Dutch Police Seal off Neighbourhood in Hunt for Growers

Even in one town (Doetinchem) in the Netherlands the SGP (Dutch Puritans) party would agree with allowing a casino in the town unless the total of 3 coffeeshops will be brought back to 1 coffeeshop.Just bullshit to me.

They (Socialists) put Amsterdam on the UNESCO list, so the city will be boring as the city Brugge. The North-South subway line they are building is one big mess and costs to much money.Economy is getting worse, even grand pa (75 yrs) has started to grow marijuana (15 plants) to keep alive, but he is busted.:wallbash:

I think next year we have a revolution of some kind.

Elmanito, how many Dutch think like you now? How many are really fed up with way the Netherlands is heading?

I've been meaning to mention the reason why so few Dutch people will get involved in this discussion. It's not that they don't want to discuss this, in fact they discuss these issues among themselves a lot, but refuse to discuss their politics with foreigners usually unless you get to be good friends.

So foreigners like me end up thinking the Dutch don't care, that they're apathetic. Indeed many are. But as the economy declines and personal freedoms disappear and fear mongering grows more people are affected and eventually they decide to act.

Unfortunately if they don't have experience protesting, boycotting, etc. they feel powerless. But this is not the case. All power resides in the people. The people give power to politicians so they don't have to deal with bs day to day issues. But when the issues affect everyone, everyone needs to get involved. That's the time to express your own power and make your feelings known.

I can't possibly see the Dutch having a revolution. Too polite and timid. Of course the minorities might revolt against the continuing sanctions/restrictions they must endure. That is a more likely scenario, but only because the Dutch fear it so much they crack down even more. It's fear that separates the Dutch from the immigrants. And politicians use that fear to manipulate public opinion so they can enact even more racist/fascist laws.

Who would've been a worse leader? Pym Fortune or Balkenende?

From what I have seen, the Dutch are quite good at protesting... And the gov't pays more attention to them than the USA GOV't does...

In regard to revolution, that is a different question. I believe we would be more likely to see that in the You Ess Ay... The Rednecks are getting stupider by the day, if that is even possible. The Media more reactive, and ignorant. The Right-Wing, more vocal, and inane.

Nederlanders, Throw the BUMS OUT... ASAP...

As a Dutchman this is shocking that they sealed an entire neighbourhood and i dont agree at all that it happened, but most of the growers were not paying there electric bills, so automatic you will have a grow bust.

Everybody is talking about South America, Spain, California that they are more liberal nowadays than Holland and the only thing i can say :moon:

It is still allowed here to have 5 plants for recreational use, no matter how big they are or how much the harvest is.

South America, Spain and Portugal it is allowed to have small amounts for personal use, but it is not allowed to grow your own stash. In California for the time being it is only allowed under prop 215 to grow and use for medicinal purposes, but not for recreational use, although it is easy to get a medical card as long you have $150 and a good doctor.:D

You have to see it on the bright site of life. This situation is good for innovation. For a long time the Dutch were at sleep because of the liberal drugs policy, but now it is time to experiment new kind of lights for indoor growing which uses less energy than the average HPS and to invent new stuff for growing better quality.

I'm 99% certain that in Spain, you're allowed to grow a lot more than 5 plants as long as you don't sell.

I doubt you can grow in Spain 1 acre of marijuana and the police will be still thinking thats for your own stash. The Spanish government decriminalized marijuana, not legalized it.Spain is still a member of the EU, which doesnt allow any legalisation of marijuana.
Another thing is that you have in Spain plenty of sun, but a lack of water.:nanana:

Anyone know the result of this action..? Were people actually put to trial, or did they just ruin a great many peoples' lives...? And a lot of others' day.

This graphic gives a good example where The Netherlands stands today with their drugs policy

Sounds crazy.

Many people have the impression that everything is cool in Holland, which is very much not the case.

I agree Spain may be the future.

I believe Spain is the future for Europe marijuana. I believe this so much I'm in the middle of using Rosetta Spanish (Spain) language software.

I believe:witch:
