It's been awhile since I posted on boards. Go easy on me peeps

A few yrs back now I was in the damm, and managed to try the Dr Grinspoon at barneys farm. Read about seen pics and was egar to see what she was like. After smoking a joint. It hit me and the wife hard. Most of the weed in the coffee shops isnt very good imo so we where very surprised of how it hit. About 5mins later we both had to leave barneys as we both where feeling pretty fuked the buzz to me felt alittle bit like I'd done a bump of speed. Very rushy. Gave us a lot energy and made bimbling round Amsterdam abit more enjoyable. That's the main reason I got some seeds and started running them to see if I could find something similar.

Poped two in 2019. Was disappointed to say the least. I did find a seed in the bud tho. Didn't think much of it, kept just see if it would pop on the off chance. Earlier this Yr I popped two new out of the pack and that seed I found. All germed all grew strong and very vigorous. In the end the seed I found turned out to be incredible imo. It could have crossed with another one or pollinated it self I'm not really sure, but the end result was a much denser haze type of plant the looks more like modern buds. The smoke for a first run is not bad at all. Pine and citrus and pepper. The smoke makes u feel awake but not as rushy as the one i first tried. As I get her dialed in I'm hoping to have something very special. I will post some pics.

This is Dr Grinspoon at week 5. Stacking well. Fans are yellowing alitte early, especially if she's got another 10 weeks, but should be OK.
I'll post some pics of the other DrG I'm doing a second run with. She looks more like that classic stack bracts/ cylaxs one I had in the damm coffee shop, but I think she will b a 16/17 weeker.

I'm a fan of Dr G's too and am actually just begining flowering one for the first time. I was gifted a collection of feminized Dr. Grinspoon/Quaze seeds along with some crosses, (Quaze x Durban P, Quaze x Zamaldelica, Quaze x Cindy99), from a small company under the condition I keep a photo journal of my grows and just decided to do it here online at ICMAG. So any tips and tricks? Any pitfalls to watch out for? I'm figuring Dr. G is a light feeder but does she get hungry for a period of time? I've never grown one before so I can use all the help I can get, LOL.

Heirloom sativa growing = the marathon running of weed growing .

Hello bud appreciate the kind words.
Sounds like u got a nice collection of seeds to pop. U got some work to do no doubt

This will b the second run for my DrG1 so I've still got some learning todo myself. But what I've noticed so far is,she has a massive stretch period. Likes the organic regime. Not a heavy feeder but a consistent one. Drinks alot of water . Topping her is a must (as she will grow to 1.4m easy)and probably going to run 100days plus. (Marathon for sure) My understandings so far.
I'll b sure to keep the dairy updated. And If i can help with any questions just gimme a holla. I'll b sure to check out your journal. Cheers

Dr Grinspoon 1 and 2. When I topped them, they both bled red sap. Very interesting. I presume it comes from Oregon purple Thai as I remember @truecannabliss posting pics of his Thai doing the same. not sure. Still worth noting. Watermelon plants do the same I've noticed...

Dr Grinspoon just about to hit week 6. She's progressing OK. Buds are filling out and resin production looks good. Yellowing fastest than I expected so will have to deal with that as best I can and remember for next time.

The second set of pics are from the other DrG I'm running. It's not the prettiest but I thought u guys would like a look. I was hoping she would make good hash. I've just done a test wash and the hash she made is looking very good. So I'm looking forward to having more material to work with in a couple months.

I managed to get them from the shop alittle ways down from the cafe in amsterdam. Ive read things saying she's not the easiest to get seeds of tho.

I'm glad to hear u say that. And for what's its worth she most certainly is potent. It's strange though how the clones didnt bled red when I topped them. Those red sap pics come frm the seed plant. I'm at a losse end as to why. Any thoughts anyone?

Your plant looks like a normal Haze not the "pearl" type Grinspoon. But very hazy I bet it is a good smoke.

Appreciated. I'll take a look.
I should have explained better. I understand about sugars playing a role in the colour of the sap. I'm wondering WHY the seed plant did this and subsequent cuts after don't bleed red when topped.

This pheno looks more like your typical haze definitely. The other im growing starts stacking bracts very similar to the 'classic' Grinspoon type flower. The smoke is strong, very uplifting and energising. Looking forward to dailing her in so I can get the best out of her.

The clones I topped? They where a good size yes. I assumed that being a clone it would exhibit the same traits as the seed did... Its interesting to note that only one seed frm the original 5 pack bled red. The other came from the seed I found in the one of the first of two plants I grew.
I'll have to do some more research.

Yea,if it did it as a seedplant and u took clones of it the trait will still be there,I know sometimes it shows better if they have just had a drink before topping.im sure it will show up again at some point.76

Ill bear that it mind for next time. I got some clones ready to go so I'll keep my eyes open.

The seed I found came from a plant that did not bleed red. The seed is from one of the first two seeds I poped a few yrs back now. Both those plants didn't have the trait if I recall. Or I didn't see it.
