when it is completely naive idea that pure thai can grow well in northern hemisphere or indoors...

while from definition of landrace it is clear that landrace thai is variety developed for specific climate and not for any other. it is not variety which can perform in more types of climate. no, it cant..

haze brothers had to cross it with colombian, and grow thai pheno. even kaiki from cannabiogen had to cross hmong thai with colombian/mexican to allow some outstanding results with it. well at Hawaii or in Australia, it is not needed.

o the best would be those ones from 70s. but question is how it was preserved...
the question is..how good is it?

have grown a few thais ,several thai sticks....

79thai,<-looked hybrid ..some phenos had a decent but not powerful high..hermi’s abound

Gypsy’s thai stick,<--pure sativa..had resin did not like the buzz..maybe happier phenos,,

Dalat<--one was great years ago lost it via illegality and plant #’s

Humong <--seemd to be maybe hybridized with another sativa or wld due to earlier flowering.,..
...there was one plant I should have cloned

I need to regrow Humong.. while I search for the glory thai..

thats same question. it cant be good when it was "preserved" by some pollen chuckers who can grow 10 plants at once... that is the most seeds you have, it is from some pollen chuckers, which can be nice people or awful people, it doenst matter. but only real breeders with facility and understanding of cannabis genetics can preserve it..

and also it is good how you grow it. and I already expressed my doubts about growing real thai indoors and taking it into its full potential.

Yes, the line is different from the more common Dutch hazes. When I was there in '94, I was smoking a very good pure haze everyday from one of the old Dutch shops, maybe dampkring? That was like more Colombian type leather and fresh sawn teak wood. That’s what I was expecting first time I grew the seeds. But something very different grows, it was almost exactly same like the Thai I grew many years before. I agree with your Aussie friends. It has other very complex things going on but it is very Thai heavy no doubt in my mind about that.

however as you and tom have said and i have noted too ,
the haze he has is more reminscent of Thai to me also ,
firstly the growth , and the aroma ,
i was growing aussie mango heads when i first got toms haze ,
they were so similar , i couldnt tell them apart in pictures ,
in fact they shared so many triats , one would think they were the same plant

ugly side of thai genetics grown indoors... look at pic and you see that acid beauties are not happy at all.. it is yellowing while flowers have still long way to finish, on curly leafs you see plants are not happy. in such state or condition, I think it is 10 weeks in flowering, you cant await it will finish properly and smoke like thai stick which were grown under tropical sun in free ground... sorry. I was thanful to guy who tested it like this. but the truth is.. results cant be good when it is fucked up so much... sorry for being sincere.

I personally have problems to finish pure thaihaze properly indoors, to keep it healthy and happy through whole flowering cycle. under leds I can forget about it totally... hps is better. metal halide even more better.. but still..

when I compare it with greenhouse grown, it is incomparable.

thats why I prefer hybrids of it indoors, these hybrids I dont have any problem to finish properly and it is easy.

I thought at Acid Beauty, that when I make it as F1, I will get some ease, that it will be easier to grow it indoors than pure toms haze or vietnamese. nope, I failed at it. it is finicky the same way as at pure thai... maybe more easy, but still not enough to avoid typical problems indoors.

Hi Rgd,
Can you detail what you didn't like about Gypsy Nirvana Thai Stick?

Judging by the skinny Thai Sticks I smoked in the 1970s, I would never describe the first 30 minutes of the high as happy, 50 minutes if one includes the time it takes to first hit you. I think Dubi from ACE seeds coined a term "terrorific" which I think fits. The second and third hours, yes hours, would be very blissful to me. Half of the people I smoked with did not tolerate the terrorific part at all. A few never smoked weed again. LOL!

Later I came across some really fat "Thai Sticks" wrapped in red thread. These were similar, but less terrorific. And then the Cambodian Red, loads of bliss, exceptionally clean and clear. I think some Laos strains have more happy type highs, and strong too.
