Hey BC, from what I have seen, I have the tubular pheno. I did run that cut inside and it was a very good high. I loved it in the evenings. It was funny, if I was drinking it would actually make me not want to drink anymore for about an hour or so, not a good thing to smoke if you are drunk. Any way, I will get some more shots after I cut and we can compare a little more. Last week it looked pretty coated with trichs, so I can't wait until tomorrow when it comes down

how long did you veg your Dc , bc ?

I just transplanted my tree into 10L of soil , want to give her another ~ 2-3 weeks and then straight into flowering after thinning out ... , the Dc Ibl pollen sits stored in the fridge waiting

Yes, I have just put 2 14" clones of the same DC mum in this thread into flower for a seed project. I will flower my DC male in about 14 days, as I like to let my fems get established in flower before pollinating them. This gives me more bud to pollinate, and therefor, more seeds.. I'm using males from a friend who selected them from original Tom Hill stock.

I had this project planned prior to recieving 16 DC beans from Bub, or else I would have waited to grow these out prior to doing a seed run, to get better selection.. But as is, i'm working with the best female from one pack of Bubs, and the best males from one pack of Tom's.. so it should still produce top notch beanery. They'll be done in about 2 months..

it's hard for me to tell based on the pictures, and due to the fact that's it's outdoor grown, which often makes a completely different looking plants..

Without seeing a clear close-up of the top of the cola, i can't say with 100% certainty, but it actualy doesn't look like the tubular pheno.. Also, you should be able to see it right away by looking at the bud leaves at the top of the plant.

From what i can gather, the tubular pheno is not necessarily a better smoke, it's just a prettier plant. Like I said before I have a friend who prefers his non-tubular pheno to his tubular one, but that was the 1st run, so he wants to regrow them to be sure..

Also, I think the tubular pheno has more purple tendencies, which is consistant with your plant not being the tubular one..

Altho it still looks choice, and you have definately proven DC will yeild better outdoors, that's obvious from your pics.. Regardless of the pheno you'll still get that excellent pure afghan flavor, and blissful DC stone.. It looks great bro, good job.


Here's a pic from Tom Hill (pretty sure), also displaying the tubular DC pheno, you can see how even the resin takes on the purple color.. I think this is what mine would look like if grown outdoors..

I went maybe 2 months for veg, in fairly small, restrictive pots.. She's actualy stretched quite alot in flower, as she had to fight for light crammed under my 400.

I just put 2 more DCs in flower in the last 2 days at about 12-14" tall, and they only took about 6 weeks veg. I believe DC is better done as a 10-12" sog, at least in my setup.

I'm currently testing whether DC can still do well flowered in small pots.. I have one that's about 14" in a 6" stubby (1/2 gallon), and one that's about 12", flowered in a 4" square pot, maybe 1/2 a liter of medium.

I'm testing them like this because DC is one of my hands down favorite smokes, and i plan to grow alot of it. I wanna figure out the best possible way to do it..

From what i've seen so far, for indoors, DC does best starting flower in the 10-12" range, as anything lower than that will get no light anyways, so it's just a waste of veg time IMHO to go over 12" inside.. unless you can dedicate a whole light to DC.

Also, last run my DC was flowered under a horizontal light. This time I'm flowering them under vertical lighting. I have a suspision the verticle light will drastically increase the yeild from DC, giving light to all the lower branches..


if anyone's interested i'll thro up some pics of them at a couple weeks flower, so you can see how they do in super small pots..
