I use Microsoft CoPilot occasionally just to see what it has to say. I sometimes cut and paste snippets of text from various sources but I always check with other sources to verify accuracy. But what I post is my own writing because I actually enjoy writing myself.

The thing with the publicly available chat is that they censor what the model will do. Some queries are rejected.

The good thing is that it's simple to run an uncensored Llama 3.2 model with 18 billion parameters locally on your own computer. You don't need to know how to code either. You can run your own chat in something like LMStudio and use any model you like or you can fine tune your own with your data.

WARNING: NSFW. Vivid prose. INTENSE. Visceral Details. Light HORROR. Swearing. UNCENSORED... humor, romance, fun.

It is a LLama 3.2 model, max context of 128k (131,000) using mixture of experts to combine EIGHT top L3.2 3B models into one massive powerhouse at 18.4B parameters (equal to 24B - 8 X 3B).

How is utilizing AI any different than running a plain old search for info?
when you search yourself you decide which source you find credible over the other, when you use chatgpt it does that for you, the way it decides which source is more credible than the other is not really transparent, and it may weigh outright disinformation more credible than scientific researchpapers...

With a typical search you usually have links to the websites. Some of those are obviously not going to be reliable and you can choose not to use them as a source of information. When you query a chat agent it's pulling data from an LLM that has been trained on data from many sources. You have no way of knowing where that data came from.

feel like once ai is used more to correct communication and facts people are gonna actually retain and or educate themselves less.

Like when you had to remember every ones phone number.
or write down directions and follow a map you would actually learn where you are. now we just follow the gps and then have no idea where we are.
Basic addition and subtraction without pulling out a calculator, and then always trusting the lady at the cash register that she or he didnt overcharge you

Why are you listening or asking ai in the first place?
You have a brain use it for it's intended purpose.

Exactly. Critical thinking is a skill, developed over time and with life experience. I swear it's like we're in a race to see just how long it takes to make us all drooling, force-fed idiots. I can't fathom the thought process that would make someone prefer using AI to gather "information" instead of reading, and sifting what you read through your own logical filters.

I really dislike where humanity seems to be heading.

i wouldn't even know where to begin, hahaha you might as well have just asked me:

"do you activate your cortical enhancements when you post?"

This is kind of funny I queried AI to see what kind of response I would get this is the AI response >>>
Does AI give accurate information?

While AI accuracy can be effective, it is not a substitute for truthfulness. Recognising and addressing the limitations of accuracy is critical to utilising AI's full potential responsibly and ethically as it continues to permeate our lives.

The AI generated videos and imagery still has quite a ways to go but its certainly gotten better.
I don't doubt realistic imagery is coming real fast for every day people.

That could mean the death, and/or the eternal life of the modern movie star.

actors selling their image to be used for ever and the rights to these images being traded by investors and corporations like commodity futures.

I mean Why pay humans when we can digitally create actors using everyone’s face book photos and posts as a data sets?

Imagine the shit show face book posts would create if used as inputs?

It’s the same thing with these chat models at the moment. If the user doesn’t refine the data inputs properly It will just be Garbage in and garbage out aka a word salad.

AI chat models seem to be a great tool it’s just a lot of users haven’t been educated on how these tools work or how to use them properly imo.

Don’t blame the tools for your word salads,.

Enter proper parameters then check the output. Then refine the parameters again and check again.
Once you’re happy with the output make sure that you understand and edit it so it’s easy to read so others can read and understand the info too.

It’s a writing tool you still have to guide and iterate your writing just like with a pen and paper it doesn’t come out perfect first time every time. There’s a process.

We are writing/posting on here for other people to read right?

Because I can’t read these super long quasi technical word salads with no reference points. The way AI writes it just just does not compute for my little human brain.

What is wrong with training a model using your own data that you would then be able to interact with and access everything you've ever put into a document, every photo you've saved, all of the digital data that you have accumulated over your life?

All at your fingertips from a prompt?
