A lot of people are noticing that.Motaco and I discussed it briefly in the ultimate Sativa thread. Some think that it is a normal sativa trait while some thinks it is an indication of indica genes in the mix.I lean towards it being indicative of hybridation as I occasionally grow longflowering sats that start and finish with thin leaves.droopy said:- bottom leaves look more indica while upper ones are truly sativa (good for light penetration since I grow indoor, 400 HPS).
Most sats will continue to grow roots, though not all.The largest bud I grew indoors was only in a 2 litre drink bottle. It had broken the soil down to dust and at chop there was only roots, peat moss dust and perlite.Root restriction is the most important tool to growing sats indoors, though 2 litres is extremely restrictive and may cause hermies in an unstable line.droopy said:- pot is about 1.1 liter, I wonder if the roots will keep on growing (have been reading than sativas keep producing roots long after indicas). I'm probably about half way in the flower process, maybe should I transplant it.Can it be considered that the sativa gene pool from this paraguayan is inherited from a paraguayan landrace ?[/B]
I couldn't read the article.I have never heard of adding ammonia.Seems to me that the ammonia would dissolve the trichs, ruining the high.Thats just plain dangerous. No wonder you grow your own,Lol.Jack Crevalle said:Exactly like the article says, the ammonia added destroys the buds smell and taste and adds weight to the shit

i grow in the tropics , and have smelt that smell like ammonia many times from the local herb thats been harvested a bit mouldy ,or in the rain , never quite dried and then stored.. the smell almost cuts your nose when u put your head in the bag ...
strangely some folks find it a fond memory of the herb that was grown 20 yrs ago here by folks who didnt know how to handle the herb properly ...
