Several of the moons around Saturn are thought to be water based under a couple KM of surface ice... Imagine a whole planet wide ocean existing for billions and billions of years just like our planet earth... there has to be life, maybe not on every "water bearing" planet but out of the trillions and trillions (not billions and billions... there are billions and billions of STARS in our milky way galaxy alone, well over 100 BILLION) were talking very probable.

The statitistics

4) The number of stars that have planetary systems. The original extra-solar system planet hunting technology dictated that a star needed to be to close to us for a planet to be detected, usually by the stars 'wobble'. Better technology that allows us to measure the dimming of a stars brightness when a planet crosses its disk has now revolutionised planet hunting and new planets are being discovered at an ever increasing rate. So far (August 2003) around 100 have been discovered so we have very little data to work on for this estimate. Even so, most cosmologists believe that planetary formation around a star is quite common place. For the sake of argument let us say it's not and rate it at only one in a million and only one planet in each system, as we want a conservative estimate, not an exaggerated one. That calculation results in:
10,000,000,000,000,000 planets in the universe. Ten million, billion, as a conservative estimate.
5) The number planets capable of supporting life. Let's assume that this is very rare among planets and rate it at only one in a million. Simple division results in:
10,000,000,000 planets in the universe capable of producing life. Ten billion!

Yes that is a very excellent logical explanation for possibility of life out there. Like others said here... we humans are proof of ET life because our ash and dust came to be from space. There are plenty of unknown life forms deep underwater that could easily pass as ET life form.

I strongly believe that the truth lies in numbers itself. Generally speaking it's an analog or digital spectrum. Analog is all grey area which is your thoughts that always change. Digital is your action that you vibrate out in the real world that has actual mathematical effects. That's how everybody in the past and present effect each others.

When you read all 5 parts. You can see recent entries in his article. Time travel relies upon travelling at a speed that is vastly different from the place that you wish to travel to a different time in. We all time travel but only very slowly and in one direction. The only way to reconcile time travel in the conventional sense and the laws of physics, is to accept the mutliverse theory. The problem then arises that the universe that you emerge in after your travels is a different universe than the one you left. If you could travel within the same universe in a backwards direction, then there would be no need to, as what you set out to do, would already have been done, making the journey unecessary.

We're still changing physics. Even the most fundamental things like force and gravity we have a very basic understanding of, and actually physicists and scientists are playing with ideas of manipulating gravity (which would obviously lead to elementary forms of space travel). I said last post dude, we're still revising what Newton and Einstein figured out.

The Universe is many billlions years old.
The Earth is many billions years old.
Hominids are millions years old.
Modern physics as we understand them now is only a COUPLE HUNDRED years old!!!! Come on man think about that. Now, take into account the book Probability 1. (go read it NOW). Now lets say that simply 1 planet started "maturing" a few billions years before us, and maybe had better luck with asteroids than Earth... so they could have anywhere from billions of years to millions of years to thousands of years HEAD START on the idea of what we call "modern physics."

And with that, what I think is incredibly important, would come the understanding of Black Holes (what are they really and where do they go), would come the understanding of the Speed of Light, come the understanding of Space/Time, come the understanding of gravity and the manipulation of gravity, etc etc man there are so many things we DON'T know here... what will we know in another 1000 years if Humans make it that long? We just can't wrap our heads around it and that is exactly the same effect as human beings, you or myself, having no fugging' clue how you travel through time, or through space (while manipulating time), without smashing to bits.

Modern physics is still very much in its infantile state here on Earth so when it comes to wrapping your head around what a civilization born way before ours could do, we just can't. Like however long ago they just couldn't wrap their heads around a spherical planet. They just COULDN'T. Like at this very instant in time we just can't "reconcile" space travel on the grand scale.

You would feel much better if you just read Probability 1, The Elegant Universe, and The Fabric of the Cosmos. I'm going to say in every post I make in this thread until someone goes and reads these books....

Hey Howdy GMT! I usta assist with the managment of the construction and maintmance of a fyew family nightclubs. My direct boss was a genious dude. He had somkinda crazy iq and alla that shitt. We usta sit at bar 4 after work alotta time3s after work and get WHAKKT. I told him one time bout what I saw and he related a story to me bout something that happened to him years before while he was in the navy stationed bord a carier. He said that for bout 2 weeks one time while they were out somewhere I cant remember, they were visited by a real fukkin big triangle with a red light in one corner a blue light in another corner and a green light in the other corner. He said that everytime it came down over them everybody got called below dek and afterwords they got briefed that nothing happened. He said it kept happenin over and over for bout 2 weeks. He was a real smart dude and not prone to fancy. I know he wasnt pullin my leg or nothin like that. He said he KNEW it wasnt from here. I dont think he was makin it up. I shurly bileave what I seen for myself. I bileave what the kid with me when I seenem saw too.

This makes my uncles story that he told me more believable once you said this. My uncle was in the Navy and was stationed on a carrier. He was doing night watch one night with another dude. And he said he saw a object that hovered around the whole carrier a couple times then zipped off...Him and his buddy he was night watching with were in shocked. They told somebody but i forget, i guess the captain or whatever the head guy is. But they were both briefed that nothing happened and were told never to speak about it again or tell anyone....Do i believe his story...YES! my uncle would not make something like this up and this is what made him believe in extraterrestrials.

I am positive that the CIA or some top secret group is or was in direct contact with aliens sometime ago and thats where we gained some of our technological ideas that seemed way out of our league at that time...

i recently had this discussion with a few co workers one was a religious freak the other an open minded hippy alil too open minded really into conspiracy theory but we all agreed that science is real and what science says is possible can actually be possible. We are in the infancy of starting to understand the way things work to say that were alone to the point that not even a cingle celled creature could be thriving in some geo thermal hot spot in some sulfur ocean on neptune is just as crazy as saying the world is still flat(unless youve sailed it yourself you cant really say it isnt can you?).
Personally i think there is life teeming in the universe, were only able to process three dimensions if that, some of us less advanced humans can only understand one, but youd have to be pretty closed minded to think otherwise. Ive never seen a UFO or been abducted but i think ive read enough stuff to realize theres enough space and if a planet starts to have the same formula capable of life to happen either on another dimension or another planet...why not ?

You know...one of the "best" answers I have ever heard about aliens has actually come from a person who is a firm Christian and believer in God as creator of the universe. Went something along these lines:

If God is a constant, unchanging force in the universe, the same today, yesterday and tomorrow...then if he created us, why would he have stopped there. He would continue in a like manner...because he is consistent. Secondly, the bible talks of "other worlds" watching us because of our fallen state...we chose to sin. He thinks other worlds will NEVER come into contact with humanity as we know it, nor will we ever come into contact...truly with an "alien" being...simply because sin is confined to earth and only earth. So while they may be "out there", they are observing us - not trying to interact with us, watching a cosmic battle which demonstrates how Lucifer would rule if he were God....and ultimately if God was just for kicking him out of heaven.

Makes sense from a creationist point of view....thought it an interesting way of looking at things, if nothing else.

I personally, think that the "flying saucers" are nothing more than experimental government crafts that are under testing or highly secret. I mean, billions and billions of dollars into military research...surely they have stuff WAY cooler than what they show us commoners...
