yeah,i really try to just grow stuff that i like to smoke, first and foremost i consider my garden to be personal use...but the lights need to stay on...

i'm looking forward to free cooling season, part of the reason i built the led room was to have space for seed runs which i haven't been doing for a while...and when you get down to it,none of the new new elites are really any better than one another or what had come before them...in some ways the new new is getting more boring as people chase those high thc % numbers...plus clone farming is sorta boring...

It happens. I'm at the phase of the cycle where I'm over it and I just want the next round of plants to get started.

You mean like when you have 1/2 a room of seeded plants from a damn spec ops/MAC hermie and you just want the 65 to 70 days to get here.

@Unc - Brother, my garden is legitimately personal use. I tend to share a bit much when I go out of town - away from anyone who might know me, but then, things like that keep me from getting jaded.

Still, I stare at those colas and laugh at whoever said money doesn't grow on trees. I'm often tempted to turn the printing press on, so to speak. More often than not, I'm just grateful for the money I save and the safety I gain not pursuing and associating with those that do...

@AG - yeah, that sucks. I had that vibe last round, but fortunately, it really wasn't as bad as I thought. May you only have a couple hundred seeds instead of a few thousand. LOL.

@Chili_B - that UF pheno, is the one that won picture of the month. It was a 49-51 day Digi dom pheno that had more Sour Bubble / kush style nugs - but was very very candy / blueberry syrup. Buttery, creamy blueberry sugary love. Groady Ho and I smoked a good bit of BHO from that plant. It broke him. He's been asking for THAT blueberry ever since. :joint: I've got some great new stuff for you, my friend.

Those GROM x Digi Bx1 are where Genetic Freaked's "SNOWMAN" male came from. I have a male from that line, outcrossed to GG#4. That is the Snow Monkey line.

The male, is going to hit this Sis/PK next flower cycle.

Sis/PK x (GG4 x GROM/Digi Bx1) - I really think - It's going to end up something with reisn and calyx quality like the Triangle Mints line. (ie Wedding Cake clone)

PREACH, Uncle! PREACH!

Although when I do find a good plant, you can bet your sweet ass and half a titty that I'll be hanging on to her to run in the tent.

Speaking of, I might be popping some Snowman crosses sooner than I anticipated.

My 2 big OTMs have balls. And the remaining two are mutants, with one a runt to boot.

It's kinda soured me on OTM for the moment to be honest. Especially with Digiberry inbound, thanks to frank's glowing review.

i'm still psyched to have some mac1 coming down in another 4-5 weeks!
mainly because it's new to me,i have tried mac from seed before and liked it,first run with caps cut...peanut butter breath is the next new new to go in,had that grown with chems so excited to have veganic coming...then hammerhead's flashbang...that's a real elite since less than a half dozen people have it...

@ GOT BUD? - Look - Chili is RIGHT there -LOL- Digi is his spirit child. I'm just the messenger willing to take the shit storm for spreading a gene line that COULD hermi. :joint:

People really shouldn't think of VG's line as "Digi" any more than they should think of the Carolina Blue x Digi Bx1 as "Digi". They are both re-introductions of Digi back into the DJ gene pool. Both are attempts to infuse flavor and cannabinoid profile into a rather bottlenecked gene pool. (not saying that as a negative) Both those lines represent an attempt to expand diversity and re-open the blue line with something that MAY NOT be related, but still carries the desired effects and flavor profile.

Given the amount of bull s*** I've dealt with for having the audacity to say a flavor profile exists outside of a genetic line that the creator has said WAS NOT named for said flavor profile...LOL.

I've said it before, but VG's pairing seems to have produced better results than the Carolina Blue pairing. I don't know the exact reasons for this, but that is EXACTLY why we say the proof is in the progeny. I want people to find what they seek, so it's never been an issue for me to say look at ___________.

I'm not a DJ hater. I'm also not disillusioned.

@Unc - Hmmm. Because 6 people have it - it is elite? Not sure I agree. GG#4 and Cookies both gained that status once the masses came back for more and the growers didn't stop growing it and the breeders started infusing it. It's a time honored process, I've learned, and there is a gauntlet.

I hope to do enough with Digi in my lifetime to earn her that accolade, because I feel she is worthy of her star on the walk of fame.

i hear yah,it's killing me waiting for 3 plants to finish

Just re-reading things. Yes. Even this round, I have 1/2 a flowering room empty for the better part of a month. 9wk and 12wk. It is maddening.

HERE IT IS - THE DISADVANTAGE - of a soil bed. Normally, plants would come out and I'd pick a vegged out clone to fill in the gap. Perpetual rotation on no particular schedule, plants came and went, when they were in containers.

In a soil bed, I'm terrified of really disturbing the roots of plants that will finish a month later, so don't want to cut out root balls and replant - for fear of triggering drastic stress freak out on the remaining plants.

I'm realizing, beds are great when it all comes down together or you are mono-cropping. Not so ideal at all for perpetual.

UNLESS - Soil bed growers, help me here - maybe I don't need to worry so much about root disturbance???

That is a good question abou5 disturbing the roots.

I know just what y’all mean about “being ready for the run to be over”... my bubba ain’t shits at week 11 now and ready for it to ALL be done and comedown so there’s room for the next ladies...

I have two still left to come down...!!!...

Sorry don’t want to take this off topic but Frank- what kinda flowering times should I be looking at with these Snowman crosses .?.
SSSDH x Snowman and the OGx x Snowman...!!!...

Thanx

I'll say this too...EVERYTHING...EVERYTHING...I am doing now, is for the sole purpose of creating a mother library that is legitimately worthy of accepting Digi pollen again.

I need to find plants I like - that are worth growing (to me) so I KNOW them inside and out by default, because I love them - not because there is demand for them.

Once I find my harem again, I will absolutely begin the Digi infusion process again - for the sole purpose of selecting a male - to work the Digi clone one step further.

Chili sent me Dabney Blue x BlueBubble seeds in case all the Digi Bx2 fail - to start the process of selecting a male over, to make a new Bx1 line.

If I could start 10,000 plants at a time, this would be easier. :joint:

@Unc - I was smoking Glue with a group of glass blowers in the mountains before it had a name. Phillthy's first harvest he said, no - you have to come try this - and kicked me a 1/2. I shared that in sesh and was given glass as a thank you. I knew it was legit then. It had a name about 3 weeks later. Such an awesome story with that whole cut. Feel good movie of the year.

I get what you're saying though. THAT is what I'm trying to develop. Maybe not exclusive, but perhaps a legit head stash strain that you can't go wrong with. I've been watching HH and he's putting out dank, no question. I'm certainly not trying to take anything down a notch or casting shade...just to be clear.

@Nickman -OGx - 8-10 wk. SSSDH 9-12wk. The Snowman drops flower times but isn't dominant necessarily so some phenos still go as long as normal -ie the mother but with nuanced influences still very present. Those leaning toward the dad seem to finish faster. If I'm wrong, GF will set me straight. He's not been logged in, or else I'd just direct the question to him. ;)

Love the flavor of Sweet Tooth. Not a fan of the effects. That is what had me hyped on the Zkits x - I'm still traumatized...lol.

I have Swt#4 F2 pheno C seeds from Phillthy - yes, we isolated our open pollination efforts even then - because it makes sense!

I'm thinking - I'll likely start all of those in the hopes of even one germinating when I sprout the Sour D Bx2 from KG. I'm actually into the idea of a sour grapefruit diesel and since Zkittles x slipped through my grasp I'm trying to figure out how to get something remotely similar from what I have.

Things in my room are likely going to change drastically when I see what Top Dawg decides they want me to run....everything will at least get pushed back another round.

Yes - I'll be growing some of the more exclusive Top Dawg lines in this thread as well. To be honest, I'm sick and tired of the least getting rep on the Green Point threads - so it's time to show THE REAL.

Karma G and $mike are both F.A.M. - I said when this thread started - I'd be dedicating my space to friends and F.A.M.I.L.Y. - that hasn't changed.

I'm no till brother. I leave the rootballs in there.

Here's a picture of what I do pull out of the ground some 6 weeks after harvest.
picture.php

You can see what remains of the paper pot, the stem I left when I chopped her down, and a few main roots. Everything else is free organic materials for the microbes, worms, and fungi to feast on.

And to add some fuel to the fire. I have 12 Sweettooth 1.1 seeds. They're yours if you want them frank. They are old however.

@Got Bud - I certainly leave the mas of the roots in and just cut out a small stump like you show above, after a full cycle. Question is about chopping those stumps out of one half of the bed, while the other half is still in mid-flower.

Invitro Gemination. Study it with me. That's the conversation we all NEED to be having.

I have around 300 random fresh seeds from this last round that I will start playing with. Need to develop a SOP and start playing with agar media. Need to start practicing extracting the embryo from the shell and seed coat.

If we can master this practice, we can save A TON of old genes we think are lost.

I'm not a soil bed grower but your situation got me thinking.
Wouldn't it be better to leave plants in the pots they vegged in and just cut bottoms off when you transplant into bed. Leaving 3/4 or so of the pot exposed. Then you could just lift pot cut roots at bottom of pot. Causing zero damage to other plants.
