Milky I'll verify before anything goes your way again. The guy I got that faux walker from paid 3K for it lol. I paid $100 and even though I didn't take a bad initial hit, it cost be big time because I wasted a whole 7'X110' row and 8 lights indoors on her. Rookie mistake.

I'd be shocked if you didn't do an outdoor grow. I'd bet next year you'll still throw a few odd balls out. I vote Tom Hill haze or maybe something Cambodian. You could harvest just before thanksgiving lol.

Silver, you ended up with a pretty good budset this round. Still on the extra Mn/sea shield program?

If you want an early finisher I've got one. Norcal catpiss x afghan (odyssey), I chop it on the 1st or 2nd of Oct. Milky ran it this year as well.

Yeah I'm sold on the AEA bud set program. I also do photomag/sea stim foliar a couple times during veg and I add it to my res a few times during flower.

I don't feed liquid food during veg. I just try to amend the soil based on the logan lab tests I had done this spring/summer so lots of calcium sources/kelp and alfalfa meal and some worm castings. Teas and inoculations at each transplant. Eventually around week 3-4 of flower I do start feed a little with age old bloom. I haven't gotten the soil dialed to the point where I can go plain water through the whole cycle but that's the goal eventually.

Odyssey sounds great. We'll have to do some trading this winter.:tiphat:

Gary R tells me they are gonna release that bud set formula in a single bottle...nutri live budset. That will be handy.

The odyssey is serious high test for an early finisher. It will complement your other stuff perfectly

Nice silver mullet..... I've never heard of age old bloom?? Is that an organic mix?? Also.... Have u ever heard of breaking the main stem in a certain spot in the bloom cycle to make the plant bloom even harder???? Just an old wise tell I've heard along my path n growing.... Another old wise tale I've heard is piercing the stem all the way through at the bottom of the plant during bloom as well to make it bloom harder n get more weight????

U think there's any validity to these old wise tales?? I really enjoy your posts.,, u seem knowledgable!! I'm new to the ic, but I've been growing for years..... My whole life it seems!! I'm all ears on the questions...... Anybody who knows anything about this.... Feel free to pipe in!!! Much respect!!!

Cool Milky, I like the sound of that budset formula. Anything to simplify and keep my scene from being overrun with plastic bottles.

I've heard some good stuff about the Yager. The name kinda turns me off but just because it reminds me of my worst hangovers ever.

AO Bloom is not organic, Copperfield. It is derived from fish, feathermeal, seaweed, etc. but it's not OMRI listed. I haven't tried every bottled nutrient out there but out of the ones I have tried, the age old works best for me. My water is acidic and the age old stuff is fairly neutral so it brings me near to the 6.4 ph I am shooting for. It's also pretty cheap, concentrated and lasts a long time on the shelf.

As for breaking or piercing the stem- no, I don't subscribe to that sort of thing. My whole mission is to make the ladies as happy as possible from start to finish so anything that goes against that doesn't jive with my thinking.

I do top the plants to get them to be as wide and short as I want and if something is reaching to far I will squeeze and bend the branch over but these techniques are about canopy manipulation and nothing else. In my experience topping, bending or snapping branches at any point during flowering usually has a negative effect on the bud size of that branch.

Silver...you obviously don't need advise but think about a test using pacific grow or sea shield in place of age old...you get Ca with it. I use 2 oz per yard of dirt per week. That is way on the high side...trial it at 1 oz and see what you think

Always open to your thoughts milkyjoe.

I swear the AO Bloom used to contain calcium but I just looked and I guess not? Since my soil tests showed low calcium I've been adding a lot to the mix in the form of ag lime and gypsum and then also supplementing the AO bloom with Nectar of the Gods liquid calcium (calcium sulfate) but mostly because I was gifted a 5 gal. jug and not because I really know anything about the product. Stuff smells like peppermint...

I've been putting off ordering more sea shield since that was the one container that kept blowing up in transit last time I ordered. Should be no problem now with the cooler winter temps I hope.

When you run the fish hydrolysate like pacific gro do you Ph it? It's always so acidic.

I tried different amounts while keeping the ratios basically in line with Gary's recommendations. Looking at my notes I think I settled on, per gal:

15ml sea stim
7.5ml sea shield
4ml salute manganese

This round I applied it about a week before the flip and again about a week after. I was thinking of going a little later next round and applying the first time right at the flip and again about two weeks later, just before they start showing hairs. Thoughts?

I don't pH...just mix it with a lot of water

Pacific grow makes sea shield...look at their site. Fish hydro + crab + shrimp. Whether or not aea further tinkers with it, who knows. But you ain't far from pacific grow...why ship it back and forth across the country

That formula looks good. Whe to apply...you got me. Right now I am going 1 wk before and right at flip. Gonna take some trials to nail it down
But I got gg4 and a stardog going so we can compare for sure...and my scooby, you won't believe the trichs that thing throws

I will look into that pacific gro. Definitely feels weird to order oceanic fertilizers from a company in the midwest when I'm living on the coast.

Will be nice to compare notes. So far with the GG4 I feel like it wants a little extra nitrogen in early flower vs. the other strains I'm growing. Just seems like it wants to fade a little earlier than I'd like.

Age old isn't bad for bottled stuff. Whenever you apply N in a liquid form its always good to mix it with a carbon source. I've been using humacarb for the past two season.

I'm out of the country for a few weeks but I'll pm you when I get up to 50 posts.

Humacarb also works well with micronized gypsum to get something similar to Nectar of the Gods.

I met the guy that owns pacific grow last week and also a few nw distributors. I'll get you their info also but in a pm. They don't seem like the type of guys that would want to associate with this industry.

Its a crazy plant, almost looks like it has a powdery mildew problem on the buds it gets so white. I just couldn't deal with the micro nugs it puts out.

Wait till you smell the odyssey after its been sitting in a jar for a while, gets really sweet and kinda smells like hops.

Thanks for the heads up silver.... I thought the same thing about the topping...... However, that tall tale on the piercing of the stem w the nail had me thinking.....REALLY??? U never know what to believe these days!!

Damn milky, that odyssey lookin good too.... Ever since I been on the ic... All I can think about is finding a proper spot in the outdo to put me a couple.... I did some banana dawg, pink kush, and some erkle n my backyard a year ago.,, guess I underestimated the sun.... Lol. They got so bushy, I had to stand my kids trampoline up on its side cause I was scared the neighbors were gonna see it....lmao.... Not like they couldn't smell it from the road already!! :).

Right on Cep, enjoy your (I'm assuming) vacation.

I fantasized about a mex trip this winter but I have too many projects I want to complete so it seems unlikely that I'll be going anywhere for a while. Just dropped a bunch of cherry pie crosses and some others in dirt so that should keep me entertained for the winter:biggrin:

Nicaragua. It's like Costa Rica with fewer people. I've been in the zone for three years, need to not look at a weed plant for a bit.

Dude, I've got so many seeds to pop. I'm going to hit those hard when I'm back. Cherry pie/Aliendawg cross from a local company, some stardawg seeds from an old release. Keeping males this time...

I've yet to do central America but a few friends are on the Nica bandwagon for sure. One of these days...

Aliendawg/Cherry sounds great and stardawg too. I wish I had more space to play around with pollen chucking. So much more fun than growing clones.

Yep, Dogwalker OG: great strain. We should have a thread about it sometime.

The real dog has a strong smell with a funky/sour edge to it and can yield pretty heavy towards the end. It usually tests at about 29% in our circle, with a heavy terp. fingerprint that defines it easily from the pretenders. Very coveted strain in the PNW.
