Apologies to all for dropping the diary ball there for a while. Reality got a little life like. I had to go play grownup.

Meg, Jo and Amy all proved to be ladies. Meg was too scrawny to keep. Amy was doing OK but, fearing lack of scrog space, Jo is the only one I kept. We'll see how wise that decision was in the next few weeks.

BillyBeth showed the first signs of pollen today. I clipped him down to nothing, tapping each cut over a plate before stuffing into a garbage bag. Paranoid that I am, I stripped nekkid before going into the closet and went straight to the shower after tying up the garbage bag. I'll give Jo a few more weeks and then dust a bud or three

December issue of Hightimes has destroyer as one of the top 10 strains of 08.Cannabiogen say to harvest later for intense flavor and a racy high.I thought you should harvest earlier for a racier high?

Weekend Update.

One month down, 2 to go. Spread seems to have stopped. I probably could've housed two plants. Especially had I not topped them. Live and learn. The undergrowth has been trimmed out and, as buds are starting to grow in clumps, it's time to let her up through the screen.

Whoa, first post! I'm honored. Great find and thanks for sharing. I'd have thought earlier was better as well. I suppose I'll just have to harvest in stages and see.

Welcome to IC

Hey freeze, i was thinking of doing a scrog for my next cycle with my ES. Is scrog the most effective way of maximizing yeild in a micro grow? You let them grow into the screen before switching to bloom right?

It looks like you have 1 intake and 1 exhaust with a fan? is that right? Is it pretty cold in your garage? I dont get how you are able to run the same setup summer and winter unless your garage is climate controlled.

The bare int cab shot in post 1 was cribbed from an earlier diary. I've added a second intake (bottom left) I just forgot to snap a pic while the cab was empty. You can see the dual, filtered intakes here ...

Garage temps swing from 40º-100ºF. This summer saw me doing the ice bottle in the tank shuffle 2-3 times a day. Winter, I keep an aquarium heater in the tank. I'm sure I'm taking a production hit because of it but, IC has so increased my yields, I can shut down in the summer from now on. My 2 1/2 Thunks yielded a years worth of weed. Dang you IC, Dang you to heck!

I used to do a 24-36 plant SOG but, never liked keeping 50-100 plants at a time. ScROG produces the same with 2 plants. Also, because of my interest in Sativa I had real height concerns. Most would veg halfway through the screen and then flip, allowing the pre-flower stretch to fill the screen. Because I'm growing Sativas, I flip and ScROG at the same time. My second Thunk flowered for 21 weeks and NEVER stopped stretching. The Destroyer going now doesn't look like its going to compete on that level

can you do a scrog with clones from different phenos? Or does it work best with cuts from the same plant because they grow more uniformly?

Does that breeder still sell those genes? I tried looking them up and found their sight, but didn't see that strain on there. Not that I think i'm experienced enough to try growing it. Sounds like you are saying its easier to grow than the thunk, which I have 15 freebeans from.

Wow, so you would say its better to grow in temps that are too cold than too hot? Easier to correct/compensate?

Multi phenos would be best served with modular screens and buckets. One, because they may have different nute requirements. Two, different finish dates would force you to leave dead roots in the tub when you harvest one but not others.

I got my beans at Seed Boutique Page is dated Nov 9, 2008 so I guess they're in stock.

Too hot was a pain because of the ice bottle boogie and the stretch. Those seemed never ending. The cold is handled with an aquarium heater. In either scenario, I run my lamp at night.

ya, i hear ya. I run my lamp at night too. whats wrong with leaving dead roots in reservoir? I've had them in there for 2 months since I chopped down the males. PH swings or something?

I love all those thin sativa leafs :D they look so awesome. The scrog looks awesome and seems to really fill out the entire room. With my sativa strains that Im planning on running next round Im seriously considering doing a scrog to control them, especially after seeing the results you always get. Keep up the good work bro, later.

I'll have to bow to your actual experience. My concern was theoretical rather than practical, that dead stuff in the res couldn't be good. But, your experience seems to say otherwise.

I'd imagine the water would be more acidic with decomposing matter in it. When I kept fresh water Amazons I always used a substrate of peat moss and dead leaves under the gravel to mimic their natural acidic environment.
