What does DC look like? I grew a very bushy plant and gave it to a guy for lack of space. He chopped it early because he said it stunk up his whole yard. It had some fat 11 leaf fans as big as a big hand. VerdantGreen said it looked like DC.

I think I got the seed from Seedbay, and may still have some .

I think it came from these:

Google it.. DC is very unique. The cabbage plant :D. I've tried other WLD but found nothing similar.

It looks like Hindu death cabbage, more recently monkey balls. I only went with deep chunk after I heard Jesus Christ monkey balls on south park then seen there was a video game called monkey balls and did not want to be sued 😂. If you read RC Clarke's MJ Botany he describes it perfectly under Hindu Kush.

In the 70's, there was a fast growing shade tree that lined the streets of suburban America. It dropped these golf ball sized seed pods that had us all crashing all over on our skateboards lol. Resinous, leafy, round golf ball sized nugs, that's what deep chunk looks like. Bobby F aka bobby Jones of Newport beach circa late 80's coined them monkey balls. It was right on.

Got a little action. Moved them to veg space. Running a marshydro 4800 at 30% in the 5x5, 6 inches off the top so lots of spread. View attachment 18735886
Looks awesome brother. They are root hogs and put all this oodles of energy into all kind of weird places but when it comes to the message it delivers. I'd put it up against any other hashplant in the world.

Man I've been carried away with all the landrace sativa stuff, and lately been pondering what broad leaf stuff to get... DeepChunk is definitely top priority... Somehow its evaded me..... .. SourBubble bx3 is probably the most BLD ive got, and I truly miss that one bad... I think DeepChunk is my next focus for sure..... I need something like this to breed with my narrow leaf stuff because its going to be impossible to pop and detect special boys in my NLD stuff nealry as fast/space saving as I could sift/detect/test with DC males.... If any of my friends see this, and didnt realize I wanted DeepChunk, feel free to hit me up!!!

Probably the most underrated, under credited strain out there... Seems like so many people did crosses with it years ago and hid the lineage because they didnt want people to immitate it...
All the Sourbubble bx3, and DeepChunk projects that magically didnt get talked about after they started sifting and finding gems... Then you see fancy new unknown lineage strains pop up... Around the same time 50,000 seed companies popped up outta the blue....

While we are waiting here is my Maruf Black male I picked up searching the Durand line project 2020 stuff. Used him for f2s. I'll cycle them back in for f3 sometime who knows.

I've got a few Gorilla Bubble Bx5 s1 going to throw in with the DC too, should be explosive. I've done several pairings with her and what little somewhat inbred gear I could find.

The x18 x gb V. Green made are showing excellent vigor. I'll try to snap a pic next time I'm over there.

Would be awesome to see how big I could get the fans... trying to get the light intensity low enough for them to thrive and not grow like a turtle from too much DLI..... Get the temp/humidity right so they are still pushing VPD, and photosynthesis fast, and get big... Not really pushing the PPFD/Light Intensity until 2nd half of flower.
Keep it kinda warm, humid with low light for a while... High wind so no stale stagnant spots with humidity above whats registered, and so stems dont get floppy/weak, and overly stretchy.. Let the plants stretch to the light though and judge how comfortable they are.... Try to get healthy stretch from DIF.... Day, and Night temperature swings entirely change plant morphologies.... I think with this lineage they are meant to handle heat, and cold. Depending on the season they will get tall or squat to stay cool or warm.... I believe in a normal growers old fashion HID rig... they would get super high day and night temps so they stay squat to shade themself, and spend all their energy on making huge leafs for absorbing such little humidity and the thick waxy style to better stabilize the temperature of the water inside so it doesnt rush out of such a large surface area leaf... Like a surfactant effect that allows water in but not out... With help also from short stalk trichomes which act like a hydrophilic receptor.

Im curious which expressions you find to be the special ones tom? Any certain trait, or smell, or you just go for the outlier frost and brix/waxy thick leaf with a certain resin texture? Whatever pumps out oils more than others essentially.
