ErdPurt

Here's the second Erdpurt from my winter grow. This one was a bit bigger but definitely had too much nitrogen in the soil - clawing leaves with very thick/stiff stems. The resin is super greasy and smells mostly earthy, like compost with a bit of rotting fruit.

Both of these plants flowered very quickly - 8 weeks for this one and 7 weeks for the smaller one.

Almost three years had passed since I grew two rounds of the ErdPurts. I've made a post or two in this thread taking photos of them in the vegetative state but have not documented my experience with them regarding flowering and different phenos and effects.

I grew them in two rounds of 6 plants; first round I had one male and the second there were two; and I've made my own seeds with them, keeping the ErdPurt for further exploration.

I've observed noticable difference in the potency of THC in the different phenos like it has already been explained numerous times I believe.
One particular green phenotype had a more sharp, pine and hashy aromas compared to others and this same plant seemed to only contain THC and no CBD, with a potent effect. I was caught in a suprise when I tested this one the first time.
There was one very beautiful almost black stemed and very frosty pheno - the most visually beautiful and attractive to my taste. It turned out it was CBD dominant with subtle hints of THC effects. The aromas were much more in the forest, moss, humic, mushroomy direction. A truly medicinal one.
The other plants were also more in the foresty aroma type and with a lovely balanced, mostly relaxing and slightly mood lifting effects. Very much enjoyable indeed.

This time I'm growing from my own seeds I had made with the plants. I've separated the seeds that were only grown on the dark purple pheno and am now trying to narrow it down. And also to make more seeds again as ErdPurt is a strain that has beautifuly touched me and has many medicinal uses, and other desirable traits to use in home breeding; therefore I wish to continue the relationship with it.

Thank you.

Will keep you updated.

I've been listening to a interview with Tom Hill and he mentioned that his 'Deep Chunk' can grow and produce very well in low light conditions. I have been thinking and observing from my previous two grows that 'ErdPurt' seems to be similar in that regard. Both strain seem to share some of the traits. Can anyone confirm this from experience? I'm growing indoors.

Another thing is that Dubi mentioned in post #288 that making offspring from the parents of the same filial generation will quickly show non-desirable signs of too much inbreeding. The seeds I made were made exactly like that. Now that I'm germinating a number of my seeds I'm observing that the seeds germinate at almost 100% however many will not be able to establish themselves after coming out of the soil and dying. Did anyone see a similar thing?

I wish to work futher with this strain therefore I'm thinking how to mitigate this problem. I do have enough seeds for now to find parents and make more seeds however the inbreeding problem will most likely become worse with the next generation. I've also made some crosses with other plants and have those seeds as well. Should I backcross the ErdPurt hybrids with ErdPurt to establish even more ErdPurt traits and hopefuly avoid the inbreeding problems? Any suggestions and thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you.

I would go with the back cross idea. Adding similar genetics shouldn’t disrupt the traits you find desirable if your select well.

I’ve grown the original Erdpurt from esbe, some Erdpurt crosses from him, plus the Erdpurt x PCK from Ace. From all of those I can tell you that the Erdpurt x PCK produced far superior plants to any pure line or Erdpurt hybrid I’d tried previously. This f1 line was robust in every sense and also had incredible aroma and taste.

If I was personally going make back cross to strengthen the Erdpurt line, I would absolutely use mothers from the Erdpurt x PCK line as my starting point.

Good luck

I can confirm that. My guerilla spots were always quite shady and the plants developed well. Big leafs can take up more photons, so thats why those plants might behave like that.
