Day 35

Sorry for missing the Sunday update, busy busy busy. The pictures are from Sunday though :)

Not a whole lot to say at this point, they are pretty much on autopilot, doing their thing. The canopy isn't exactly even, but looks like a sea of bud anyway. Hopefully I'll get at least 200 gram dried product in the end. Who would have known I'd be growing donkey cocks on my first grow?

Oh and if anyone wanna teach me how to insert pictures right in the post that would be great. With the attachment thing you can only fit 5 pictures per post.

Take care, peace!

Lookin' good Lazyeye.

You'll still only be able to upload 5 pics at a time...but when the screen opens to select your pics look at the top. It will have a drop down menu and you can select how you want your pics to show up.

I just had my first smoke ever! Just a couple of minutes ago. Very very small amount, i'd say .1-.2gram.

I was about to say that I don't feel a thing, but it's creeping up on me good. Very enjoyable feeling. Taste was pretty crap, very "synthetic". Goes to show that proper flushing and proper curing is a must (the "taste bud" was from the branch I accidentally broke off earlier).

I didn't expect to feel anything, alot of first timer don't I've been told, but a bit of dizzyness is presant! :D

Take care guys, peace!

Day 42

So according to Barneys the plants have 8-18 days to harvest. I'm not entirely sure what signs to look for regarding when to flush and start feeding water only? Any advice are welcome. They are frosting up quite a bit but I don't have a magnifying glass so I can't really see the trichomes.

Oh and for the record; this strain is NOT for the stealthy grower. This stinks to high heaven, literally. The scrubber doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell to keep up. Even the ONA Gel is having a hard time concealing it.

Thanks thelaughingman!

That's the sign for harvest. What about flushing and cutting the nutes? What should I look for? Maybe it says in the thread you linked to, short on time, will read it later. Thanks for the help!

I never harvest based on trichome colour, I'd be harvesting way too early if I did. I wait for the calyxes to be swollen and the stigmas to recede back and turn brown/orange.

But if you choose to go based on the trichomes, you can also use a decent camera to take a macro shot of the buds, most cameras these days can capture the colour of the trichomes. You can get a more accurate view with a photo as opposed to the jewelers loupes.

Day 49

They are messing up! In a good way hehe. The buds are so heavy branches are tipping off left and right. I've been tying them up like.. Everywhere! I've used up one roll of plant velcro already, wich is 5 meters in length. Now I do have a feeling alot of it has to do with me not having an oscillating fan at the start, so the branches are probably pretty week. But the buds are insane. These are the kind of buds I see when looking at journals made by very experienced growers. Needless to say I'm fantastically pleased by this! It's definitley possible to get huge yields with this strain, and it responds very well to topping.

I went in there to tie a few branches up a few minutes ago. They stink just sitting there, but let me tell you, when you start working with them and moving branches, THEY REEK! And they are so crazy sticky, washed my hands three times and still feels like I have glue all over my fingers.

I started flushing with pure water at PH ~6 at day 47. Been doing big waterings since then. I still see nutes in the runoff though. I don't like it but it's not much I can do. I guess this is the con of hempys? Can't really get down to the res... Especially when you can't move the plants from the tent. I'll keep doing big waterings until chop day. Wich will be at day 56 at the very latest. Will do 24-48h darktime before chop as well, I want all the "bad stuff" to be down at the roots when I chop. Decided on this since leafs are already starting to yellow out, buds are getting red hairs, and they are froooosty! And I think they will yellow out faster the longer I go with just water feedings.

I did order a magnifying glass as instructed (thanks willyweed). My hydroshop only had a 10x at an insane price, so I had to order one. Hopefully it'll get here in the next few days.

Take care, peace!

wow ,what great looking plants you have grown lazyeye, some real big monster buds in there.you have done great, don't spoil it by taking them too soon,it's a must to see that the trics have at least gone cloudy first, could you not get a cheap magnifying glass just to be sure, they will probably differ a great deal from the top of the plant to the lower down buds !
anyhow ,great grow journal, been a pleasure following you.goodluck .willyweed

Thanks cure! :)

I got my mini-scope today. Wich turned out to be shit-tastic. Couldn't see anything through it, let alone the trichomes. Need to get another one. I did buy a cheap magnifying glass, but it's very hard to see. I think some are cloudy and some not.

Anyone got some good advice regarding loupes/scopes that works well for this purpose?

I found these today (don't know if they're good):
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-30X-6...oys_Games_Outdoor_Toys_ET&hash=item20cf0f8024
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5X-45X-60...eryBoxes_Supplies_CA&var=&hash=item460f644d4b

Leaning towards the 45x in the second link. The mini-scopes seems to be like those viewfinders, if you don't have the eye in the exact position you don't see anything...
