What's new

Ethiopian sativa

My Ethiopian adventure is still going on. I got 5 females which seemed to fall into two types - shorter and somewhat manageable (left), and taller and stretchy, almost vine-like (right). I kept one of each and cloned them to flower out.

They were on 12/12 light schedule for a few weeks, now down to 11/13.

Excited to learn through the flowering stage more about your 5 indoor Ethiopian girls @weedsmoker420 ;)
Thanks dubi! My description may have been unclear - I actually only kept two females, one of the shorter type and one taller.

I vegged them all until they showed sex, selected the two females I liked best, took clones, and put one clone of each into flowering light schedule a week after they rooted. I'm glad I didn't let them veg any longer, because those two tiny clones are now pretty well filling my 3x3ft tent...

A few shots at week 13ish wrong filter though so a little yellow looking. Compared to my green honduras top bud next to it.

Sorry didn’t see the message. Yes I would say they are decent size for being in a 1 gallon pot. The one pictured had a 2week veg in the 1 gallon before flip. The stretch was much bigger on this one then the more orangey citrus one.
It was bent in a z shape pattern against the trellis. So it didn’t go above the lights.

They are down now, all of the run. I took pics of everything and will post them up. When I get them on the camera.

This one pictured after a day of cure, same lemon wood sweet as before and feels like coffee, but relaxed.

I feel like with this strain it’s a straight coffee feel at its base and genetics. So what ever you feel after a cup of coffee is how it makes your mental state feel.

But then add the terpenes to it and how they effect your body.

So for me I’m learning the lemon woody sweet feels cheerful, euphoric, but relaxed from the sweetness of it (Ocimine).

So like if anyone was wondering it feels a cup of morning coffee and a really light relaxed hybrid combined. My lemon wood sweet pheno.

Then the citrusy one, last time if I had .5 g or more with coffee it was almost too much of a coffee feel in the morning. Love it, but I believe you gotta watch having the coffee effect with added coffee. 🤣🤣 can’t wait to try this one. Maybe I will later today!!

These 2 will in my upcoming seed run of making an open pollenation of China yunnan. I don’t think they will have a decent winter run with how my set up is, only 72 in the house with the tent against a wall and with leds.

I’m hoping the China will lower the flowering times on it, while adding some “cold” resistance to it and bumping up the trichome production.

I want to try the pck by itself in the future. I’ve only had Violeta and the oily mechanics grease terpenes gave me and the gf slight headaches when having it. Which will be crossed to the China as well and then let go. But I’m assuming it was the purple Malawi in it. So I want to try the green citrus phenos and grape ones to see if either work medicinally or just vibe with my life and give that a shot against the sativas I have. I just can make a bunch of possible headache strains since we are sensitive. 🤣🤣

Thy being said I love the orient express and it’s been my go to cannabis to make my mind feel completely normal and functional as far as adhd/autism goes so I’m giving the China repro a shot to see how it does by itself. And to figure out if it’s terpene profile, the Vietnam black or the China itself.

Nice.

That was my experience with the pure Ethiopian. Very active and coffee like. My tolerances for caffeine and thc are both quite low relatively and coffee with the Ethiopian was clearly too much for me. I did find myself pacing around the room trying to find my keys.

The duration wasn't the longest but there was this nice feeling of being lifted and carried by the crown, just something that makes you stand taller. I had a tester bud from the CBD1 x Ethiopian and that lifting feeling was present.

I made a cross with the Ethiopian and a plant that has some PCK ( a green lively one ) in it.
While my cross contains a personal Nepalese in the mix and the selection doesn't lean heavily on the PCK it still has the resin coverage and contented feeling the PCK usually brings. I only could grow 3 of the resulting cross and while one was tighter in bud structure the effect was kind of cold and muted in a weird way. My favorite had the clear and happy head of the Ethiopian with a little more intoxication of the NCH cross. The taste and aromas were very minty. That's a plus for me as the NCH cross lacks in the flavor department. It's only a little slow for outdoors @ 45N but it still produced very potent bud

I would go for it.

( my favorite pheno of the Ethiopian cross from last year, ethiopian bud structure with increased resin coverage )
