Dutch Ban Famed Hallucinatory Mushrooms

It has taken me over a decade to harness the insanity that ensued shortly after 1 particular dose of LSD. For this I am grateful.
I cannot be around people under the influence of LSD, or things can get VERY sketchy.
I would not be who I am today, had it not been ingested.

I don't condone nor encourage the use of LSD, ESPECIALLY in developing stages of life.


Mushrooms, however, IMO should be treated as a 'pharmaceutical' and be consumed only by prescription, written by REAL medicine men who can ensure a safer experience.

So you just kind of popped back into reality or did it actually take you 10 years to get "normal" again? You must have fallen and tripped into the crystal wash to have that serious of a problem for so long. If someone "flipped" you on purpose then they have some very bad karma. I don't think anything in the entire world brings us closer to our developing stages of life than the likes of acid, pot, and maybe sucking on some nice tits.

It's good you got something out of the experience but to demonize acid in any way is a root cause for why people even think they can lose their mind on it.

How can you blame the molecules for doing their job? This same reasoning is why the dutch are banning mushrooms and other substances are banned all over the world. Why does it have to be substances which we like to ingest as humans and which give us astounding psychological or physical effects? There are OTC medicines which are more dangerous than most "hardcore" drugs in certain quantities even the supposedly scary ones like LSD.

I cringe more at the idea of taking tylenol than a hit of acid these days. My life is so complicated in certain ways (good ways long term) that if I tripped now I would have to spend a week just to prepare by writing down anything that I might forget or "lose" during my journey. That's the beauty of acid you can forget things you never wanted to and remember things you never thought you could.

The only REAL medicines are those you can make on your own. Screw a prescription!

I don't know if anybody mentioned it or not but I thought they only banned "dried mushrooms" and you can still buy fresh ones because you can find certain types of "magic mushrooms" in the wild in the Netherlands.

Unfortunately, every year even the most smug people die from eating the wrong shrooms. It is an agonizing death, which usually occurs in a remote location. I live near one of those areas and it is a sad but predictible part of the news at certain times of the year. Those who do survive often have kidney and liver failure.
It's not a question of not being bothered.

It took me a solid decade, some of which was quite terrifying.
This was dose I had very happily taken before.

I did not demonize acid. IT did.

Honestly, I dont care WHAT people want to ingest. My problem is, that the weed I smoke gets lumped in with other drugs that are not well understood, nor responsibly used. All it does is give the opposition more ammo as in; 'first they want pot, then they'll want acid. How long till they wanna legalize crack?' See what I'm sayin'?

Yes lots of people get into difficulties after picking the wrong mushrooms, however theere are not many fatal mushrooms out there that can be confused with liberty caps. Most deaths are attributed to eating one of the Agaricae family, the same family as horse & field mushrooms, Destroying Angel, Death Cap, Panther Cap & of coarse the famouse Fly Agaric. If they are new to it, the best way is to go with experienced people, who can show them what is good & what is not. This applies to good eating mushrooms as well, there are poisonous Boletus (cep) Morells & chanterelles out there. People also die after buying them, hark back to the poor girl who's unfortunate death led to the start of this thread. Did she eat the right ones? People should also be in the company of good trustworthy experienced people after they have eaten them. I suppose it is only natural for her parents to look for reasons & scapegoats, & for civic authorities to respond to the pressure from media & parents, it would seem callous to do nothing.
With all freedoms comes responsibilities. So I cant endorse the taking of psychadelics.
I can only take a personal view on this subject, I dont know if I am right or wrong, dont mean to flame or troll, its just my view. Once a year nature gives us something truly strange & magical. If you really want it, learn about it first, then go & find it, there are dangers associated with it, both physical, mental & spiritual.
Does everything have to be packaged & sold? Is nothing Sacred.
