What do you mean by "radiant energy"? All energy that is radiated is "radiant energy". It can be any wavelength. Radio waves are radiant energy.I just know you need that radiant energy & DE HPS is the best & cheapest way to do that - what do you use for radiant energy?
Or are you referring specifically to infra-red (which doesn't drive photosynthesis, except to speed up the chemical processes of pretty much all organic life that contains water, which readily absorbs infra-red energy)?
We have done UVB vs UVA grow-offs and seen cannabinoid levels go backwards. Here are some 12% UVB Arcadia reptile bulbs. A screen was hung between the middle and the UVB plants on the left tested 14% THC while the UVA plants on the right tested 25% THC.
The reason was simple: UVB photo-oxidises cannabinoids faster than UVA or other forms of light. The UVB bulbs were run for 6 hours a day, which was far too long. Small doses of UVB can have the same effect as larger doses of UVA.
