First off, I will never EVER do dry trimming again! Holy crap what a timesink! And buds breaking up etc, never again!

I put a few hours in yesterday, didn't even get one plant done. The good part is that the trimmed product is well over 100g, wich makes me hope that total is over 400g.

I'm a bit worried I dried for too long. The trimmed product has ben jared for ~10h and I don't see any moist buildup in the jar. Is that like, essential? What will the effect be if I dried them for too long?

hi lazyeye ,firstly, well done and dont worry if a bit dry,it should sort it's self out in the jars.if not put a damp bit in there to balance it up a bit.then all good great results for a first run.all the best. willyweed

You can't add moisture to dried buds, the curing process can only be done once, adding more moisture won't do anything.

So will the high/taste suffer alot of I'm curing too late? Is the moisture inside the jars the tell-tale sign of good curing? Meaning, if I don't get moisture it's too late?

yes you can, street dealers have been doing it for years to add more weight ! i am not saying it is the best thing to do . hey lazyeye i also put pieces of lemon in the jars or lime gives it a nice tang but don't leave it in there too long a couple of days should be fine.or it may rot!:)

I was thinking about spraying the lid LIGHTLY, but no point if it doesn't do anything. I just want the smoke to be top notch.

Just finished rough trimming everything. Just removed the most obvious material and took the buds off the stems. Basically just to stop them from drying any further.

I think I'll like the numbers, just filled up 10 jars and some plastic boxes with material, will go through them as fast as I can. I want to know how much I got!

To all of you who swear by dry trimming: Congrats, you're fucking insane!

Thanks but I really don't feel very successfull right now. Feels like I started curing too late and kind of failed right on the finish line. Time will tell I guess?

please listen ,you can not re -cure weed but the steams hold moisture llonger than the bud.this is good as it has to dry out through the bud,do all of the stems snap off when you bend them in half? if not it will be fine.please do not stress. you have done very well no matter what happens.willyweed

Most people "cure" their weed wrong anyway (adding moisture to jars???), so I wouldn't stress about it much. You did well for your first grow and I'm sure the next one will be even better.

Curing seems to work despite my worries. Starting to smell different, more of a "full smell", more complex than before if you will.

Trimming is going slower though, will be a few days before I'll report the final numbers.

I've been told/called this before  But I still stand by my opinion that the finished product smells and tastes better.I almost always get a funky hay/grass/chlorophyll taste/smell when I wet trim but never when I dry trim.

I also practice defoliation in moderation during the flowering cycle through to harvest,so there's never many big fan leaves left at harvest, just buds and nice trim leaves with a few sugarcoated smaller fan leaves for BHO runs.It can be a tricky practice (defoliation) and some strains don't like it too much IME,but done at proper times throughout the flowering cycle to harvest can yield good results...just don't go overboard with it.

From my last bagseed run I have an short squat plant that branches mad flippin' crazy a.d makes me wish it didn't have such tight internodes lol...bitch definitely needs a good defoliation during flower!

IMO you shouldn't see any visible signs of moisture in the jars,if so then the buds were still too wet IMO.

Try curing with simons technique...

Thanks for the input Jnugg! I'll try wettrim next run, on the Chronic I got going. Can't take more of this drytrimming...

I got a few more jars to go until I'm done. Broke the .5 gpw barrier today, I guess final yield will land around ~450g.

The numbers are in!

Total weight dried and trimmed: 464g.

This gives me a ratio of 0.77gpw.

I am very happy with the results :D Free joints for everyone!

It's really hard to make out any distinct tastes so far. At least for me, but the smell have changed alot since the start of curing. It's a very pleasant smell, and the high is fantastic! I'll give it 2-3 more weeks of curing before doing official smoke report.
