Emerald Cup question

Hello all i am a colorado resident and business owner with a home in northern california. i have just recently moved out here to expand my soil making business. my question is how do i keep my colorado id and residency (as i need that for my business), and still get a recommendation for prop 215. i would like to still b able to smoke legally in california as i do spend some months out here helping my partner with paperwork. and also at the emerald cup that i will b attending with some friends. any help would b awesome thank you so much icmag community

You need a valid California state issued id card to receive a valid doctors recommendation for cannabis use.

thanks brotha thats what i figured... so r they pretty strict then about people only smoking in the designated smoking area at the emerald cup? just curious cause cannabis is one of the few things that gets my lower back through and event like this.

i still live in colorado 7-8 months out of the year and need residency for my licensing there otherwise i would get a cali id card

I had a buddy get a Cali card and he doesn't live nowhere near Cali. There are doctors out there that will give you a card without proper id.

When I talk to my buddy I'll see if I can get some info for ya.

they r not too strict about smoking....but to get into some parts/booths ect you HAVE to have a medical wristband. But if you want to just puff a j while walking around no one is gonna say anything

Then it is not valid.

Might work to buy ganja from a dispensary ect.

Wont hold up in court at all for any reason. So dont expect to try and grow or be a 'mover and shaker' in the biz without a valid one.

also mike thanks for the info there too, i would really like to know of that doctor as well or any other that might not care so much about the in state id... might just get one to b able to do certain events like this.. like i said i have a home in cali and colorado so i can prove i have a home in the state just need to keep the colorado card for my legal license in colorado.

Well I know OP said he was just looking to get one to be able to smoke. So as long as you aren't Looking to load up your backyard or travel with lb's and you just looking to be able to smoke in Cali you should be alright.

I am sure with bills in your name in Cali u can probably get a Cali ID card. Shit you can most likely go right to the local sheriff and get a non drivers picture ID card with the proper documentation like a bill in your name birth certificate and social security card.

You think voter fraud is a huge problem by the voters??? Maybe if the problem is 1 in 5 million or so. Id be more concerned with why we have a corpratacracy, not a peoples democracy...

Try telling me why we use Diebold voting machines, then you'll find the real fraud.

All a invalid rec is gonna get you is MAYBE the ability to score some flowers or hash from a dispensary. But your still no safer puffin a j in CA with a invalid rec then you would be if you never took the time to get it in the first place. lol...see my point mikenite?

Possession of under an oz is just a ticket in CA, but consumption in public is more serious offense.

Ca law does allow mmj use to be considered after the arrest, (say a cancer patient got busted smoking, but had no recc, they could claim medical use in court and have a right to be allowed to get off bc the use WAS medical)

its easy bro.
when asked for id. there is more than one type of id that works.
i used my passport.
for proof of residency? i went online found a stock standard california lease form and my friend leased me a room in his house lol.its easy. my friend says you can stay here bro sign this agreement and we decided under the table to waive all rental fees. lol
lease in hand (proof of residence)
passport (eligeable form of id)
out of state id from previous residence lol (also legit so just in case)
ive been a california card holder for 8 years and dont have cali id.
my doc doesnt blink.

i only carry passport for id when i visit dispensaries and carry my lease agreement in case they want proof os residense.
go to a bank and make an account and put in 1 dollar. use whatever addreess as your mailing address ask fo a statement to immediately be sent to you.
now you have a bank statement.
you could do that in another stat before you left.change address at local bank office and when you get to cali you have mail waiting for you.

the DMV didn't require any proof of residency when I got my cali ID card 5 years ago.
I used a relatives address. showed my passport and had a paper receipt when I left that was good until the actual card showed up 3 weeks later. the doctor and all dispensaries except one were fine with the temp id card.

I'm not concerned if the id will hold up in a court case. it has allowed me to purchase meds without hassle every time I visit. also my cali id and medical card has allowed me access to smoking areas at cannabis cups in other medical states. I've used my cali card in MI, RI, and MA to purchase meds from caregivers there as they have reciprocity laws.

get the ID and a card. very useful tools for a patient.
