Nothing is more powerfull, nor more capable of producing the full spectrum of psychoactive and depressive compounds in cannabis then the SUN.
Have you ever heard of farmers trimming leaves of crops?

THC production is MAXIMUM at night, when their is no sun. Why would letting more sun get to the buds increase THC production then? it wouldnt.
Infact as far as i know (please correct me if im wrong) the specific rays of light from an HPS or the SUN actually break down THC content... the fact the carb producing fan leaves ON the bud would be charging hard and fueling the buds their attached to would be why people see bigger buds when their left in the light hotspots.

That's not true, man. The sun has a limited and measurable amount that hits the earth. It's called insolation and where I am, it's about 1kW / square meter. You can easily go beyond that if you want to with indoor lighting. There is a difference in spectrum, though.
Peace out
Actually yes. When growing table grapes, it is common to remove shaded leaves inside the trellis (to allow for better air movement) that are near or touching the fruit (to reduce scarring on the berries).
BUT, I would never remove any fan leaves on this plant unless it was too low to get any light, ready to fall, or just had to go due to an annoying position.
Dude Nothing is more powerfull, nor more capable of producing the full spectrum of psychoactive and depressive compounds in cannabis then the SUN.
The sun is more powerfull then your HPS deal with it. it also has a much greater capacity to produce the full spectrum of cannibinoids.
I'm not talking about it getting filtered before it gets to earth, i see what your saying your pointing out the exception to the rule i understand that. In my climate the sun fucking unstoppable.
The exception to the rule? I mean 1 kW/sq. meter is actually the exception to the rule, being on the higher end. I could exceed that with indoor lighting (even when considering inefficiency), that's what I'm saying, and it's just the facts.
Peace

I only remove fan leaves if they are shading a big budsite, after all, THC is produced from the light striking the disc at the base of the bubble on capitate-stalked trichomes, so if they aren't lit directly, they will not be as strong.
Who told you to do that, somene on the internet or someont irl? Such a mean thing to do.. What was their rationalization? This was my first grow ever. And, at someone else's advice, I removed ALL the fan leaves just as buds were beginning to show. I will NEVER do this agian!!! It was like the entire plant went into a shock (and, probably did)!! The buds quit growing... there were no more new buds for a long time... the once beautiful girl looked like $hit!!! She acted as if she were a man who was trying to impregnate a woman; and just before he blew his load, someone took a pair of pruning shears and lopped off his nut sack!!! Fellas (of which I am one), let that sit and marinate in your brain for a moment!! :jawdrop:
First, I have to say that when I realized how bad it had f*cked things up, it was not funny... not at all!!! But, after I got over wanting to rip this guy's head off and sh*t down his neck, I tried to see something good in what had happened. And, I did.... unless it is absolutely necessary, LEAVE THE F*CKING FAN LEAVES ALONE!!!!!!!!!!Who told you to do that, somene on the internet or someont irl? Such a mean thing to do.. What was their rationalization?
