat on the street corner
and watched the bootheels shine
and cried out glad and cried out sad
with every voice but mine.
One day i walk in flowers
one day i walk on stones
today i walk in hours
one day i shall be home
one day i shall be home

It's still a journey, and, in some ways, I've been sitting too long. Hope that I make it...

you can't judge a man by his race
birth don't come easy
freedom doesn't come cheap
rules and worlds get swept away
while you waste your time in sleep

(refrain)> Grow up you
grow up me
grown together
free to be.

There's music in the forest
children laugh in the school yard
on the skid row of the spirit
hear the ranting of the Western Guard
why don't you cool out
can it be so hard
to love yourself without thinking
someone else holds a lower card

(refrain))> Grow up you
grow up me
grown together
free to be

Wired to the switchboard
always on the move
things we love to cling to
but there's nothing we can prove
you can only deal with
what's before your face
and the life you're given's no use at all
if you burn it up in hate

Year: Even Foggier Early 70s
----------------------------------------

standing on a rock in a river
staring at the splintered sun
you could drown yourself in jewels
like a thousand other fools
while you stand there looking down at what you've won.

sitting on a mountain of ashes
face to face with past regrets
you could roll down to the canyon
piss away this incarnation
but remember that you pay for what you get.

and he says "but don't you know
how hard it is
to hit the ground and mean it,
and mean it?"

walk the jangling streets of the city
trying to find the buried sun
you could drown yourself in jewels
like a thousand other fools
while you wander, waiting for it to be done.

and he cries "why don't we celebrate?
why don't we celebrate?
love can make you sad
come on, let's drive ourselves mad."

and he's aware
how hard it is
to kiss the sun and mean it,
and mean it.

and he screams "why don't we celebrate?
why don't we celebrate?
life can make you sad
come on, let's drive ourselves mad."

standing on a rock in a river
staring at the rain made one
on the surface flashing diamonds
rolling down the twilight canyon,
and we shall kiss the sun in spite of him

so why don't we celebrate?
why don't we celebrate?
why don't we celebrate?

Lyrics:

All is quiet on New Year's Day.
A world in white gets underway.
I want to be with you, be with you night and day.
Nothing changes on New Year's Day.
On New Year's Day.

I... will be with you again.
I... will be with you again.

Under a blood-red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspaper says, says
Say it's true, it's true...
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one.

I... I will begin again
I... I will begin again.

Oh, oh. Oh, oh. Oh, oh.
Oh, maybe the time is right.
Oh, maybe tonight.
I will be with you again.
I will be with you again.

And so we are told this is the golden age
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day

Band: Enigma
Album: Le Roi est Mort, Vive le Roi!
Song: Beyond The Invisible
Lyrics:

I look into the mirror
See myself, I'm over me
I need space for my desires
Have to dive into my fantasies

I know as soon as I'll arrive
Everything is possible
Cause no one has to hide
Beyond the invisible

Sajaja bramani totari ta, raitata raitata, radu ridu raitata, rota

Band: Enigma
Album: Screen Behind the Mirror
Song: Push the Limits
Lyrics:

Basic instincts, social life
Paradoxes side by side

Don't submit to stupid rules
Be yourself and not a fool
Don't accept average habits
Open your heart and push the limits

Open your heart (echoes)
And push the limits (echoes)

Band: Enigma
Album: Screen Behind the Mirror
Song: Between Mind & Heart
Lyrics:

It's hard to find the balance when you are in love.
You're lost in the middle cause you have to decide between mind & heart.

HEART is the engine of your body but BRAIN is the engine of your life.

between mind & heart
between mind & heart
between mind & heart

Band: Enigma
Album: Voyageur
Song: Boum Boum
Lyrics:

My heart goes Boum Boum Boum
Every time I think of you
Heart's going Boum Boum Boum
Lost control what shall I do?

Cos I wanna be your lover
Till the end of our lives
I could never miss again
These loving eyes

My heart goes Boum Boum Boum
Every time I think of you
I feel that Boum Boum Boum
No control of what I'll do

Simplicity, complexity, oh what a tragedy
Reality, insanity, strange normality
Incredible, untouchable, but just visual
And I want you, just you but natural

My heart goes Boum Boum Boum
When any mind is touching you
Inside that Boum Boum
Only light inside my gloom

Band: Enigma
Album: Voyageur
Song: In the Shadow, In the Light
Lyrics:

I promise you, for all my life
I'll be Always on your side
In the shadow, in the light.

I'll follow you, wherever life goes
But I'll always be aside
In the shadow, in the light.

But if we don't understand…
Hell is happy, heaven is sad
And that's the result of our brain…
Insane…

Caravan of life
By day and by night
Every tile's a part of life
If it's shadow, or if it's light

I promise you, even when the tide is high
I'll be always on your side
In the shadow, in the light

Band: Enigma
Album: Voyageur
Song: Following the Sun
Lyrics:

Following The Sun, To Find The One
Who`s Giving You The Wings To Fly
Following The Sun, The Golden One
Losing Sense For Space and Time

Can You Feel The Waves Of Life
(Can You) Hear The Sigh Of Love
Do You Believe In It ?

Following The Sun, Just For The One
Till You`ll Find The Door You Thought
Following The Sun, Like Everyone
Searching For A Sign Of Hope

Have A Look Up To The Sky
See The Billion Stars Above
Cos (Maybe) On One Of Them
You`ll Spend Your Further Life

Some of my favorite oldies----

Band: Brewer & Shipley
Album: (uh...not quite sure....)
Song:One Toke Over The Line
Lyrics:

One toke over the line sweet Jesus
One toke over the line
Sittin' downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

Awaitin' for the train that goes home, sweet Mary
Hopin' that the train is on time
Sittin' downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

Whoooo do you love, I hope it's me
I've bin a changin', as you can plainly see
I felt the joy and I learned about the pain that my momma said
If I should choose to make a part of me, surely strike me dead
Now I'm one toke over the line sweet Jesus
One toke over the line
Sittin' downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

I'm waitin' for the train that goes home sweet Mary
Hopin' that the train is on time
Sittin' downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

I bin away a country mile,
Now I'm returnin' showin' off a smile
I met all the girls and loved myself a few
Ended by surprise like everything else I've been through
It opened up my eyes and now I'm
One toke over the line sweet Jesus
One toke over the line
Sittin' downtown in a railway station

Don't you just know I waitin' for the train that goes home sweet Mary Hopin' that the train is on time
Sittin' downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

Don't you just know I waitin' for the train that goes home sweet Mary Hopin' that the train is on time
Sittin' downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

I want to be
One toke over the line sweet Jesus
One toke over the line
Sittin' downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

Don't you just know I waitin' for the train that goes home sweet Mary Hopin' that the train is on time
Sittin' downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line
Sittin' downtown in a railway station
One toke over line
One toke, one toke over the line

Band: Sam The Sham And The Pharaohs
Album: (again, not quite sure....)
Song: Li'l Red Riding Hood
Lyrics:

Owoooooooo!
Who's that I see walkin' in these woods?
Why, it's Little Red Riding Hood.
Hey there Little Red Riding Hood,
You sure are looking good.
You're everything a big bad wolf could want.
Listen to me.

Little Red Riding Hood
I don't think little big girls should
Go walking in these spooky old woods alone.
Owoooooooo!

What big eyes you have,
The kind of eyes that drive wolves mad.
So just to see that you don't get chased
I think I ought to walk with you for a ways.

What full lips you have.
They're sure to lure someone bad.
So until you get to grandma's place
I think you ought to walk with me and be safe.

I'm gonna keep my sheep suit on
Until I'm sure that you've been shown
That I can be trusted walking with you alone.
Owoooooooo!

Little Red Riding Hood
I'd like to hold you if I could
But you might think I'm a big bad wolf so I won't.
Owoooooooo!

What a big heart I have-the better to love you with.
Little Red Riding Hood
Even bad wolves can be good.
I'll try to be satisfied just to walk close by your side.
Maybe you'll see things my way before we get to grandma's place.

Little Red Riding Hood
You sure are looking good
You're everything that a big bad wolf could want.
Owoooooooo! I mean baaaaaa! Baaa?

Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival
Album: Cosmo's Factory
Song: Looking Out My Back Door
Lyrics:

Just got home from Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Got to sit down, take a rest on the porch.
Imagination sets in, pretty soon I'm singing,

Doo, doo, doo, Looking out my back door.
There's a giant doing cartwheels,
A statue wearing high heels.
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.
A dinosaur Victrola listening to Buck Owens.
Doo, doo, doo, Looking out my back door.

Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the flying spoon?
Doo, doo doo.
Wond'rous apparition provided by magician.
Doo, doo, doo, Looking out my back door.

Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the flying spoon?
Doo, doo doo.
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrows.
Doo, doo, doo, Looking out my back door.

Forward troubles Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrows.
Doo, doo, doo, Looking out my back door.

Band: Simon & Garfunkel
Album: (not quite sure)
Song: Cecilia
Lyrics:

Celia, you're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence daily
Oh, Cecilia, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you please to come home

Celia, you're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence daily
Oh, Cecilia, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you please to come home
Come on home

Making love in the afternoon with Cecilia
Up in my bedroom (making love)
I got up to wash my face
When I come back to bed
Someone's taken my place

Celia, you're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence daily
Oh, Cecilia, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you please to come home
Come on home

Jubilation,
She loves me again,
I fall on the floor and I laughing,

Jubilation,
She loves me again,
I fall on the floor and I'm laughing

Band: Zager & Evans
Album: (no clue)
Song: In the Year 2525
Lyrics:

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do, and say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing chew
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got not nothing to do
Some machine is doing that for you

In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube

In the year 7510
If God's a-comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
Guess it's time for the Judgement day

In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty head
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down and start again

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing

Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man's reign is through
But through the eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do or say
Is in the pill you took today ....(fading...)

Band: Choose from one of the following---Bruce Springsteen, Bill Withers, Uncle Kracker, Rod Stewart, Ringo Starr, etc etc---Damn near everyone's redone this song now. Although, I gotta admit, I like Uncle Kracker's remake a lot :D

Album:-----------------
Song: Drift Away
Lyrics:

Day after day I'm more confused
But I look for the light through the pourin' rain
You know, that's a game, that I hate to loose
I'm feelin' the strain, ain't it a shame

Give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

Won't you take me away

Beginin' to think, that I'm wastin' time
And I don't understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
I'm countin' on you, you can carry me through

Give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

Won't you take me away

And when my mind is free
You know your melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue
The guitars come through to soothe me

Thanks for the joy you've given me
I want you to know I believe in your song
And rhythm, and rhyme, and harmony
You helped me along, you're makin' me strong

Give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

Won't you take me away

Give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

Won't you take me away
