scientists at the Lawrence Livermore lab in California have reportedly achieved the "holy grail" in energy research according to news today per "the Financial Times". the test reportedly resulted in 2.7 megajoules of energy from the 2.1 used to power the fusion test. further testing currently underway to positively determine the results.

It's really hard to not enjoy being able to mimic Fusion like that big ball of fusion we all enjoy to grow plants stay warm you know live life,
It's actually a really good post and a really good thread with good info

LOL The world has more then enough renewable energy sources to power our societies with hydro, solar and wind. But the people who own oil, gas and nuclear stocks lie just like narcs lie about cannabis to protect thier own investments!
FYI all the power used to grow cannabis indoors in BC comes from renewable energy Hydro. That is why people in BC should buy electric cars rather then solar panels if they want to reduce green house emissions .
  • Moving water is the most important renewable energy source in Canada, providing 59.3 per cent of Canada’s electricity generation. In fact, Canada is the second largest producer of hydroelectricity in the world.

TVA cranks out power here too. a side issue here concerns the millions of acres of our best bottomlands submerged below the lakes providing the hydroelectricity. they are discussing the removal of dams in some areas. nothing on a large hydro dam though. too bad, there are a few i'd like to see removed.

i'm not bothered by skepticism. but, this is how scientists say the sun produces its energy. and they ignore skeptics too. "man will never fly..." LOL! back under your rock, now...
If you understand physics you should understand my joke…. Man flying (cake walk of epic proportion’s in comparison) vs. breaking fundamental rules of physics the Sun doesn’t even achieve is one hell of another….

energy is neither created nor destroyed; perhaps begin there - and LOL!

“the test reportedly resulted in 2.7 megajoules of energy from the 2.1 used to power the fusion test.”

Perhaps it’s just that they’ve got shitty accountants, or the 2.1 wasn’t mega joules? ….

Tennessee Valley Authority..? Wrote a paper on them dams & the great new deal in like 5th grade, still remember that shit …. Or I think I do…. Ha

breaking fundamental rules of physics
"rules" (not immutable "laws") in physics are flexible/breakable. Einstein has been wrong on occasion. new discoveries made regularly that "don't" quite match up with previous understandings of how shit works. you can live and learn as science marches on, or you can grow old and be wrong...let go of the past and look to the future.

34 pence (about 40 cents) per kilowatt hour of electricity currently in London/England - and price going up soon - again - can we really get unlimited clean energy soon - at a reasonable price? - sure would be nice -
it's not going to be available anytime soon, i'm afraid. (but who knows?) turning a research project in a massive govt run lab into a scalable profit-turning utility is always fraught with unknowns. i doubt that many of us alive today will live to see the fruits of this labor, but we now know that it is possible. hope for the future! :good:

I see 1 article mentioning 1st pilot by end of decade
seems optimistic but give the free enterprise its due, it can MOVE when it needs to
apparently the tech has 50 pellet a second rate
impressive power for a sustained op that could be

So you have been told that green energy cost more then gas and oil and narcs claim cannabis is more harmful then tobacco or alcohol fucking liars.
WOW in BC we pay less then 10 cents per KWH then 14 cents per KWH when over the 1350 KWH limit the sad thing is off shore wind power is about the same cost as hydro in other words your getting fucked up the ass by the owners of oil and gas stock!
It works like this I'm charged 21 cents a day basic 6.37 per month. Step 1. $0.0950 per kWh for first 1,350 in an average two month billing period (22.1918 kWh per day). Step 2. $0.1408 per kWh over the 1,350 Step .
FYI all electric power in BC Canada is from hydro plants and other renewable sources. 100% Green power.

Of course they use fuel (hydrogen). It's not magic.

It's a more efficient and safer form of nuclear power that doesn't generate radioactive nuclear waste. Or indeed the carbon and other emissions of burning fossil fuels.

The "more energy in than out" is referring to consuming this fuel, not generating energy out of thin air.

It's a fantastic thing. But a proof of concept by physicists so far. Will be quite some time still before engineers manage to make it a commercially viable reality.
