that creek is both a blessing and a curse eh?

Do you lose a lot of your soil when it floods out like that?
Sending positive vibes your way man..... gotta be hearbreaking to arrive at the site to find it all mucked up like that.
You'll pull through I'm sure ;)

I have wildfires on the horizon..... smoked right out..... so bad it's giving me a headache.
The flames are far away but the smoke is thick and settled in.

past week was full of suck here, massive flood taking out plants in beds 3 and 4, those 2 beds will have trouble if it stays this wet.

Sorry to hear about the flood. Creek beds are such great soil and lots of sun, and are great for planting. I guess you know where the water goes now. Its always a risk planting near the creek. Glad you have some good looking beds that didn't get damaged.

The ones you stuck back in will probably be fine. Expect to see some good growth from those once they root in. Could you still plant there next year but move the bed up a little bit to keep it from flooding? Hate to loose good sunny spots.

Consider it a training session. Next year will be more smooth! Enjoying the big green patches! Nice hedge rows! Hot humid weather will help them make up the difference. Clear some weeds around the plants for better yields and less mold issues. Will also discourage chewing/digging animals. May use repellents, whenever it rains like that the animals are more likely to come out and start being a pest. :smoke:

Oh yeah it takes soil hard right at the creek edge bud the beds were soaked already so it doesn't get too much.

we got your Hoser smoke here 3 times already, I tell it to Take Off Eh?

Thanks man, yeah they might get better but outdoors is a gamble, last year the best flowers grew in the wet spot...

Sad to hear/see that , brethren.
Give thanks nevertheless, for what's standing .
Bed #1 , have a nice green sheet.Bed #5 Shed by the hills.
Grow on,grow strong.
yes, while it was flooding I was traveling to meet a brother from NJ who passed me my favorite cut about 4 years ago. every year I offer him new plants but he never was interested until last week and I was able to help him replace his garden after losing it to an emergency. I'm very thankful to hook him up and I'll be growing on as long as I can still work the soil.

You are one of the best and generous and most kindhearted souls out there and if you ever find yourself in the awkward position of no heads –stash you know where to go

thanks dawg! I'm well prepared to navigate though another year if disaster takes out everything but I don't think it will come to that... might have to come try that K for a pick me up tho, lol.

update from my offsite monster mounds, they are looking really nice and I think I got a good recipe on the soil there...

This is insane Iv been gone for years and I remember this thread. I got a cut of that ogkb2.0 from a guy in Fenton MI was a great cut. Wish I still had that bad boy. Lol
No Shit, I got family there and I walked into a hydro shop in Fenton about 6-8 years ago and handed the guy working there a rooted clone. wonder if he was the one who passed it to you...
