Ohh very nice smell for sure.

I fondly remember Lumi, we had discussion about bloom booster. First of all, it's my favorite quote from Lumi, " Riddleme always complain about his buds was fall down because of big buds " it cracked me up good. Anyhow we talked about bloom booster, he told me to hit my ladies with bloom booster after the stretching stop about four to five weeks of flower. His method is work good for my experiment. What do you think of his method ?

I gotta say that all my experimentin with light timings has for sure paid off. For me, it has confirmed beyond any doubt what DJ Short said about it, that timing above 12/12 like a 13/11 will bring out Indica traits in hybrids and timing below 12/12, I'm currently running 10:30/13:30 will bring out Sat traits in hybrids.

One of the current plants in my garden is a KC Brains Mango, I have not grown it since 2011 (though current one is from the same seed stock)

I went back and looked at pics from the 2011 grow and back then I was using a 12:30/11:30 light schedule and in the 1st pic (from that old grow) you can clearly see the leaves are all fat and Indica looking.

In the 2nd pic which is the current Mango plant you can see that the lower leaves (grown during 18/6 veg) are fat and Indica looking but the upper leaves grown during flower are skinny and very Sat looking

pic 3 is a close up of one of the skinny leaves

and pic 4 is a bud shot that shows I have brought out the early amber gene in this one as well (which explains a lot for me) showing amber in week 5 of flower

as a means to reduce the stretch I know there are a lot of growers that do this, I have found better ways to deal with the stretch myself. Different light timings for sure affect it and Alfalfa tea def reduces the stretch a lot. The bloom booster thing is nothing I would ever do

Yet another strain has shown early amber :woohoo:

Tis Paradise's Wappa

This run is bein very productive fo sur

You too can find early amber if you have a strain that carries the gene, add UVB, add Sulfur and dial down your light timing it's that easy

Somewhere in the world, a grower just harvested my CTF, this was his smoke report (in another forum),,,,,,,,,,

This CTF packs a punch..
It put just a little bit of the fear in me.. potency is all there though. It really came up on me after 20 minutes or so.

1 hr later:
That leveled out to a really nice balance of head and body high. The fear passed after a short while.

It's been a damn long time since I have saved a roach

So, does the CTF build up a tolerance?

I really like the smell too.. It's just a "weed" smell.. No fruit, roast, citrus, none of that.. just that skunky pungent weed smell.. I like that.

The high has this "excitement" element to it.. I am really curious which plant that came from..

It is sort of like the excitement or "something good is about to happen" thing that cocaine has.. But obviously, not like cocaine crazy stimulant.. but, that excitement piece is there..

Have you made a smoke report yourself by chance?

Durban Thunder sounds like the real shit. What ya got in store for all those beans?

Grow some, share some, put some in storage lol. I have so many beans it's not funny, prolly over 30 strains I've yet to grow and easily 10,000 seeds (4 gallon baggies full)

I also have crossed my CTF to C99 which I'll call Thunder99 and I plant to cross that to the Durban Thunder

I have 2 strains I wanna make and I am workin my way there, been at for several years now and finally I'm gettin close

I've never heard of this but I find it interesting, but a bit confusing. I don't really understand the method with which you use to determine if a plant bears this early amber genetic. Does this mean showing an amber tricome in veg or early flower(2-3weeks)? Once identified, these types of plants peak out when 50 percent of the tric's are red?

For plants non-early amber gene(most)...clear w/50 percent cloudy is peak potency.

So, early amber genes, with a good spectrum, with adequate UVB, with an afternoon nap(1/2 hr of darkness during flower), with a flowering cycle of 10on-13off, with added sulfur.....will get me a trippy sativa pheno?

Sorry, not trying to confuse anyone. So to be clear, You do not need the 1/2 hour afternoon nap, that is a totally different experiment !

and I have been harvesting at the sign of red (don't want black) so more like 1 to 5 % red but I am currently letting a CTF go long to see the effects so will see what more red looks like and report back once harvested.

You need a light cycle that is closer to 11/13 , I have run as high as 11:20/12:40 and seen it and am currently running 10:30/13:30

You need UVB and sulfur, and a strain that carries the gene. Then you simply look for it, I look every day during weeks 5 and 6 as that is where most seem to show it, am startin to see yellow on the C99 so it could show amber in week 6 (as today is the start of week 6 in my garden) They go from clear to yellow to amber to red to black and yes there are cloudy as well in hybrids because of the Indica in them

and with the various strains I have found it in, yes you get trippy, racy and energetic highs

Yeah, 11:00/13:00 is what I meant actually. That would make 24.
:drum: :)

So, isn't it normal at week 5 or 6 to get the odd amber(ish) tricome? My last grow, the plants finished at 8 or 9 weeks(55-65 days), so 5 or 6 weeks getting pretty close to the end.

Once you see em, you'll know, they are shinny, mirror like and translucent IOW they are very different from what most are used to seeing (why I made the pic) and it is a rare trait not often seen

I spent years figurin this out

plus, I take the PE to 11 weeks, the Durban is a 10~12 week, I harvest my CTF in 10~11

The Gaslight veg thing is new for me, this is the first grow where I have tried it, I read good things about it and so far I am lovin it !!!

I have several clones goin that I know are female of course but I also have a few from seed goin and they have shown sex without even being mature (alternating nodes) now for me, that is a worthwhile freakin tool !!!
