Looking good EastBay! Where did you get the amendments? I was thinking of getting some insect frass...
yeah actually, great eye, heres a pic, its the one in the back, kinda funky crinkly leaves but from whta ive heard that is the way to confirm the platinum cookies cut is legit, it was only planted into a 35gal on july 1st so hopefullyshe will make themost of it, just HAD to throw her in the mix though, it beat out Agent Orange, Blackjack, Key Lime Pie, and XJ-13 for a spot in my garden...

Oakhills, yeah i got my Insect Frass at Oakland Garden supply but you can get it at any of the grow shops in the area, i was given 2 lbs to test and actually went back and bought another one, still inconclusive on if its gonna stay around or not...

screwylewy yup this is my first time using a supersoil style grow, TLO,nature farming, organics, whatever you want to call it, I LOVE IT SO FAR and most likely WONT be switching back to bottled nutes, prices are WAYYY cheaper, you get to play around more, making soil mixes and teas and top dress mixes, imo its more involved but wayyy more enjoyable, maybe not for the cash cropper though, and even though you do Earth Juice now you are still force feeding your plants are prob killing off your microlife with all the high levels of organic acids EJ uses to chelate there nutes.... trusty me just switch to TLO/superoil
and the plants are soooo freaking healthy its weird, no deficiencies or ph problems (healthy microlife plays a huge part in this), i dont even use my PH or PPM meters anymore lol, love this shit

Thanks man, yeah you know how it goes, i was only informed about this location being an option on May 1st so there was very little time to get ready (with cooking soil for 4 weeks, pre-veg, ect..) and since its my first time outdoor, i took a few plants over to test, waited a week, then brought more, and the Platinum cookies and Forum cookies were really late adds, just couldnt help myself...
Any guesses on projected yield for these plants? (I was hoping for a 6-8ounce average) there in 30-50gal smartpots, and we have about another month or so before flowering starts..

Another update time!
Stopped by the garden today to do some IPM foliar (spinosad, neem, dr bronners, fulvic) and start my tea brewing (custom blend based off Boggie Brew w/ some P guano getting introduced), along with acouple other things..

Thanks for the pics bro. The Platinum sure looks like it is loving the outdoor. Seems to be growing much faster cus that's a very slow poke lol. Look forward to seeing more. Few more weeks of veg and hopefully she stretches out more for you. Her stretch isn't much but once she starts stacking she will be lovely. Try not hit any fan leaves as buds grow right on top of the stems at the nodes. I brushed up against mines and lost a bud early cus the fan leaf broke off lol. Look forward to seeing more

was rushing shit and snapped a FAT branch, tried to tie it back up but it looks like its done for....the platinum is really for the headstash since its one of my recent favorite indicas, too bad it got such a late start, it does grow slowly in veg, compared to the forum and other cookie cuts i have but the best indicas usually take a bit to get going, but once the root ball is establishd they can bulk up quickly, hopefully itll get another good few weeks of veg before the stretch comes... stay tuned...

I feel ya on breaking the branches, i actually lost one of my BIGGEST FIRE OG branches today due to my hasty-ness

Oh I ain't going nowhere bro I def wanna see all these cuts play out especially the Platinum and all the DHN cuts. I'm on the east coast but has a buddy who sends me DHN cuts and I'm trying to get the most info on the cuts as possible as I always hear some of them aren't legit and I believe it.
Lil bro must be smoking on something much worse than the Platinum lol. To think he'll get paid in all of that. He'd be taking the whole plant lol

i do topdress/scrath in religously, both for nutrients and as an IPM, I use Neem, kelp meal, and EWC/humus all the time (once weekly, usually bout 2-3 cups per 50 gal pot of everything mixed) and maybe some guano, crab meal, frass, and other goodies once in a while (you can see the pics of products i use earlier in the thread)...
I;ve found that top dressing a plant really utilizes the whole container space for the roots, they develop thin "feeder" roots to absorb the top dresses... thats how it would be in nature... shit dies, roots grow up to absorb and feed, and grow down for water..

How do you go about putting that first cage in without disturbing your root system? garden looks great btw...
Noonin' Norcal : i put the inner cage on after i transplant into the final 45 gl smart pots, and use it to spread out the branches/plant (like LST) and it grows around the cage, no problem with the roots, the cage only goes down about an inch into soil, I have a 3' bamboo stake that i drive down to the bottom of the pot and zip tie the inner cage to it so its secure... that stake is the only thing that could harm the roots, its funny once the plants are as big as they are now they start pushing the inner cage out of the ground, its more for structural support, so the branches dont bend TOO far and snap once buds get heavy and wet...

I;ve been a busy boy....
I havent popped any seeds since 2007 and it was Rez Chem DD and Strawberry D, good stuff ... But now on to bigger and better.... Inferno OG will be used to gather pollen and hit limited lower buds on my outdoor strains
I made up a seedling mix today and sowwed the seeds.. mix was 2 parts Roots Organic soil, 1 part EWC and Cali humus, 1 part super soil peat based, 1 part Perilite.....
then 1/2 tbls per gallon of Neem meal, kelp meal, crab meal, oyster shell, gypsum.. and i think thats it.... wetted with compsot tea... then after i sow'd i sprayed with fulvic, aloe, and some humic for kicks...
I also topped dress a 1/2 tsp. of ewc,neem meal, powdered DE in that order to keep away bugs, then put a gallon ziplock bag over them to create some humidity... shessh that was alot....
I;m going to contact the breeder and get some more info on this strain along with acouple of his clone offers that i already have growing in the garden (cookie frost, and maybe one more?)... will update... because on his site it looks like these are really grandfire OG f2's which would cause alot of variation and might not be desired for furtur breeding... just wondering... but what do i know, i read Rob Clarkes book on breeding (GREAT BOOK) once when i was 18, should prob re-read....

I think you would be better off getting the Fire OG BX from OG Raskal since he's the one famous for the Fire OG. Seems like you would find what your looking for than with something that has GDP in it
To be honest ive not heard to much good things about Raskal, but who knows, i dont know him personally...
I didnt even know those existed to be honest (will look into it) and as always it came down to price and availability since this is just a last minute add on project... $40 and a 5 min. drive to Harborside was all it took to get these (i prob could have gotten the raskal seeds there if i knew, but prob wayyy more expensive)

EDIT: looked into the seeds, and yup there only available in $100 11 packs, and its Fire OG x the White, which sounds awesome, I'll stick with GDP and FIre OG though, i LOVE SOME GDP....
on a side note, i remember when Raskal FIRST dropped the FIRE/Raskal OG before cali connect and ograskal seeds even existed, I got one of these FIRE OG cuts before they got out (given to me as one of the first 10 people to get it from a breeder who sold clones, wasnt even vended yet, got it from the clone manager at Harborside, Jeremy in 2006-2007, pics in my album so u know im not BSing) and back then what 07-08 i want to say, maybe 09 Raskal swore UP AND DOWN that the FIRE OG that was starting to go around and be shown by a few people (me included) was NOT his Raskal/FIRE OG,,, looks like hes changed his tune and is happily taking credit for it... LOL!!!! just a little tidbit from the California medical cannabis soap opera... it continues believe me....

Naw Fire OF x The White is White Fire OG aka Wifi. His bx of it is Fire OG x Fire Alien Kush(Fire OG x Alien Kush) so that would be your best bet to hit your Fire OG with.

Hopefully I'll have a real OG in the stable one day too many bs cuts and I won't grow them. I've got some OG hybrids but what to try the real deal first. Yea you'll love chopping it up with me bro. I'm a junky when it comes to genetics and stuff. Growing is my passion and one day I'll be able to do this with no worries. Just gotta convince the Mrs to move lol

I can confirm that the FIRE OG clone going around the bay area is indeed LEGIT OG, straight LEMON pinesol fuel and the most perfect looking finished nugs, its BITCH to grow though sUPER finicky and lanky (thai influence) and is light on nutes, and u have to stake buds in flower since branches are weak, if you can withstand all that she will produce the best OG buds ive seen (consistently)
