I used to buy a 6 pack of the cheapest beer on slaughter day for my turkeys.
Mix it with some sweet oats into a porridge of sorts and they would chow down.
1/2 hour later I would go in with the knife and take them out to the butchers block and slit their throats to bleed them out before whacking their heads off..
The beer seems to make them calmer, I have tried with and without....and it is BEER all the way... Plus it makes gutting them better....better to clean beer/oats outta the gizzards vs all sorts of other goodies you would rather not see....

i beat mine to death with the curved end of a claw hammer. loosens the feathers that way too...

I bet you his turkeys are raised and slaughtered in a more humane way than any of the turkeys most of us had for Thanksgiving were..Just sayin.
First off, Kiss my ass.... You have no idea what your talking about, and you should learn some fucking manners.
Compared to a commercial Turkey operation that I have toured and visited (one is close by)my facilities were like the FUCKING SHANGRI LA.
I raised them by hand from day old poults, free ranged them in a 12x12 turkey tractor that got moved onto fresh pasture 2X's a day. Never mind supplimenting their diet with organic grain and all sorts of goodies from my gardens.
I even had one that 99% of farmers would have culled due to a deformity with her leg... I hand fed her that was tame enough to come and hop up on my lap and eat grapes etc. I named her Gimpy.... She still ended up in the freezer tho....BECAUSE SHE IS FOOD.
The fucking reason I slit their throats and give them the BEER is to make sure they are nice and calm so their death is quick...
After two quick cuts on either side of their neck(holding the bird between my legs comfortably on a downward slope) they bleed out in seconds, when that is done then head comes off.
If you spent any time in the country you might have a clue about the realities of where MEAT comes from.
Go to a commercial turkey barn, then a SLAUGHTER facility and you will see some disgusting stuff, that sort of stuff doesn't happen on my homestead...
So please pull your head outta your ass.....Tho I suspect you might be one of those PETA people....at which point there is no saving you....

I worked on a turkey farm once...we never gave them booze ..but it makes sense..maybe wild turkey so their really out of it...yeehaw....

People here eat lamb all the time. Sounds to me like the lady was kind of a bitch lol.
some areas more than others...its more common in rural areas and places were ethnic people have restaurants...lamb chops aint bad....yeehaw..some say its sort of gamey but I eat just about everything
I raised and butchered a few hundred broilers in tractors this year, and a few Muscovy. By far the best method for you, the bird, and the meat quality is upside down in a cone and bleed. I'm actually interested in trying the beer as well now, calmer birds and possible better meat quality as a result can't be bad. My pigs eat distillers slurry and If it sits to long they walk around wasted haha they ones we've eaten so far have been amazing! Lol my pigs are alcoholics
