Brewing a tea right now. I didn't have any EWCs and there aren't any locally, so I just used compost and some molassas.

I was looking for this thread earlier but couldn't remember the title, this is very important information.

hey guys i bought a 30 site ez-cloner and i love it. i use Jumpstart (2 tsp per gallon) in the resovoir, dip the cuts in olivias gel, and foliar spray w/jumpstart (30ml per quart). Babies seem to love it i would recommend to anyone, its faster and has a higher success rate than any other method that ive tried.

Good to hear everyone is rockin the ez-cloners with good success. I was scared mine would be useless with the slime problem, but I am so glad the EWC tea really works to eradicate it.

Many successful clones to all of you :D

Honestly I really wouldn't consider it a waste unless you are very handy and can build something equal on your own. I mean, I don't think being absolutely confident a precious keeper plant you found is going to be saved and around for a long time, a waste. :smokeit:

oh yeah i totally agree with that! what i'm saying is...i've tried everything else, and this is by far the most expensive out of all my failed attempts/methods! i didn't mean it like "you guys wasted your money!", because i don't know! regardless, i'd love those kinds of rates/numbers :joint:

My diy aero cloner wasn't more than $60 including the pump. When you compare it to the cost of a couple hundred rapid rooters, its about the same but the aero cloner works much quicker.

What do you guys use to strain the tea with? I used a fine sifter but was thinking cheese cloth or stocking material. Just want to compare notes.

I also have good luck with 2 clones per puck. (60 per 30 site cloner) Unit pays for it's self in zero time.

I used a fish tank pump strainer but I am sure stockings would be just fine and I am glad the ewc tea is helping with your cloning maybe it does help them root better.

I know I am sold on ewc. I also add 29% H2o2 @ 3ml per gal. I went from 20 days to 8 days on average since started adding them. I did also crank the heater to 85.

But why on earth would you add h202? That will kill the whole reason of adding ewc tea as it will kill the beneficials as well as the bad stuff. It may or may not kill them all, but I know it kills. Glad what you are doing is working though.

I don't get it. EWC tea eliminated my slime problem (works perfect by the way), and my water was clear with a healthy earthy smell but still no roots. I tried 24 hours a day, 15 on/15 off, 8 on/22 off and maybe got a bump or two, but roots never developed. It kills me to see pics like the OP's, when I'm running basically the same conditions with 80 degree and clear water PHed to 6.1 and no nutes added.

I don't ever turn my pump off if that's what you are turning on and off? I know a lot of people do this but I have yet too. Don't forget clonex was used on the cuttings also and I let them soak in it just sitting in the top of the cloner with the pump off while I took all 60 of my cuttings (they won't go limp for a good bit so no worries I probably had them sitting there for an hour).

i do the same. let the cuts soak with the clonex while i take more cuts. i never turn my pump off, i dont see the point. this thing takes so much stress out of cloning..

For everyone who is asking how can i prevent algea from forming even at high temps. You need to get $3.98, go to walmart, in the aquarium section you will find MANY different "Water Conditioners". They clean all the bad stuff out of aquariums and stop green slime from ever forming, for only $4! I use AquaSafe, but Easybalance works just as good.
