DIY SuperMacro lens for under $10

Wow...great DIY Clowntown!

I just picked up a new cam(Fuji FinePix J10 - 8MP), but the Macro setting, just doesnt get in close enough...

Looks like I will be searching for a jewlers loupe this week!

If you guys are picking up new cams the canon powershot IS series is the cheapest best macro you can get on the market. This is what i use it has a zero millimeter super macro mode.Basically you can press something right against the lens and it will still focus..

what a good idea. i have been wanting macros sooooo bad.
 
I too added to CT's rep for this thread. I'm looking around at new digi cams at the moment and was horrified at the cost to buy a setup that would take good macros here in the UK. Now i can go for one of the cheaper ($200ish) decent cameras I was looking at, and make this lense. I'm going to use a true triplet loupe for mine, one of a big magnification if i can find it.. They sell them in different strengths here so i might make a few :muahaha: :D
