I would soak the thing for 5 minutes 3x a day in rubbing alcohol. Bandage up with those butterfly bandages.

Token, my apologies if the humor I was intending to convey got lost in translation. The only shit I was being serious about was that which applies to your current medical condition. Sorry if you thought otherwise. I hope your cut, car, life, et al. get better soon. Bad things come in threes. Base your odds of getting an infection on that. (I keed, I keed. more humor. you see? )

Oh, and the nurse is wrong, if she's talking about liquid nail glue. IMHO, nurses know less than they think.

[EDIT: HerbGlaze, Absolutely he should NOT do that. It will dry out the skin even more, and keep the body from doing what it needs to do]

I was gonna say super-glue but i noticed lots of others already mentioned it. It really does work when you can get it done by a professional. Keep it bandaged with polysporin and change regularly. Eat lots of anti-oxidants.

INSURANCE NOT ALWAYS A SURE THING

INSURANCE NOT ALWAYS A SURE THING

APRIL 15TH 07 I SIGNED UP FOR BC/BS. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO START JUNE 15TH 07. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT JUNE 23RD 07. BLUE CROSS MAILED ME A LETTER I GOT LATER. THEY CHANGED MY START DATE TO THE13TH OF JULY 07. SAID MY INJURIES WERE PRE-EXISTING, WOULD'NT COVER ANYTHING. I SPENT A MONTH IN A COMA ON LIFE SUPPORT IN INTENSIVE CARE. ALL MY RIBS BUSTED MULTIPLE PLACES, PUNCTURED LUNG,BROKEN L SHOULDER, TRAMATIC BRAIN INJURY, 3 BROKEN VERTIBRAE IN MY NECK. LIVER AND KIDNEY SHUT DOWN FOR A WHILE, CAUSING SOME VISION LOSS. $215,000 LATER . THE MORAL IS FIX YOUR BODY. WORRY ABOUT HOW TO PAY FOR IT LATER. DON'T WORRY ABOUT CRAPPING ON THEM. THEY WON'T THINK TWICE ABOUT CRAPPING ON YOU.

well I tried the superglue last night after work and it did t work out too well... I think I waited too long to even do that.

So as for now I'm just keepin it clean about 4 times a day...letting it breathe during the day and bandaging it up during work in the evenings and when I hit the sheets.

no sign of infection...I think it's gonna be about 6 weeks until it heals fully and it's gonna be a gnarly scar..but chicks dig scars...right excel? :bashhead:

anyway...anyone got any other cleaning tips we havent discussed? again...I'm takin amoxacillin (only 4 left) hydrogen peroxide 4 times a day and some neosporin....sometimes new skin. appreciate all the input guys...even you h&p
