Sweet work bro those are gonna be some straight dank nugs fo sho!!!! They sure are filling out too, I like the drip soo much I can't wait to run one myself. Do you water multiple times throughout the day only with a little bit of water, or once daily drenching them or....? Good work again! PEACE
caligreen - Thanks 4 the interest in this grow. The drip system is a good one Higroe mite, dyno-rock, fossil rock any of those silica base rock mediums go good in this kind of system gives good results and flushes with a breeze but I personally think coco chunks like Down-to-earth brand, give over all fantastic results... well... i shouldn't jump the gun so soon... I'm not quite done yet... still got 20 more days till harvest, but from the looks of things... This medium will be sticking around... will see how it cleans up after being used!
Oh... and to answer your Q about watering I water 4 times during lights on each 15 min. cycle lets out 1 gallon of water in the front rows and a little under a gallon in the back rows, but to compensate for that I added extra drippers to the back rows to even things out. I really didn't need the extra stakes, since my stakes are 360degree adjustable flow... I just like having the security of having extra lines incase!
vinnystallion - Thank you for the kind words, and yes the smell is great... spicy with a hint of fuityness... very resiny... some have reported this bud to be a little fluffy? I don't know how there growing theres but mines turns out really dens... I'm going to harvest at 52 days due to some un-planed events coming up
I've been flushing now for a few days but i swear... this strain drys in 4 to 5 days... straight to the jar! man this stuff all ready smells quired after drying!
I cut a bud off right before I drained the res, so will see if it will be harsh as what everyone says... with no flush! if every thing is all well I will be going a forth round with this HK and this time I will not flush at all!
Hey fellas just harvested my HK and I will be taking pic's as soon as my camera gets back to me, but let me just say, I took it down 5 days early at 51 days with most the trich's looking cloudy I'd say about 70% or so cloudy and some coals looking bigger then water bottles! I did smoke my tester bud and the results are, wait... here was the status of the bud,
44days when cut
non flushed
trich's 90% clear
Pure Blend Bloom
cal-mag
purple max
overdrive
floralicous +
smoking method: In some element rolling papers
results: The high was almost instant hitting hard in the head (harder then usual) it wasn't really harsh to the throat but more like leaving a very un-pleasent and noticeable taste in the mouth, the high how ever... i think lasted really long in the head... the head usually clams down about after a hour and a half then the body kicks in... but on this one it was all head! no body with the bud looking a little fluffy.
Conclusion: If you want a super head high and don't mind the taste with no harshness, and don't mind the buds looking a little fluffy... yeah... 44 days with no flush is for you!
Damn im jealous, quite an impressive setup and tastey fat ass nugs. Im working on getting one hydrohut to bring my grow into the spare bedroom of the house, cause this so cal heat is killing me. Top notch equipment too, feel free to toss one of those inlines over here, my aircooled reflector is rendered useless cause i havent bought one yet. Were the hindu kush grown from seed? Im looking into some Nirvana strains to go with next even though i got 6 or 7 unknown kush bag seeds germing. i'll keep taggin along with both your grows, get some inspiration for mine hehe.
Oh yeh, what does the fossil rock on the top of the soil help with? i have hydroton on the bottom of the soil to help with drainage and the roots, but on the top does it help the soil retain more moisture?
HeresTheDank - thanks for the comments. Well... to answer your Q about the fosil rock it adds drainage at the bottom of my pots. I put them there so my roots wouldn't be soggy all the time, it also allowed me to water more with out water logging them. I also put them at the top so no light hits the top of the medium no algee, bugs, and yes it keeps the root zone cooler and humid this stuff has diatomite bugs don't like this stuff so a dry layer at the top would be hard for them to go through.
and about your aircooled, yeah... get that fan up man.... you would really need them in the hut if your pushing 1000w. I would've never made it without it! These hindu skunks were grown from clone there sr-71 hindus different from the pot of gold seeds. Sr-71 is a coffee shop out in the east bay.
Lougrew! - Thank you for the good vibes and after looking at your thread... my hat's off to you! Thats freakin' outrages maaan... how in the hell did you pull that grow off!

Results 3Lbs
Thats funny how I yeilded less on this round? I think it was the coco and nutrients? and the fact that the chicken mesh was to small... so that meant that I had to REALLY strip the lower branches to damnear' nothing! the lower buds didn't get no light what so ever! This approch needs more agresive pruning then i expected!
