yeah guess I have been asleep at the wheel, thanks to all of you guys that are posting and trying to figure it out, if it gets to it where we can get some samples sent in I would be willing to pitch in $ . this is a bigger problem than most think.

JW did not know about this thread, His post was a new thread that got merged with this one.

I see that. Just pointing out to him and others that might now link to this thread from the GG4 thread, that the topic is pretty much covered, and starting reading from the beginning would be a good idea for anyone who is interested in this topic, so that we don't get a lot of redundant posts/questions. At the same time, we will not be mucking up the GG4 thread with any more "dud" discussions, or people saying it is only "grower error", just because they personally haven't seen any duds, or that their own growing skills are just so much better than the rest of us, and it's the fault of the grower if he has a dud. We've pretty much established that it can happen to anyone, and not necessarily grower related.

I could be mistaken, but those appear to have issues. Crinkling of leaves, twisting, classic pre-dud conditions. Is that a normal look for these? Not from what I've seen. Looks like TMV/Broad mite issue, but maybe that's just how these grow at the start?

Love seeing them pics PF. Cant wait to taste this girl!

very true and I don't want to waste you peoples time that have already hashed this out but I do believe it is some what grower related, I know those cuts from the cup were duds but I believe its something sunset did that caused them to dud, as I believe its something I do that makes the sour dub dud, it may be in the plant already but we are causing it to come out some how, that's the only way I can explain others growing these plants with no problems then I get a cut from them and boom, duds.

Papa.....While I`ve ALWAYS respected your input/knowledge and experience , you don`t realize how you`re perpetuating Backseat driver`s ability to talk down to folks and berate them......

Do you not SEE he`s callin all here "shitty" growers that`ve experienced "duds" or dud-like symptoms , while empowering his dumbass egotistical efforts of huffin that he`s TRIED to grow a GG4 dud and because he`s so much better than all the rest here that it can`t be done......

Please Bro....I ask that you drop the interrogation and let it be that there`s things afoot that can and have caused detriment to same plant cuts , but by the same token it`s stops BYF from spewin horsefuck and idolizing himself as he types...

Drop the dud talk and start a thread with lab results and true specimens documented...I know it takes YRS to learn plants cuz I was blessed with very few genetics to work with back in the day , so I got the opportunity to know my hybrids and their needs well while also honing my growing skills and experience.......

Better yet Papa...ask BYF the question again about his bullshit buds that keep growin and growin like it`s magic and he`s got some secret he`s keeping from us , like all us old heads don`t know that buds keep swelling and spittin pistils until the major source of Nitrogen fixed what the fuck ever gets out of the medium and allows plant senescence to finally occur....

Please...Throwin up in my mouth a lil bit more and more Veg....Please refrain from callin folks idiots and shitty growers to empower yourself as the divine messiah on growin dope....

This is NOT the matrix , and you`re NOT NEO , so get your head out Morpheus` ass and stop talkin down to well respected members and realize you`re NOT "The One"........

Peace...DHF....:ying:....

Freds, you know we're cool, but I really don't think it's fair to blame me if some random person on the internet gains some kind of empowerment to talk shit to people from someone completely unconnected to them making a point they agree with.

Think about what you're saying for a minute and what precedent it would set.

It could just as easily be anyone in the situation, including you now. Someone might come in and say yea papaduc, you fuckin idiot, fuckin shit grower you're probably not that good and you're a fucking prick.. making BYF think he's fuckin Neo out the matrix...

And you incited it. It was your fault for empowering someone to come in talking to me like shit.

I wouldn't blame you if someone did that, because it's their prerogative and it's yours. It's freedom of speech and brother, I won't ever hesitate to make a point in case someone else decides to randomly be a total fucking prick in making their own.

To be honest mate, that was me done with the whole dud discussion. The only thing I can ask now is if anyone has any pictures. I certainly don't mean any offense and if people would rather not send me any or they want to put it to bed, that's absolutely cool with me. You wouldn't have seen me back in here after my last post but then I read yours.

If other people want to fuck around and play silly arses, that's not my business. Notice that I haven't quoted or got involved in any of that and to be honest I was going to make the point to BYF to swerve the shit talk because it just shuts down the debate entirely...

But then I thought fuck it... shit, it's hard enough making a straight point as it is without someone taking a discussion about plants and making personal digs at you about who you are and how you conduct yourself, like they're the fucking boss of you. So I just left it.

If people want to make a forum about plants somewhere to fuck with people and talk to them like they almost definitely wouldn't do face to face, there's nothing I can do about that mate.

It's the job of the moderators to decide how they think a debate should be handled and when and which people step over the line.

There's nothing left for me to say on this now, it's done, and there are some cracking flower shots up above, so let's get on with that. :tiphat:

QUOTE=milkyjoe;6441417]But its true. If at any moment the whole thing could go to shit completely at random with no reason why would anyone bet on it?[/QUOTE]

Why???
I do believe John Legend can sum it up best.

"Cause all of me loves all of you. Love your curves and all your edges. All your PERFECT imperfections."

Welcome Joesy. We've pretty much beaten this topic to death. All that remains is test results, if the people with duds will just get them tested.

Hey all I'm happy to report that I turned in a couple samples today. As I mentioned someone gave me a very dudded og. It was very obvious from even the small branch and rootball.

Tests requested:
1) PhytoplAsmas
2) tmv
3)fusarium
4)verticillium
They said the phytoplAsma was no problem but the tmv test would be hard because the very small ammount of leaf matter. However I'm getting more living samples so if that sample isn't adequate or is inconclusive and negative for tmv we will retest.
I also got some of those weird streaky swirly verigated leaves that people always says is broads but isn't in this case tested for tmv just for shots and giggles. It's an otherwise healthy plant.
Next week for everything but verticillium which will be 4-6 weeks.

thank you for doing the test, wish you could have got your hands on a gg4 to turn in also, even a healthy one.

Who is doing the testing, and did you ask them what they have been seeing as far as other test results, and if they had any positive tests for phytoplasmas before?

That's all I wanted to know. Wasn't being critical. Whenever I see that twisting, it gives me flashbacks.
By the way, the taste is good. Kind of like mocha flavor to me, or chocolate/coffee....with some funk.

I'm running a grip of lights of gg now. They just aren't duds to the best of my knowledge. However I did have access and my post about doing a test was responded to by a member offering a dudded la cut but the lab pathologist retired so we gave up. A week later I met a pathologist at a well respected lab. The cut had already been disposed of. I would be more than happy to run either a healthy or dudded one. I simply don't have a dud one.…I hope. I would love to run the sour dub or any dud that is confirmed by someone familiar with the form of dud I'm referring to. The candelabra breaky branched hay with weird little mutated sharp neon green bud leaves with tiny fan leaves and witches broom. I love the gg strain for what it is. It just changed my mind. I was thinking it was a little lacking and then week 7 I'm stunned. It's nice. Like real nice. Except for the manners but that was my fault.

my thinking is even a healthy one should still have whatever it is that's causing them to dud in its system,

I hear that Storm. pisses me off.

Absolutely. Healthy GG4 should be tested for TMV. Since this is a virus, and can be passed by cuts or seeds, so we need to know if Sour Dubb and it's crosses carry TMV. That would explain how it's passed, and also why plants grow out of it, or don't show it at all, as is often the case with TMV. I think stress allows the virus to thrive, and the symptoms emerge. Just my theory.

lol i know jw...some time's the truth hurts, I got mad love for po and what they provide but they do have dudds.

I don't really have an opinion on what is causing it, I just know it sucks and no sprays will fix it...I'll wait for some science to clear it all up, until then we're all just guessing. It's a real thing/real disease no doubt in my mind, but beyond that I'm clueless. I can sort of buy into a trigger type thing, but to me it would show on more than one plant out of many if it was an environmental/feed thing. Nothing really adds up about it, we really need to know exactly what we're up against in order to find a true solution/answer

here's my way out there theory: dudds are caused by the roots formed during the cloning process being tied into the wrong tissue thus making it much harder to transport nutrients through it's natural pathways, and the scale of duddism is tied into whether or not any/how many of the propagated roots tied into the correct tissues...just a thought but it would explain the randomness a bit more I suppose, and it seems like a perfectly good cutting that gets cloned turns dudd pretty quickly after rooting in the experience that I've had with them. Time to put some slides into a microscope, if only i had a microscope...and a dudd lol
