lol me too... and u said something about a final word. :spank:

i think some people are understanding me and others just sort of shrug it off! as far i am concerned, i hope that i am completely wrong about that little part affecting others' opinions. but with the type of things that actually do affect public opinion, and in some cases public action (ie Aqua Teen Hunger Force advertising), it still leaves me wondering about the general intelligence of the community at large.

Wow! Do you think they changed their minds about pot, and they now think it's bad? Have you ever seen this show before this episode? Seth McFarlane and at least half the writers smoke pot!! Jesus, how much more do you need? They smoke weed, okay. That's it, they can't be anti-pot when most of the writing staff smokes it and so does the majority of their fan base.

understand this.. and all i want is understanding

in general terms it's about the "swing vote" - those people who are skeptical whether their views of marijuana are leaning toward good or bad. i understand the general feeling that individuals are smart enough to accept it as a joke. but, i disagree with that sentiment. i point to our current conditions in the USA to show that we are NOT at a point mentally nor emotionally where we can see this type of information and process it properly. they won't see it as just a joke and will take it as real information. what's sad is people obviously do not have the common sense to at least look up this information because they STAY misinformed.

yes, it's sad people get their information from cartoons but it's the sad reality we live in these days!

yeah i agree at this point. everyone keeps questioning the same thing and i feel like i've gotta keep saying the same thing cuz no one wants to read! it's my thread so i won't leave it. but if someone brings up the same issue again, i'll just copy/paste!

This is not even the first thread that has disscussed how Family Guy is anti-marijuana. Been there heard this before. Yes, you are oppressed because of the laws regarding marijuana but being hyper sensitive about a cartoon is just dumb.

even knowin gen sentiment, i gotta say my 2 cents. this might require multiple posts.

while most of us are aware the staff is full of heads & attribute that as the basis of sayin they meant the comparison as a joke. what about folk who dont know the staff smokes? personally it makes me wonder if they were pressured to add such a comment.

as for learnin stuff from cartoons, it can be done. as w/ all TV it has to do w/ what you take from it. ya cant believe everything, but ya can sort thru it.

Let's write a book... "Everything I needed to Know in Life, I Learned From Cartoons"...

Then our tombstone can read "Here Lies Bill -- He Died Trying to Stop an Avalanche With a Little Umbrella, But the wabbit had misled Him"

Did you see that Animaniacs where they sang that song called "prom night dumpster baby," or the one where Meg gets banged in the ear so she can still be a virgin? How about that great Animaniacs where the lesbians go to the sperm bank to get an applicator shaped like Jodie Foster's knuckles? Who knew that there would be differences in a cartoon made for kids, and one made for adults?

Are you serious? Ha! Do you live in Quahog, RI? People do NOT get their information from Family Guy. They watch to be amused, not to learn important life lessons. Maybe you're thinking of another cartoon. Not Family Guy.

Animaniacs, eh? Lmfao, looks like Family Guy borrowed a few episodes from their book, then :biglaugh:

Seriously, though, I hope there was a show title joke in there somewhere that got skewed.....Otherwise, "Hellooooo, Nurse!" has a whole new meaning.

no i live on planet blank & i believe every thing i'm told & i follow in line & think we should mimic the jackarse dude... NOT!! but i do think many cartoons contain more than just mindless dribble, they work on so many levels. but thats just it, diff views.
