I have no idea how these beans are, since I haven't grown them, but I noticed that Greenhouse just released feminized NL#5 x Haze Mist beans, for 40 bucks .

Damn, Doc. You done it again.

I have read every thread over and over, just trying to absorb each little trick.

I'm in the process of building my new cab now, and have pretty much decided to copy you completely.(it honestly looks like the most efficient cab for this style grow)

Ultimately, I would like to move into a nice little cabin,off-grid, up inn the mountains, and grow most of what I consume myself(food and otherwise)

I dream of the day.

Thanks for all the knowledge and Good Growing! :headbange

Hey Dr.Budgreen you have awesome methods of growing and your new cabs look perfect. I would kill to get ahold of those genetics, looks like you will have some great smoke here soon. How much sugarleaf do you usually save before you make bubble hash or do you use buds?

what up Doc!?! a good friend of mine ;) is tryin to run a similar set up
in a 55" wide, 22" deep, and 42" tall cab that will be strictly for veg/clone/mother
a slight mod that he wants to do is a drop down lighting set up w/a reflector to adjust height (as opposed to having them fixed to the sides)

so my question to your experienced expertise is...for the veg cab, should he use all soft white (blue spectrum 4200k) or a mix of soft and warm, in what ratio??
he's planning to do a full veg (24hr light, 6-8 weeks)

Thanks! :)

I have a cfl mother/clone cab that had that 'mod', the drop down adjustable light fixture with reflector.

To be honest, I never ever moved it, I just kept it all the way pulled up.

In fact recently I re-did the cab and mounted the lights on the top and ended up with more 'height' for the plants once I removed the fixture/reflector.

What happens is since it's a mom and clone cab, you will usually end up with at least one tall plant and can't really lower the light anyway, so you end up either leaving the plants at different heights, or raising them.

Speaking from experience it's easier to stick something under a plant to raise it than it is to screw with an adjustable fixture/reflector in a relatively small space.

Appreciate the help blynx! =]

Guess I never thought of that....... even though the plan was to go bonsai style on their asses, it would be nice to have the extra head room for the mommas.

One of the issues with the whole stackin stuff up to raise the plant is my buddie's a complete neat freak, OCD style with everything at his house. So naturally he wants to keep everything as organized and neat as possible, so a new idea popped up: keeping the lights fixed on top, just putting notches along the walls of the cab that would allow for different shelves to be placed at different heights so eventually when he gets some keeper mommas, cut the shelves to fit them and still raise the clones, and lower them as they grow.

Again, thanks for the input blynx!

Another question, besides the mixed spectrum lighting, is 24 hr lighting the best way to go or 20on 4off???

That is up to you....

24/0 Works great to warm up a "Cool Grow Area" ie. Basements in winter or places that just arent 70 Degrees

20/4 Works well to...
Save Power...and drop temps in a given area

18/6 Works well to ...
Save even more Power and further cool a given area

All will give great growth of Mothers and Clones/Cuts and Veg Growth :smoke:

Go "Really Bonsai" ......lol :headbange

Nice bonsai mom Doc!!! I have plans for a micro project and it requires a bonsai mother to provide a few cuttings per week... if you would be kind enough to enlighten me with your Bonsai/Mothers methods...like how do choose the right one? maintaince schedule?? how do you keep her so small and bushy? How often do u trim roots if ever?? Etc.. any info will be helpful.. thank u sir..

Beautiful Bonsai!

SAVE THE PLANET! USE 18/6!

We're already saving a ton of money vs. HPS...
Balast + Huge Fan + 1000W Electric Bill...
Then we can have more money for more CFLs! Muahaha.

did I miss the ventilation

did I miss the ventilation

Dr. How are you venting these cabs and are you using a scrubber for smells? I read a mention of "dayton blower" I think you said earlier in this thread, but there were no details of it. I'm working with a small cabinet...as you know...and am torn at how to vent this thing efficiently with all these CFLS. I had thought about making a "false ceiling" with plexiglass with all the bulbs above it then air tight seal the top portion and have a "cool tube" of sorts for my cfls,, but it's proven to be a lot of work...what's your key to keep temps down? My temps are consistently over 80 with only 2 cfls right now that I'm working with seedlings.

Sorry for the bass ackwards long way of explaining a question, but I'm out of herb, so my minds not right.
