DNA- Chocolope

anyone familiar with sativa looking phenotype of chocolope?
I have it, and she looks like she'll go over 100 days
very thin stems, sativa thin leaves and long, airy flowers all along the branch
she smelled like lemon candy at the beginning and now she puts more fruity smell
Have the Sativa pheno also of chocolope. They are not big producers but have a great morning buzz. I use uvb florecents with mh and hps and can pull them at 60 days with cloudy trich's. They have thin leaves as described but the buds do fill in around day 50 for me. It has a real nice flavor and smell. Leans to the haze/ thai pheno compared to the indica pheno that has larger buds and bigger leaves. Have gone 10 weeks before with amber everywhere but can pull them earlier for a more up buzz.

I was tempted to put a few beans in my next run but decided on something else. I have 4 beans left and hope I find something better than the first 2. They just never did well, right from the get go. Had the most awesome, ripe cantaloupe flavor though.

Yeah Bmac my last one I almost culled because it was a little weakling that had no root structure and just seemed kind of a runt . I milked it along and it was by no means shit but was not special.
This one in veg is a whole different story. Growing tall and strong.I hope she is a success.

Ya, I thought it was the feeding that affected mine but nothing pulled it out of its funk. I tried more food, less food etc, nothing worked. I culled one and limped one to the finish line. It was sickly and it showed, it was the plant that started my gnat battle and a measly yeilder but I will give her another go. The flavor was out of this world and it was strong pot, yet functional.

I chose to do a chocolope on this run because its fem and a sativa. I'm doing regs so I needed a guarantee lady .I also wanted to get a bit of the trippy cantaloupe that its regarded for.

I decided to go regs this time around to pop some old beans I had and pheno hunt a bit. I have enough to do a DNA fem run and a Raskal fem run donw the road. I wish I had a warehouse to grow in, lol.

they had some freebie of the chocolope /shishkaberry x chocolope/rocklock,did not find a good mother /got a 3rd gen nice clone but did get some pollen from a nice male last spring ....I keep just enough to make seed...any one else see the strain look better as its closed out ...? the 3rd gen clone looks better then the F1 ,could be environment shock ...each gen looks better and better as you go ...

I saved a quote from Don about the D-LINE / Chocolope from around 2009/2010 - FYI:
The Chocolope is...

OG Chocolate Thai X Cannalope Haze

The OG stands for original

The Chocolate Thai was not lost it was a bitch to keep mothered and we decided to cross her to all the seed crops we had going at the time.... Then we killed her...

Basically we took cuts and put one in every seed crop that was going on... (did i already say that??)

The OG Choc.Thai was hit by our male Cannalope and the resulting seeds grown out (not all i might add) We then selected the "chocolope" and crossed her back to the Cannalope Male.

The Chocolope really dosent have that much to do with the original Chocolate Thai except for the old skool flavor on the exhale and the high. As far as the growth structure, flower time, and fruity edge i would say came from the Cannalope but its the flavor and taste that keeps people going crazy for this strain..

Here in the Damm i think its Cheese, LA, and Chocolope that are the most grown and Amnesia..

Hope this answered your questions..

I'm gonna check the vault and see what else we hit the Chocolate Thai with... Shit was years ago!!!!
Fuckin time flies!!!!!

That should also be the reason why they don't sell it as a regular seed version anymore - only fem seeds and some crosses

what C99 did you uses ?

Their " Cannalope Haze" is just a C99 pheno, their story about what
"Cannalope Haze" was ( Haze Bros etc or whatever) is total bs.
That being said.... Chocolope is an outstanding great strain.:tiphat:

the reason I ask was I have Mosca's C99

I saw a reply that said Chocolate Thai x Cannalope Haze is what the chocolope is made of ,I have found some write up on the freebies but not as much as I would like to justify a cross of these strains ..

Any of you guys know what year Chocolope was released? I still have an old pack of regs from 2009 in the fridge.

I agree with the Thai statement , when I made Candy Cain Thai it hit 9 1/2 ft easy and a hard strain to keep under control ...great weed ...

let me add this for those that would like to make their own strain of the hybrid Candy Cain Thai ...
I crossed a Lemon Asian Thai with a WW f1 (L,A, Thai X WW F1) then crosses the best phenol type with my 1974 Panama Red ) numbing buzz with a nice WW X PR flavor ,this cross came out great . when you look for the phenol type in the Thai x ww cross . look for the brachy phenol type it will have the most WW traits ..Ace has a nice Panama right now should get you close ...this Candy can hit 9 1/2 ft and branches great sticks from 16-22 inches ,hint: don't top them bend them over and tie them down side ways ...it will be a dominate Thai ,should come out around 70-75 days flowering ...
