Even if, by some turn Breeder Steve is correct, it won't entirely stop the seed business going to the USA. Just make it harder... and I'd be very surprised if that unfortunate circumstance continued indefinitely. Where there's money to be made, someone will find a way.

I wasn't thinking about genetic preservation.. but what I could actually grow in my set up. And I thought that general order would be better than listing seeds.

Sativa's could go by continent, but I don't have the space to grow stretchy sativas, although I wish I could.

On seeds to the US:
Everyone of us here has friends in the UK....Enough said about that "delimma"....Only way for this scenario to come true would be for the UK,Netherlands and Spain outlaw the sell of seeds...
Then they could (slow us down) but certainly not stop the seeds...We will always find a way to get what we want,may just have to work a little more for it...Where theres demand theres someone willing to find a way to beat the system...
Safe addy's will have to become much safer and there are ways to do these things if people put their collective minds together..

The only thing that might happen is things will become a little more difficult for a while..............

I'm curious why noone else in the industy are talking of this impending doom?????????

The only other thing I could think is that there will be some kind of radiating of mail but there are a shitload of legal seed and plant suppliers out there that would be affected... Theres DAMN sure other things for our government to spend it's money on besides a war on cannabis seeds....................

With the greatest respect, it sounds like Steve's been smoking too much to me. And the DP slagging elsewhere, (whilst no doubt honestly felt, and which I have read) wasn't exactly good business - I don't think badmouthing other companies on public forums is good policy. It may or may not be true, we have no way of knowing, but to a consumer trying to make an important and potentially risky decision, it's not good info to be hearing. We're capable of making our judgements based on the info available...

I have no inside knowledge of this, but I would place a large bet on the seed industry thriving in places like Britain, and thence into the US. Seeds are legal here for a reason. As are the vast amount of grow shops in every town. I think there's at least six in mine, including a 'superstore', which advertises on the back of buses! Everyone knows what they're for. Nobody minds.

So I don't expect that to change much except to become more relaxed - that kind of scene can't be 'clamped up again', and all these businesses are paying lots of taxes. Also, due to the nature of their business, they take mostly cash. Are their banks complaining? I doubt it. It's hardly 'Scarface', but the banks aren't stupid either. Nobody minds.

And last but not least, if you folks in the US get your asses into gear, you could actually have a Democrat government in two years time. They may relax the laws on seed importation. They may also decide to follow several state initiatives, and change the Federal laws on medical use and personal, non-criminal cultivation and possession. Got to be worth a try, eh?

I have read a few documents about irradiating mail and it seems expense and public outcry are barriers to it.....not that i wouldn't be suprise if it were being done in secret.....

What about diversifying seed stock, so several different seed stocks are stored in several different countries? I think Reeferman did this when he wiggled out of Canada, and possibly still does this though i don't know for sure......

The more zip codes for retail seed banks the better in my opinion......am i right?

I find it hard to believe that cannabis seeds could be distinguished from seeds of other plants in a package with an X-Ray. If they microwaved every package coming to the US then organic/heirloom seeds are doomed as well... unlikely though.

This wonderland won't last forever that's for sure. But we will regroup on other sites until they take them down quicker than they are put up. Switch technology mediums? They're hacking away at our rights one unconcerned consumer at a time. But the underground always prevails and goes to new heights to one up the devils. They've been trying to kill this shit since they realized it threatened their bank rolls and gave people power to produce their own goods.

Besides get real- the government WANTS you to recieve your seeds.. sure they might pretend they're trying to seize them by taking away a few letters, but what the hell good does a few letters bring them? Nothing... now if they let you get those seeds, then BUST you after your harvest, what do they get? More money (funding), looks better on paper, propaganda, seizures, cash, names, networks, etc.... they get infinitely more by allowing seeds through

Without reading the full article, it is hard to say his context.
Steve has said this before, a few years ago he talked about artificial seeds made from clones taking over the seed biz, in case you didn't notice it never happened. Seeds are impossible to stop, they can be made and distributed way to easy.
The US government lost the war on Cannabis when indoor lights were introduced in the late 70's, that and clones, as well as seeds from everywhere in the world. They do not yet admit they have lost the war, but it is pretty clear they will never be able to put the genie back into the bottle....
Even if they tried the price would rise and tempt many more people to try growing for profit, it is the nature of a capitalistic society.
It is just a matter of time before they realize the truth and tax and regulate the Cannabis biz, for me the sooner the better.

I believe in the opiate of the masses theory and that frequent shows of outrage against things like tobacco by increasing taxes is just for show. Notice how alcohol is never touched. Besides, growing is so wide spread that with forums like this, access to genetics will increase. I belong to another site called canna seed collective, you can actually join by donating seeds which are given to needy med patients. I think sites like that will increase. I think the govt wants you drunk or stoned so you arent distracted by horrible policys in place under each regime. I already made a friend in this lifestyle and have traded clones. He drives a truck and goes to canada often. As long as there are forums like this, more stuff like that will go on.
