I bought the 2010 sour diesel and I will say I got 7 males and 3 females, 2 of which were pure shit but that one female from the pack was epic shit, it smelled like a shit stinking dumpster in July and had th fat chunky look just like the real thing.

I've been thru several f2s I made from that pack and was unimpressed but recently found one exactly like the one I had it 2010.

If it doesn't get fat and flop over it's probably junk

If I can get ahold of the cut soon I want to try doing a tissue culture with it to rejuvenate it. I've also thought about making a fem hybrid by feminizing a very good pheno of the sd ibl and using that against the clone to keep the good traits but impart a little more vigor and fresh blood into it.

News flash : A seed plant or out cross ,in cross, or back cross will never be spot on to a clone only but you might even get something better..
Yup it's an old ass cut and might dud out in some rooms
Some still get her to put out the goods...
Most of the big name clone onlys are old as fuck...

...For me the giveaway is the small rounded single leaf blade that pops out of a calyx bract as she stacks


I havent seen that trait on the hybrids or on the chems ...

Yep, that's right, about the little rounded leafs popping off the calyxes,
as you can see this cut has it. It's also right about ecsd not having the greatest bag appeal, but what it lacks in appearance it makes up for in smell, and once people smoke it they always come back for more.



It took a fairly large selection of F1s to find a plant that had that and other diesel traits making her so much like Mom(but not quite). It is this detail and others that make me say Chacos cut looks like original ecsd, same with Starcrash's cut.

on the AD podcast with 'the bro' they both say Rez's stuff is bullshit, the bro uses terms like poop and dirty feet to describe the real diesel, going by this I have only had the real stuff once, it did have a poop smell to it I actually thought it was giesel and just had really strong chem D halitosis

Never had real deal ECSD but did get a 0.5g cart of “Sour Diesel” recently, had a real unique flavor to it that I couldn’t really describe at first but funky feet came to mind later on

here she is ,, actually i grew her a lot outdoors ,
did pretty well given my short days ,
seemed to have reasonable bag appeal i thought ,

Hi Donald,
Looks great, when I said "bag appeal", I meant by a California standard, people just want a certain look, diesel is not bad, but it doesn't quite "pop" like some of the newer inferior strains.
Personally I will take the dense foxtaily ecsd buds any time over the more kush/indica types everyone in California seems to want. To my eye, they look much better. Anyway, diesel is one of the more Indica leaning types in my garden, so my tastes don't really reflect the market here.

I had a little 50 bag of that sour D in NYC I worked there for a few months ran into it 1 time around 2012/13. Def is insane weird flavor and smell. Very unique. Really good buzz nice bud for sure . Have not had it or seen it since. I grew a dominion diesel this season outdoor it was s a beast/ I had to cut it tho sadly it was male. Got another bean popping now indoors hoping for a fem. I germinated 2 Dominion Diesel seeds on a whim a few months ago and got a female which is flowering now. I smell a lot of ECSD in there and anything else is just funk. That is great for me.


So many of these "sour diesel" strains out there are sweet. Sour Diesel is not sweet.


Dominion Skunk doesn't proclaim to be a substitute for ECSD but from the one plant I'm evaluating, it's a damn good option.
