I have noticed a lot of people using Ai’s such as chat gpt to gather information.

It’s a great tool to do this quickly, but the
information may or may not be accurate.

I propose that when an AI output is posted up that at a bare minimum the poster should state that “this is from my AI”

What do you guys think about the use of AI in the forums ?

Edit: @acespicoli has also set up a thread on AI that is well worth checking out and he has put a lot of links and info regarding the topic. Please check it out too :)

as long as people don't treat every chatgpt answer as gospel I'm fine with it, it's a useful tool, but you are right people should mark chatgpt output and not just post it as "their own words"

edit: I personally don't use it that much, I get my information from oldfart growers arguing on internet forums

Imo it would be nice if they re-wrote the info out in their own words. this way they double check it and make sure it makes sense, not just having 100% faith in a bot.

I find the outputs from the current models very hard to read a lot of the time. Often the same information is repeated multiple times.

It would also be nice to see some references from where the information is complied too.

We can see the bot activity here on ICmag by checking who’s online viewing what..... there’s a fair few bots at anyone time I have noticed.

I’m the same I’d rather hear from experienced growers.

I’ve never used it for cannabis related info mostly for writing things in other languages and making pictures but not porn! Pictures of hybrid animals and fantasy landscapes.

You have to check it, if it has given the right answer.
I ran that by AI as an experiment. ;)

AI Overview

To check if an answer is correct, compare it to the known facts or information related to the question, ensuring it aligns with the expected response and is logically sound; if necessary, consult reliable sources to verify the accuracy of the answer provided.
Key points to consider when checking an answer:
  • Relevance: Does the answer directly address the question asked?
  • Accuracy: Are the facts and details presented in the answer correct?
  • Completeness: Does the answer provide all necessary information to fully address the question?
  • Logic: Does the reasoning behind the answer make sense and follow a logical progression?
  • Consistency: If multiple answers are provided, do they align with each other and not contradict themselves?

How to check an answer effectively:
  • Read the question carefully:
Understand the exact meaning of the question and what information is being asked for.
  • Analyze the provided answer:
Review the answer thoroughly, looking for any potential errors or inconsistencies.
  • Consult reliable sources:
If unsure, cross-check the answer with trusted textbooks, websites, or other credible information sources.
  • Consider different perspectives:
If the question is open-ended, think about potential alternative interpretations and whether the answer addresses them adequately.
Generative AI is experimental.

My AI was tasked with the same assignment yielding the following:

In an advanced era of information verification, the process of checking an answer has evolved into a seamless blend of artificial intelligence and augmented reality. Users engage with smart systems that analyze queries in real-time, ensuring responses align with a vast repository of verified knowledge.

Key Considerations for Verification:
  • Relevance: AI algorithms swiftly identify if the response pertains directly to the question, filtering out unrelated information.
  • Accuracy: Automated cross-referencing with established databases guarantees that facts and details are precise.
  • Completeness: Comprehensive analysis tools evaluate whether all aspects of the question are addressed, offering suggestions for any missing information.
  • Logic: Advanced reasoning engines assess the coherence and logical flow of the provided answer, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Consistency: AI checks for alignment across multiple responses, highlighting contradictions or discrepancies.
Effective Answer Verification Process:
  1. Comprehension: Users interact with intuitive interfaces that help elucidate the question’s intent and required information.
  2. Thorough Analysis: Enhanced analytical tools dissect the answer, flagging potential errors or inconsistencies for review.
  3. Cross-Checking: Integration with trusted digital libraries and knowledge graphs allows for quick validation against credible sources.
  4. Diverse Perspectives: AI encourages users to consider alternative viewpoints, enriching the understanding of nuanced or open-ended questions.
This futuristic approach to answer verification not only enhances accuracy but also empowers users to engage deeply with information, fostering a culture of informed decision-making in an increasingly complex world.

feck no

That should be a hangin' offense around here. I have never used AI for anything, nor will I as long as it remains within my power to make that decision...

Side note; what kind of fucked up world are we making here, where I have to ponder whether that's even going to remain possible. I hate it so bad. Need to start working on that time machine now... 1995 calls me.

Very similar to @buzzmobile Ai’s answer, except yours seems to pump up the relevance of AI(itself) a notch or so which is amusing, it’s kind of self promoting Itself :D

It would be intersting to make Some growing questions and do a comparison between Ai’s, individual people and groups of people.

See if we humans still have the edge.

I wonder if there is a difference in the answer AI gives if it is free vs. paid AI? That would be interesting in some regard.

AI “Free” Vs Ai2,0 “The subscription “

Im not an expert but I would bet on some Simple questions, like the example you and Buzz used, it will be the same.
On more complex questions 2.0 will have an edge to some degree.

A weighted aggregation of multiple “subscriptions “ using a time series model of past performance could be like a AI voltron of sorts

No and never will.

People just copy and paste the wall of text the AI spits out and they act like it's the holy grail.
A lot of those individuals can't write it with their own words and a wall of text is just off-putting in a discussion.

Quite a few on here that use AI..

If it's a tool, why don't they use the tool called Brain?
