Probably switching them tonight or tommorrow night. I am on my way out now to get the reflective plastic, hopefully I can get motivated to get the lights ready to go.
Yeah I will have a quite a bush going when I am done.
Plastic up, going to switch the lights on Mar 21(vernal equinox) I thought it would be appropriate. Temps were finally steady last night on the proper side of frigid.
I had also tried my first try at cloning yesterday as well. Used one of my test plants I have in the Veg chamber, took 6, will wait and see how that turns out.
Well, I got the lights switched on the Vernal Equinox as I said I would.
There has not been much change, well nothing that I felt I should snap some pics of.
I did try and clone a few plants, which was my first attempt, out of 6 cuttings I got I healthy clone, but that is about all I want, I don't have any room for anymore right yet. So tucked inside the mom box I have 3 mature females and one cutting
I am trying to keep the stretch down on the cutting, so it sits about 8 inches off the bulb. The other three including the test plant 1 are doing great. Lots of new growth, and healthy looking.
The plants under the 400 w light, have been there for almost 2 weeks. They are just starting to show their buds. Been getting quite alot of stretch, but that is ok, I have about 7 ft to work with, the stalks are all starting to thicken up.
I hope they start packing it on soon, I find that part of the growth is exciting, There are 6 of them, filling up my box nicely, just starting to smell.
hey Strain, NPS
Welcome aboard, I am waiting for something to happen as well, I think it would be easier if I went out of town for the week and then come back and look. When you check a few times a day it is like waiting for a kettle to boil.
But I just checked on them, lights go off in a few minutes, looks like they are starting now, I can really see improvement from this morning.
On a side note, I have roots coming out of the drainage holes on my cutting, that was not there this morning. So looks like I am getting it going on.
I will be making at least weekly updates from this point on, I will be growing steady until sometime around mid July, shooting for a few lbs of product by then. Stick around
Well nothing like a wake and bake, all energetic right now, and should be crashed on the couch watching dvr recordings in about an hour.
But while I had so much energy I though I would snap some pics and the accompanying short story.
Here is my clone, in a recent new digs. The leak is bent, I had it too close to wall. But other than that it is growing like a champion, I have pulled off the "cut" leaves, they were yellowing, and was bugging me.
This is my test mother using the recycled soil from a previous grow. It is the plant directly to the right of my clone. It is staying low to the ground but man is it healthy, it has suprised me to no end, how nicely it fills out.
This be the whole mother box, the plant in the back left corner is going to be thinned out a bit, when i pull out like 6 more clones from here in a week or two, these are hopefully be ready in about 5 weeks once my flowering plants are done. Most of the bright green new growth you can see at the tips is what has popped out since i fed them last, 2 days ago.
Here be the flowering room, they have not been growing as quickly as I had hoped, I am having some issues with colder night temps right now, so they are moving along slowly, I know the roots are still working, they still get very hungry, this might increase my yield time but I am really in no hurry it is only April.
I have the worlds worst digital camera, but here is a shot of the first plant right and its growing buds. I still have some red stems on the fan leaves, but you can see my plants look pretty healthy.
Dont know if you can see where the nodes start, but it is all pistils in there, when my buddy was growing these he had a Topiary tree look to his buds, I can see why, I am going to leave them on there and see what happens to them.
The plant in the red pot is the other test plant, as you can see it is a great deal shorter than the rest, but is doing well.
Its looking green round dogs way!
The new mum place looks good i could do with one of those, they all look real healthy too. The flowering plants look good too, those red stems could be genetics maybe ?
Good luck with your grow!
Can always tell the Can. growers by their temp./R.H. meters Must be the Canadian Tire special eh?
Good stuff you got goin on here I'll be sittin in for the flowering
I've grown Tangerine which is (Chronic X Cali-O) and find they grow nice huge colas They are decieving to the eye though, because they are somewhat
fluffy.
My Blueberry are always tight, dense nuggets
Hopefully the Blueberry X Chronic can make those big huge colas sticky and dense!
You're doing a great job Plants look great.Looking forward to see what comes of this grow
Well, things are starting to change here, I am seeing nice growth all of a sudden, lots of buds are starting to show up and everything looks nice and green.
Here is everyone sunning, I really like how all the stems and leaves are pointing up, I don't remember giving any Viagara to them, but they have been like this for days.
I really need a better cam, but the top of the front one in the pic above.
The bud sites look promising, I should get a nice weight from these guys when it is all said and done.
I figure the colder night temps have set me back about 2 weeks, so I am going to need to thin out the moms soon, they are doing awesome, but I will have no room for clones for about 4 weeks. These moms I think are next to flower, my clone is doing well, and should be big enough to clone in about 2 to 3 weeks. That would leave me with 1 MOM and the clones. The two mother plants are very well rooted and should produce quite a bit of bud.
Well I am really digging the plants right now, and like any good father, I am taking alot of pics.
I normally try and take a few of the same picture. I wanted to have them in order here, well mainly for me to beam with pride and maybe to show off a little who knows...
Day 1 of flower
About 2 weeks in
Just about 3.5 weeks flower
6pm today
Check out the vacant sockets in the back, in the pic just above, you can still plainly see the sockets, quite a big difference in one day, I moved some of the forward plants a bit but did not touch those.
I have been neglecting the MOMs a bit. With flowers happening I think it is probably a natural action, but I was busy last night, I thinned them out quite a bit, they are a very bushy plant if left alone, I was getting dead leaves at the bottom quite a bit so, a haircut they got
Three MOMs and my clone, top left. Because two of the MOMs are getting flowered next, I am going to make sure they are very very well rooted, going to grow trees, bushy trees. I have transplanted one into what I think is a great idea. I am getting tired of recyling these damn things, they are very large and take up way to much room in the recycling container.........
They look happy, and looks like you're doing a great job
Do you have macro mode on your camera? Your far back shots look fine and clear. Only way to get a good "up close" shot is in macro mode. You may not need a new camera at all...just may need to learn a few things about the one you got
The colder temps do slow growth a tad...but i find it really increases frost production I actually prefer winter growing.
Unfortunately I do not have macro mode on my cam. I picked it up right before the digital cam thing took off, so it is pretty basic and it feeds on batteries. I need a new one, but I have many other things I need as well.
But yeah I am very happy with the plants as you can tell, They are getting frosty, the temps are warming here right now, it was nearly 65 outside yesterday, awesome when you work outside, so the room should start to keep a better avg temp now.
I do have one question right now. I have been pulling off scattered fan leaves, just to open up the canopy a bit, let better air movement and hopefully some light into the middle of the plants. Anyone have any problems doing this? I am talking like two or three fan leaves per plant.
