M. R. GT,
Man those starts look killer. Why are they so short with so many branches? I do not see a light source in any pix. What kind of light and how far away? All the starts I have seen are like 2-3 inches tall with just the starter leaves and one set of first leaves. Even when these are transplanted and buried up to the first leaves they still stretch and never look as dense as your inter nodal length. Is it the genetics or have you selected for shortness?

Great thread and thanks for the info.

Not to speak out of turn, but really intense light does that, particularly if there's much blue in the spectrum.

I had the same sort of growth under a dual arc 1000w lamp in a 4x4 reflective enclosure & it's very much the same with my new system using two 315w CDM lamps.

Jhhnn,
You are not speaking out of turn at all!!
I did ask how far away the lights were. What do you suggest?

This is my first run of seedlings w/ the dual 315 setup. W/ beer cups, the soil surface is ~ 3ft away from the glass, same as w/ the 1000w.

I'm transplanting today, trimming away the lowest growth in the process. They have very short internodes & are branching out at each.

It's been very hot around here & I still have trouble keeping the temp down or they'd have been closer, maybe 2' or so.

Check my disorganized albums to get an idea of the space.

Hey guys!!:tiphat:

Been out of the net for a few days. Finishing up harvest and, prepping for the next run.

Hey Nomad thanks for the props bro.

Jhhnn is spot on. The intensity of the light and spectrum are what keep them short and stocky. I Veg under a Hortilux eye 400 MH. Its about 2' from the top of the e/f in a small tent. Bright light in a small area!

Jhhnn Good looking out brother. I appreciate you covering me down while I was out of the net!!:tiphat: So how ya liking the new lamps??
Started transplanting last night. Moved 4 into the flower room under 2KW MH.

Just about to hit over grow for my small tent. Pretty solid root mass. Makes transplanting a real pain in the ass.

Pretty plant!! Put on some lavender hues.

Cola bud was hard as a rock. Small amount of Bud rot going on deep inside so had to be dismantled for drying. Would have done better with a topping.

Moderate yield. All the buds are super dense and frosty. Moderate smell of Afg funk mixed with some lemon, mango on the finish.

Here are all 3 on the hang minus the cola from the last one
.

Final weight and smoke report will come after a good drying.

Preliminary smoke report on the Sativa is pretty positive. Nice flavor, Med potency, light weights really like it. Decent amount of body mixed in. Nice evening smoke when ya want to relax but not get blasted.

Get yall a better smoke report later.

Peace

Little GT update.

Little GT update.

Thanks for the props BGB!! Ill try and keep it going as long as there is some interest.

Got most everything transplanted.

all 5 GTs and the PU x SWOG into big pots. Right on schedule. These are at 30 days.

Bodhi has done an outstanding job with the GT. The A11 comes shinning through for sure. Fast preflower, sexed within a day or two of going into flower. 3 males 2 females. Looks like some of the Genius came through as well with the Atypical branching pattern showing up on most. Should turn into nice little bushes. Reminds me of spice brothers A11 with a higher percentage of Genius showing up. His Apollo11 select should be freaking awesome!!

The PU x Skywalker is the only one that seems a bit stretchy. Not much branching going on. All straight up.

Pic is 1 day after transplant. For the first 4 GT. Just settling in. The other 2 was immediately after transplant. No sign of stress so far. Hard to believe after cutting them out of the Veg tray.

Held the pick of the litter back for just a day or 2 longer. She is short and fat. Bushing on her own. No need for a topping on this one. She went into a big pot last night. Here she is right before she was transplanted. She's a looker.

Loving this one. Brother Useful you have outdone your self with her.:tiphat:

Ill try and keep this one a little more up to date through out veg.

Holler at ya later.

Whats up guys??? Great to see ya. :tiphat:

Hey brother Useful. Appreciate ya stopping in and checking us out!!
Thanks brother we do our best. They are coming along. Had a few issues with bad bulb and a broken pH probe that slowed us down a bit. Hopefully everything is on the mend.

Hows is going BGB?? Great to hear from you.

I think from these we are more likely to see some med size bushes, opposed to a cola dominate plant. The GTs are A11 heavy. Showing a lot of the genius side. Crazy branching has already started. If ya have never grown out Apollo your in for a treat. They make some cool looking little bushes.

The PU x SWOG seems to be SWOG dom. She has that OG diesel funk going on. Kind of stinky. A little bit stretchy. She may turn out Cola dom. We will just have to wait and see.

Brother Useful's baby is gonna be a straight up bush. Short and fat. Beautiful color and structure. Just a lovely plant.

Ill throw up a pic or two tonight so we can see if they are making any progress.

Holler at ya later.

Thanks for the updates, MR G T. Looking fabulous!

Thought I'd offer up a few lousy pics of my own-

They were all germed Aug 05, went to 12/12 a little late, Sept 10.

The GWH on the left is not economy. It's not really a good strain for a seed grower like me being a one off poly-poly hybrid with lots of variation but it'll be interesting. There are at least 3 phenos among 6 plants. I may have to try my hand at cloning once I sex 'em & thin to 6 flowering plants.

The Eldorado is obviously a worked strain- nicely behaved bushy uniform growth w/ little variation so far. Already stinky- smells Mexican.

Here is my $1.50 (currently $1.13 USD.. ugh) a seed Emerald Wonder (when bought in the Solar Warrior 'Solar Mix')

Grown outside in a 3 gallon container filled with pro mix herb and veg and fed rain water and Shultz Instant plant food with blackstrap during flowering. I chucked some Azure Rocket 2.1 pollen on the lower branches.

Whats up brother Jhhnn??

Those all look gorgeous. Digging those Goat wreck haze. Ya can see the sativa in her. Got a felling you will have your hands full with these. What kind of stretch ya looking at?

Hey brother seedstasteyum

That's what Im talking about!!:tiphat: She turned out awesome!!!

As for me. Well the first 4 GTs hit 7 days 12/12 last night. Roots are dropping out and They are getting back on schedule. Got the new bulbs in and changed out last night and they seem to be loving it this morning.

Got all 4 female's in the main system last night. The 3 males are now in stand alone pots.

Brother Useful's baby is up front SWOG in the back and the 2 GTs in the middle. The GTs and Usefuls all have super tight spacing.

The GTs are moving vertically at about an 1" a day. Running about 14" tall as of now.

The ES x SB/Ogr99 is just getting fatter and fatter. Vertically she's running about 10". She is going to turn into a nice little ball. Hopefully once the roots drop she will head for the sky. She is only at 4 days 12/12.

I can see the SWOG is going to be a little stretchy. She will be the tallest of the lot. She's at 5 days 12/12. She is hitting about 14" an stretching. Large node spacing.

Ya can see the angular branching of the Genius starting to come on in this pic. Should become more pronounced as they get a little bigger.

I owe you guys a better look at the ES x SB/Ogr99. Took a couple of pics last night but the color was off. Sorry!! Everyone knows I suck as a photographer anyway. LOL

Holler at yall later.

Peace

Hey Heady:tiphat:

Couldn't agree with you more. ES x SB/Ogr99 is a mouthful!! Sour princess ele-oger works for me if brother Useful is good with it.

They all have been pretty easy. Just like I like my ladies. LOL

Great thread! Inspired me to pick up some inexpensive seeds--kc33 and some nirvana...even got 5 free Bodhi gogi og with the order!

In the past, I have always had good success with Mandala seeds--Hashberry, satori, krystalica, ganesh, etc...

I really like your setup...had a few questions if you dont mind...
Do you run a bubble stone in each bucket as well as the drip--only see one line going in...? Or is it in the rez? Do you see any difference in the stand alone buckets compared to the system? Do you run any supplements for the roots? RO water?

I tried dwc a long time ago and had a lot of trouble with my hard well water...your thread makes me want to give it a try again!

Thanks!

HI cbk123 Welcome to the site.:tiphat:

Sorry Im a little late getting back on here.

I appreciate the props brother. I am really glad that I could inspire ya to get back into DWC and give some new gear a whirl!!
Your really going to enjoy all of those. The KC33's are beast so be prepared for a wild time.

Do you run a bubble stone in each bucket as well as the drip--only see one line going in...?
No bubbler, its just the top feed ring run 24/7. There is a bubbler in the main rez to help oxygenate the solution.

Do you see any difference in the stand alone buckets compared to the system?
Yes some.

Both grow outstandingly but the RDWC is a little more explosive.

I use a large pump in the recir loop. Large enough tor raise the water level in my pot by a min 1". I then put the pump on a timer @ 15 min on 45 off. The raising and lowering of the water level really seems to pump them up.

Its a little like a hybrid E/F, RDWC.

Do you run any supplements for the roots? RO water?
Im all about simplicity. Lucky for me my tap is very good so I don't have to run RO.

I run straight Veg + Bloom from start to finish. The only amendments is there Size starting the 3rd week of 12/12 @ 1Tsp per 5Gal.

I run straight by Chris's feeding chart from V+B rarely exceeding 1.5 - 1.6 Total E.C.

That's about as simple as it gets.

V+B Has a hard water formula that a lot of the guys have good luck with. For simplicity its the way to go. I ran KISS for years and had great results from it as well.

The best piece of advice that I could give for running any hydro is "DONT SKIMP ON YOUR METER"!! Get a good Blue lab combo meter. Forget all the pens styles they are all pretty much crap. Trust me!! Been there done that!!

Well bro I hope this answered all your questions. If you need help feel free to drop me a PM once you have your post count up.

Take care

All righty then its about time for my weekly update.

2nd week of flower, really not a lot going on. The GTE's and the SWOG are running about 20" so just over double in height at the moment.

GT's have tons of bud sites. Lots of zippy little lemon nugs for sure.

SWOG is heading for the Sky. She is going to be a stretcher. Heavy limbs, large spacing, A little of the dank OG smell going on. All in all, turning into a nice plant.

Princes has turned vertical to a degree @ 13" but is turning into a beautiful bush. She has stayed nice and compact with heavy limbs and tight spacing.

All have been a joy.

Holler at yall later.

Peace
GT
